This is the latest topic in Quebec forums. A good one too. Did Martin make a boo-boo with Lapierre?
Quebecor Lapierre in French
Martin can't push this election to the Fall. And a federal party must accept people of different beliefs. But Chretien would never have done this. Canada is already a different country.

"This man is worth more than all his enemies combined yet I have never condoned the errors in his texts nor the trivialities that he spouts with passion. Indeed, I have openly taken his side when others erroneously condemned him for these very trivialities." Voltaire referring to Charles Adrien Helvétius, Dictionnaire philosophique

The problem with Lapierre is that he:
a) is a departure from the traditional Federalist approach that has allowed the Liberals to boast Quebec prowess to all of Canada.
there is a trustworthiness issue with him. He did betray the Liberals before. And, even though this is a rumour, he's already issued some ultimatums to Martin.
Lapierre may be more an example of Martin's lack of a consistent vision than anything else.

This topic is getting the same attention it did when I called the PM's office to convey my thoughts about this man calling the shots for a country he wants dismantled.
I guess most Canadians are asleep or stupid if they will vote for a party that welcomes this man as positive force to the well being of all Canadians.
They should realize his interests are for the taxpayers money of Canada to go to Quebec, not Canada as a whole, and keeping him in a position of power within the liberal party of Canada tells me where their priorities are and have been for quite sometime.Screw the ROC.,they will still vote for us.Sadly, most Canadians will vote Liberal.
