Actually I never really understand people that lump an entire ethnic, religious or national group together and blame them all for the actions of a few. Whether that is Israeli governments occupying land, Islamic terrorists killing innocent people, or Western governments invading countries. It always seemed overly simplistic to me.

I agree... I would say that the one thing that unites them is the desire to kill and possibly the belief that killing is a good way to solve problems...

Avenging the death of loved one's is a human condition. It really doesn't matter what we think if we haven't lost a loved one in one of those senseless acts.

The terrorists would be happy to be captured alive. It's their leaders that may not be so happy with a live capture of a loose-lipped, hormone-crazed mujahadeen.

So we couldn't have opinions on these things unless someone close to us has been killed??

I don't think we could understand fully.. if somebody killed a person I loved (on purpose) I would hunt that person down and make them wish they were dead

I'm not saying I understand a victim's feelings but another person's actions don't automatically justify any form of harsh 'justice.' And my original point was not just directed toward victims and their families/friends. It was toward anyone who harbors anti-(fill in the blank) sentiments.

agreed. one of the reasons for this problem is that they want to understand those in which they don't really know without really making a real and genuine effort. instead, they fill in the blanks with superficial and usually negative images of them and then paint a broad stroke.

That's just my personal view. I don't believe in life after death..it would be nice though! Our bodies decompose into the dirt. Our spirit and conscience dies. I wish I believed in life after death because then what we do in this world matters and the people that commit those heinous crimes pay for it. But I believe in justice. Not justice as in you go to prison and get fed for the rest of your life justice. Justice as in eye for an eye.

I change my mind on this often though..so my opinion might change tomorrow or the next day

I was surprised that the killer was an Islamic militant because I thought Muslims were being targeted, too; it was said that there was extra security at both Jewish and Muslim schools. At any rate, I'm so glad that this is over before any more deaths occurred, and so glad that the terrorizing is over for the people of France, particularly those living in the Toulouse area. What a tragedy for all involved.
