Commentator Profiles

Tom Bateman is an Associate Professor of Political Science at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He has written several articles on Canadian politics, with a focus on constitutional law and is the co-editor of the highly regarded collection Braving the New World (Nelson, 2004).

Patrick Smith is a Professor of Political Science at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia and the author or co-author of numerous publications about Canadian politics, including The Almanac of Canadian Politics (Oxford , 1995) and Ties That Bind: Voters and Parties in Canada (Oxford , 2000).
