Mark Steyn says that when America falls off the economic cliff it will make a louder thud than Ireland, Greece or Portugal.
While he seems to grasp that the bigger you are the harder you fall, Steyn really doesn't know shit from Shinola. I was saying it would be more like a giant splat than a thud way back when Steyn was still masturbating to the idea the US would be the greatest hyper-power the universe has ever seen.

So obviously you've never read any of his books, have you?

That's obvious.....he just read what someone wrote about Steyn at Rabble. The left is so predictable. The left want America destroyed....and sadly, they are winning. But like I said, it will come back to bite them harder than they could ever imagine. Anyone who understands know that big trouble lay ahead. Just like my lefty acquaintance who spent the past year in Antwerp. He used to spout off the usual left-wing talking points about Steyn that all lefties are rehearsed to spout off. But his experience in Antwerp opened his eyes. He now concedes that Steyn is right on so many fronts. Be prepared. Unfortunatelty, America is done. I don't mean that disrespectfully Bush-Cheney. I used to respect America ofr its freedom and power. It is rapidly losing both, thanks to an empty suit, who is great at reading the telepropmpter, who's most important job previous to becoming Prez was to get paid sitting around thinking great thoughts.
Sitting around thinking great thoughts.....what a genius.

America is not "done"...and certainly not because of a single president. Even if America were to disappear tomorrow, it's still been a very good run. So cry not for America...but what may replace it.

He writes extremely well. Too bad, in person, that he's miserable, nasty and arrogant.Mark Steyn is one of the few people in this world who really understands what is going on in the world. Too bad the left fears him so much.

I am going to say the former. The speakers at the forum in New York City were Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant. Both of them were rather nasty in person when I went to talk to them after their speech. And I am an educated, polite left-winger, largely supporting him on the HRC issues which were the subject of some of the discussion.I've never met him in person. Miserable in a neighbourly setting, or miserable and nasty because he has to argue with dumb, know nothing lefties?
