The seniors are largely responsible for the debt that we have to pay off, ao it is only fair that they share in the pain.

Not really. Those seniors paid more taxes than Generation Useless (thats us), they built this countries roads, bridges, highways, energy infrastructure, and bled the ground red in a couple of major wars. Generation Useless has done absolutely nothing in comparison. The laziest and most pampered generation in Canadian history.

Yah accept you know on Private member bills because he can't. You fail to understand how the NDP works. The NDP is the ONLY party to never whip a vote on a privates members bills. So not just as authoritarian he is a little be less authoritarian then both the Cons and Libs you know being part of the only party to never whip a private members bill vote.

You're kidding, right?

He's just as bad as Harper, or at least close to it.
With friends like Zionists, what Jew needs enemies?
With friends like Islamists, what Muslim needs enemies?

Opposition to the long-gun registry was not part of the NDP's election platform, yet Turmel did sanction those Dippers who voted against it. Seeing that it could just as easily have been a private members' bill, what's up with that? And yes, Mulcair forgave them for it, so he's a little better than Turmel on that front, but now he's proposing to whip his MPs to vote against the new bill concerning the beginning of life. Both the Liberals and the Conservatives are leaving it to a free vote, only the NDP is making it a whipped vote.

That's not to say the Liberals or Conservatives are not guilty of whipping votes too, but just saying the NDP is no different.

AGAIN no private members Bill has ever been Whipped by the NDP unlike the Conservatives and Liberals. It is that simple. Never has never will.

But they do whip MPs on how to vote. Look at the long gun registry and now the life debate.

Im not a participant in the Canadian political system ever since I symbolically renounced my citizenship a few years back, and Im certainly not a supporter of the NDP or any other party. But at least the NDP didnt pile on while various Canadian governments sodomized and curbstomped Canadians and sold them out. Hardly a ringing endorsement to be sure, but at least its something.

All parties whip MPs on votes. The NDP is the only party though that you can count on to never whip a private members vote.

And that's why it's always best to vote for a candidate rather than a party.

But if you don't reach Party status in the house with a certain number of members resources are taken form you and constituents you are not allowed to speak in the house so you can't shape policy and you are treated as a much weaker MP. Believe I know I was around when we lost party status. It is a catch 22 of our system.

But you still have your vote and can vote your conscience, not party interest. The powers of an independent Mp may be limited, but in some respects greater than that of party members since he can in fact vote his conscience.

He'd still form an NDP government.

Wow-- No need for an election in 2015--- the voting is done & 26 people have decided that the next Canadian government will be NDP except for the fact that figuring that about 75% of the people voting on this Forum are NDP hardliners   ,and if 75 % voted for the NDP they would have garnered 20 votes in the poll. Ergo---The PCs are in like Flynn.
Even in a poll like this a lot of NDpeepers are afraid to vote for their own party, knowing full well what a financial disaster that would be for Canada--- so they voted for the PCs :o in the poll & would do the same in an election.

What a total bunch of BS---- Mulcair is already insisting that ALL NDPeepers vote the party line on the gun registry record retention even tho it's a dead subject.
