I guess the Conservatives are going to scare off the Russians by putting the arctic on our 50 dollar bill!

Gone from the new bill are images of human-rights causes, like the women’s liberation movement and the UN Declaration on Human Rights. Added is an image of an Arctic icebreaker, the Canadian Coast Guard research ship Amundsen.

Yeah that almost makes up for this.Gone from the new bill are images of human-rights causes, like the women’s liberation movement and the UN Declaration on Human Rights. Added is an image of an Arctic icebreaker, the Canadian Coast Guard research ship Amundsen.
If they were half as concerned about actually governing the country as they were about their propaganda campaigns, they might actually be a passable government.
"History I believe furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free and civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance, of which their political as well as their religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purpose."

That's why this is one big joke! What kind of message is this sending to Putin?! Changing the 50 dollar bill before its been out for a year and replacing the images with those of the Arctic..and yet stop funding an Arctic research centre which was incredibly cheap to operate... domestic policy fail

Did you read the article? Pearl is definitely NOT a northerner, is not suited to be north of Point Pele and should spend some time by herself in the hopes that someone will build a Purl 2, a station that will let the scientists do scientific things rather than having to plumbThat's why this is one big joke! The design of the bills changes with every new series.
I think people are suspecting far more Cabinet input in the design process than there actually is. Was Mulroney an ornothologist?

The last series (the Journey Series) was created in 2001. The $50 note came out in 2004.

I'm talking about the recent 50 dollar bill, it had womens rights and human rights on it ..was only out for the last 6 months and now they changed the whole design and put an arctic theme to it
