That run by Marshawn Lynch may go down as one of the greatest in NFL history. WOW!!

Let's not go overboard...It was a great run at a time when the Seabags needed it most...

Huge upset,nevertheless...

Can't say I saw that one coming...

The key to me was the inability of the New Orleans defence to actually tackle someone cleanly for the entire game....

How far can the 7-9 Seahawks go? The NFL needs to expand by two more teams. Each conference will have 17 teams. Each team in the conference plays every other team for a total of 16 games. Every team plays the same schedule. No divisions. Top 8 teams in each conference make the playoffs. Time to call Roger G. so that he can make this official. ;)

Go Colts!!!

There needs to be no more expansion at all...The football nowadays is far too watered down.In fact,if they lopped off at least 2 teams,it would'nt hurt the NFL one bit...

I never understand why people get down on teams that have a mediocre season and get into the playoffs??

The Arizona Cardinals were 9-7 2 years ago,and came within a James Harrison interception return for a touchdown of a Super Bowl. The playoffs are a new season, and if New Orleans was so great and Seattle was so bad,the Saints defence should have shown up today and beat the weak 7-9 Seabags...They did'nt,and the proof is in the pudding with the result.

And the only thing I need to hear fron Mr.Godell is that he is'nt going to lock the players out before next year...No needs to see the economic balance of the NFL disrupted so the likies of Jerry Jones and Danial Snyder can blow their collective financial brains out to buy championship football teams....

If the J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! win, both Super Bowl teams from a year ago will be out of the playoffs on the first day of the first round of the playoffs....

The playoffs are what matters. I'm sure the Bucs and Giants feel slighted, as they should.

The Bucs should have beaten Atlanta about a month ago in a game they should have won...

The Giants should not have given up a 21 point lead with 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter against Philadelphia a month ago...

No excuses...Those teams had a chance and they blew it...They can go pound sand...

A 7 win team should never get in ahead of a 10 win team. Divisions in pro sports cheapen the regular season.

Perhaps...

But I wonder if the Saints think so right about now???

:D

'Cause they're pounding sand with the New York and Tampa Bay....And Carolina...

An excellent shootout that was highlighted by one of the nicest TD runs in a very long time. How many tackles did Lynch break? 5? 6? Plus, when you have your QB run up looking to throw blocks you know who wants it more.

Saints had it coming. Super Bowl champs the previous year and haven't won a road playoff game. They was ripe.

Now we got the Colts-Jets snorefest (first half at least)

I just saw on the halftime of the Jets/Colts game that it was 8 tackles...It was a great run,no question..It was greatly aided by shoddy tackling by the New Orleans defence.Which is how they tackled the whole game.

You're right...The Saints can wear every inch of that loss proudly because their defence essentially never showed up.In fact,I think they coughed up 10 point leads twice!

7-7 Jets/Colts...3rd Quarter...

Gotta give it up to Hasselbeck...He did'nt play on Sunday night because of an injury(by the way,Charlie Whitehurst played really well against St.Louis),but he was game today!

The Seahawks got it done, no question. They got in by a flawed playoff system and played a good game today.

As for the strike next year, Jack, you have to look at the bright side.... hundreds of fewer charter flights means less CO2...which should mean a pause for global warming.

Not a strike...A lockout...Job action by the employer, not the employees....

And,if you read into it,you'll realize that it's driven by the greed of the likes of Jerry Jones.

It is'nt going to be that big a deal for me because I'm a football fan,not just an NFL fan...So there's plenty of other places to get my fix!

The system is'nt flawed...Because the teams you pointed out had HUGE opportunites to win games that would have put them in the playoffs, and they blew it when they had the chance. And the seeding system you're talking about would have kept Arizona out of the playoffs 2 years ago,and as I said, they came within one play form winning the Super Bowl...

The Bucs and Giants had chances to win, yes, but they had 3 more wins than the seahawks. I want to see the best teams in the playoffs, not flukes of a weak division.

Let me get this straight...

The one year this happens, keep in mind that I remember when the Cleveland Browns went into the playoffs with an 8-8 record and almost beat the Miami Dolphins in the Orange Bowl, you want to change the entire playoff structure?

I mean,$#!+ happens sometimes...And if New Orleans was such a great team, perhaps they should told their defence to show up today and beat that undeserving 7-9 team?

Then the regular season is meaningless. The Seahawks benefit by playing in a weak division.

I never liked the NFL playoff system, well before this season. This year just exposed the league's flaw. And yes, the Seahawks can go on to win the SB, all because a playoff system rewarded them for a mediocre season.
