"DOJ asks watchdog to probe Trump campaign surveillance claims

The DOJ announcement comes just hours after Trump tweeted that he planned to demand on Monday that the department look into whether federal agents spied on his campaign for "political purposes."

And when it turns out, like the wiretapping claims, to be perfectly legal surveillance of known spies and money launderers, will you accept that this time?

In terms of entertaining hockey to watch the NHL is as good as it has ever been. In this fast paced, entertaining era, the Jets are among the most exciting teams to watch. Great season!

Now I'd love to see the Knights pull it off.  They've already accomplished in one season, something the Leafs haven't in 50. What a story!

Yes the Jets impressed. Yet, if there was ever a Cinderella team Vegas is it.

  6. AP has deleted a tweet from late Wednesday on Trump’s “animals” comment about immigrants because it wasn’t made clear that he was speaking after a comment about gang members.

Maybe Trudeau will invite those poor maligned MS 13 'animals' to Canada

You also can't expect them to be psychic. They report what he says and they can't help it if people are stupid enough to elect a president who is a babbling imbecile who can't express his thoughts clearly.

His tweets today are particularly unhinged. Seems like he figured no one would ever find out about the second Trump tower meeting. Who's getting indighted next? How are you going to blame the media for that?

It's been widely reported. He pled guilty and made a plea deal. It involves the Russian mob money laundering operation Manafort and Trump were involved in. We won't know all the details though until charges are laid and he flips. Not looking good at all though. I think this is the 20th charge and sixth guilty plea so far.

  10. Nah.  Trudeau shouldn't apologise to the Jews for something he isn't really sorry about.   Jews should turn that hypocritical apology down.

Mueller told Trump's legal team he will not indict the president, Giuliani tells Fox News

Giuliani, himself a former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, also told Fox News that Mueller's investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president's team. That has forced Trump's legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel -- a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.

"We’ve had no response from them," Giuliani told Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" about his interactions with Mueller's team. "We're asking ... what do they really need to know, what kind of assurances do we have that they'll get it over with quickly, just like they did for [Hillary] Clinton."

The precedent that federal prosecutors cannot indict a sitting president is laid out in a 1999 Justice Department memo. Giuliani told Fox News that Mueller has no choice but to follow its guidance.

There's no question that having a Russian mob asset for a president is unprecedented and that it could well lead to a constitutional crisis, but it doesn't mean it can't happen. There are lots of ways to bring him down, and it will be fun watching Mueller do it. Bwahahaha.

You put people in a position of defending Trump because of the spin and propaganda.

Trump: "We're taking people out of the country — you wouldn't believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals."  The quote was in direct reference to  M13 gangs  He exhorted his administration to “do much better” in keeping out undesirable people, including members of transnational gangs like MS-13.

    4. dialamah

      dialamah

Why defend him?   He's someone who lies constantly, or else can't remember from minute to minute what he's said, is given to stupid twitter rants, and is literally clueless about what it means to be President.  Can you imagine the response of Trump defenders around here if JT went on a Twitter rampage at 4 in the morning, filled with misspellings and inaccuracies?   Or if he appointed his wife and brother to high-level positions in the government?   Or if he suddenly wanted to bail out a company in a foreign country with whom he did business? You all would be sh*tting yourselves in outrage - but Trump?  No problem!   Trump defenders are fools.

  17. Who would've thought the RA in NRA stood for Russian Asset?

  18. Uh-oh.  Did Mueller colluded with the Russian???  Could this be true?

"Mueller may have a conflict — and it leads directly to a Russian oligarch

But there’s one episode even Mueller’s former law enforcement comrades — and independent ethicists — acknowledge raises legitimate legal issues and a possible conflict of interest in his overseeing the Russia election probe.

In 2009, when Mueller ran the FBI, the bureau asked Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to spend millions of his own dollars funding an FBI-supervised operation to rescue a retired FBI agent, Robert Levinson, captured in Iran while working for the CIA in 2007.

Yes, that’s the same Deripaska who has surfaced in Mueller’s current investigation and who was recently sanctioned by the Trump administration.

I was alerted to Deripaska’s past FBI relationship by U.S. officials who wondered whether the Russian’s conspicuous absence from Mueller’s indictments might be related to his FBI work.

    They aren’t the only ones.

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz told me he believes Mueller has a conflict of interest because his FBI previously accepted financial help from a Russian that is, at the very least, a witness in the current probe."

If it were a nothing burger, why the grand jury subpoena of Trump's social media strategist today? Why the expanding investigation? Be patient. It will end, everything will come out, and you'll deny you were ever a Trump supporter soon.

    3. OftenWrong

I don't actually consider myself a "supporter", since he is not my president and I do not follow all the stories about Donald Trump very closely. Certainly, not as closely as you.

However, a quick google check shows that the person who was subpoenaed today was the long-time social media consultant for one of Trump's advisors.
