Yep, looks like Judaism gets a pass as well. Probably every other religion too. It's only Christianity that gets treated differently for whatever reason.

I think the reason that nobody made fun of the Jews on this message board last weekend is that we didn't hear about any Jews making complete asses of themselves.

The thread you're referring to was started by Boges (who has identified himself as a Christian, if I recall correctly...) to make mention of a bunch of Filipino morons who decided to celebrate Easter by getting nailed to crosses.

And I added the link to the Carolina pastor who sent out the "dead bunny" Easter greeting because I thought it fit the general theme.

The thread wasn't making fun of Christians, it was making fun of idiots doing stupid things to mark Easter.

If you've got any stories of Jews doing funny things, feel free. Right now the closest we have is JBG asking why there are no synagogues in the far north. When Jews do jump the shark-- like the chumps in New York harassing women riding on the Jewish bus, or the fundie crazies in Israel throwing fecal matter at elementary-school girls because they're "immodestly dressed", they get called on it.

Sure, some might call it that, if they wanted to be laughed at. If you think that other thread is persecution, all I can say is that you are seriously lacking in perspective.

Add that to the Orthodox Jews in Israel, back in November, who spit at an eight year old girl, on her way to school, for being "immodestly dressed". Or the Jews in Rockland County, who attempted to burn alive a worshiper who wanted to worship in the "wrong" facility (link to thread).

The reason why this is news when it happens with Jews is that it's rare. Unlike the situation in Pakistan (link in headline, excerpts below), or other similar paradisaical lands.

I like the "but our violence is never as bad as their violence" in every one of your threads. There is plenty of violence by all the major religions. Jews have more than their fair share. Claiming a biblical birthright to someone else's land and taking it by force is violent and happens all the time.

What I am saying is that just as when man bites dog it's news but not vice versa, when Jews commit horrific, senseless violence it's news, but when Muslims commit such violence it's dinner or laundry.

What you're saying is that all prior mass migrations of peoples were excusable but the Jews' more or less forced exit from Europe is "taking (land) by force"?

It's interesting that you made the effort to go and look for that particular information. I hadn't heard about it at all, online, or in the news until you posted it. I'm not sure if any similar and recent Jewish examples exist. But, you probably didn't bother looking for any. Did you?

Thirdly, just look at the titles of the threads. This one is happy passover, the other one is happy Jesus death day. Hmmm, interesting. Why not happy ten plagues of Egypt day instead?

Are you saying that if Israel takes land in response to an attack and the other side doesn't agree to lay off future attacks, the land should lay fallow for years? Or be allowed to the base for yet more attacks? You've got to be kidding.

Israel waited a long time until it started settling the land; except for Jerusalem. The Arabs did not respond to numerous entreaties to bargain before the settlement process started.
