This phenomenon is historically one of the largest causes of protests related to the economy. Failure to maintain price stability has even brought governments down completely in the past.
College tuition prices are increasing faster than real wages and when that happens thousands or hundreds of thousands of people are effectively barred from entry, and when that happens they tend to get pissed off.
So looking at this in terms of whats "fair" is a rather juevenile approach to this issue. Its like saying that its not fair that it rains on the day you have a picnic planned. Cry about it all you want but its still raining.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have food and energy and healthcare inflation as well at somewhere around 7-9%. These is going to hit people really hard sooner or later, if it isnt dealt with and youre going to have a lot more political unrest.

It makes not one iota of difference if its fair or not. These protests are happening because the government has mismanaged our economy and our money, and we dont have price stability.

You might have missed the point, Quebec students pay the lowest University fees in North America and still will after the slight increase.
Thes are spoiled brats that have never heard no. They are anarchists and terrorists and need their collective asses put in jail in someplace that feeds them bread and water.
Otherwise piss on them and their left wing profs and the separatists that support them.

Tuition rates are projected to almost double over the next 5 years.

You are completely missing the point.

Retarded, and as I said before your opinion on the protesters is utterly irrelevant. If the costs of things like food, energy, medical care, and tuition keep increasing faster than real wages we are going to have big problems.
Answer your question?
No your Romper Room level analysis doesnt answer any questions at all about anything other than your failure to grasp the bigger picture.

People will be pissed if prices continue increase by more than their [b]after tax[/] real income. The price increases wouldn't be so annoying if 20-40% of our real income wasn't going to the government.
The real problem is that our liberal governments gave away so many services for free and subsidized the pricing of other products/services. Now that the credit card is getting tapped, the government can't afford these handouts/subsidies anymore and the people greedily want their entitlements.
It would be no different if you had a million dollar credit card and treated your children like royalty, then maxed your credit card and had to raise your teenage kids on a 50k salary. They'd be "rioting" for their yachts and penthouse condos and beemers.

It is not like these students will get jobs when they get out anyways. How fair is the society we live in really?
The crap is really going to hit the fan when these people can't find jobs. We should let the protests continue... because they are going to become a lot more commonplace in the near future...
Our entire society is a pyramid scheme for the baby boomers. Yet, everyone else is an entitled brat.

Not just the baby boomers by my generation as well... people born in the 70's. Generation Deadbeat.
We drank the bar dry and were gonna leave them the huge tab.

Dre you seem to be missing an important factor:
People will be pissed if prices continue increase by more than their [b]after tax[/] real income. The price increases wouldn't be so annoying if 20-40% of our real income wasn't going to the government.
The real problem is that our liberal governments gave away so many services for free and subsidized the pricing of other products/services. Now that the credit card is getting tapped, the government can't afford these handouts/subsidies anymore and the people greedily want their entitlements.

20-40% of our income would get eaten up pretty quickly if the cost of things like energy, food, tuition, and medicine keep inflating 7-10 per year. And this same inflation also raises costs for the government so that they need MORE tax revenue.
We can have a discussion about tax rates/ service levels... but it not going to mitigate the fact that these costs are increasing way faster than the purchasing power of peoples paychecks/dollars.

Many of them feel the same way about people who espouse fanatical right wing extremist views...like calling them anarchists or terrorists when all they are doing is protesting. You might have missed the point, Quebec students pay the lowest University fees in North America and still will after the slight increase.

Even retired Supreme Court Justice Gomery has come out now and said...this new law Charest and his right wing pals have put in place is wrong and in his words " "a limitation on free expression."
