Blacks are 8% of the total population but account for 94% of all murders, which are black on black.

What are we doing about this situation?

EDIT- It's about time the Canadian people stopped being afraid to say it and have an honest discussion about it.

If their is something we, as citizens can do then we should be discussing that. We simply cannot allow the black community to have these problems any longer.

You're being dishonest here Michael. Remember the year of the gun? The Toronto Star printed the pictures of all the murder victims and most were black. It's sad that the black community is killing themselves.

We need to start denying the problem exists and start working on a solution.

You quoted a number - where did you get it ?

I'm quoting real numbers, so why am I dishonest and you are not ?

Furthermore, I don't see why we can't use the US stats as an upper bound for the Canadian ones, given that they likely have more people from that group in their population.

where did you come up with 8%? ...government stats puts it at about 2%...

crime isn't caused by race, it's roots are economic/poverty...

by the by... a quick googly shows Toronto's 2008 homicide rate was, @ 1.6 per 100,000 population, below the Canadian national average of 1.8 per 100,000 population. By the strictest application of the same degree of substantiation you've provided, I hereby leverage your unfounded statistics and proclaim that Toronto's black population can't shoot straight... uhhh... relative to the rest of Canada!

I've heard that it's not so much the Black population as a whole in Toronto. But more specifically problems with immigrants from Jamaica, coming from rather rough backgrounds.
