Well that was the most anti-climactic moment I've had on this site. :P

We'll see, but the commenters on CBC & G&M boards aren't necessarily NDP membership.

I certainly hope not.

Well... I hope that if he does become leader, he'll shelve his anti-monarchism and not turn the Crown into a political football to be tossed back and forth across the centre aisle of the Commons.

Oh God, if this becomes reality, I don't know who I'd vote for. Maybe the Marijuana Party.

I'm quite sure I never suggested this especially since I don't use a binary "conservative"/"liberal" classification system to classify people's political values.

There's not much to indicate either way.

I know I am.

Meh.

My first day at the convention was a great success!!!

I did not get there until the tribute for Jack Layton.

There were several speakers for including his son and daughter and vidoe clips of former PMs.The tribute ended with a passionate speach by Olivia with many standin ovations!

Afterwards I attended a Thomas Mulcair party at the Intercontinental hotel saphire and tuquoise rooms with business reps of UA local 46 plumbers and fitters, sheet metal local 30,the electricians union IBEW local 353 and Canadas largest private sector union UFCW.(I just missed Cid Ryan, president of the OFL)

Notables I met there so far Howard Moscoe,Libby Davis and local NDP hero Jagmeet Singh!

Libby is is a very nice person and is nothing like what the conservatives here make her out to be!Shame on those who pick on her, shame on you!

As a side note I wanted to start a thread just about the convention but this will do.

Tomorrow morning I will be there bright and early, polls close at 9am so soon after that we will have the results of the first round!

Don't they paint her as the most left-wing of the party?

Just watching re-runs of the presentations for the first time now on CPAC. I saw a lot of criticism of Tom Mulcair's presentstion and speech, as Ed Broadbent said he "bombed". However I just finished watching Peggy Nash's presentation and thought it was much worse and I felt really sorry for her. Her campaign obviously dropped the bomb when it came to organizing it, those who introduced her were poorly rehearsed and she just seemed totally out of it and confused when she ran out of time.
