http://news.national...endance-record/

Brazeau, 37, was absent for 25% of the 72 sittings between June 2011 and April 2012, the Senate attendance register shows.

Brazeau wasn’t just missing from the Senate floor. Between June 2011 and April 2012, he also missed 65% of meetings at the aboriginal peoples committee on which he sits.

He was away for 31% of the meetings of the human rights committee, where he is deputy-chair.

The senator, appointed in 2008 by Prime Minister Stephen Harper....

His record of attendance is poor enough. Calling the reporter who reported on his attendance a bitch is uncalled for and classless.

The state of the Senate under Harper is pathetic, especially considering his broken promise to reform it.

He also was beaten in a fight by Justin Trudeau. Pathetic.

Well, it's not as if it's a real job or that the senate actually does anything.

You mean the one he knew or should've known he could never keep?

He may not have been able to... however, he should have at least made an attempt to do so. There was never any attempt.

From the 1990's? Let's try and keep this a little more current.

What do you think about Senator Brazeau?

He said he has a reason and got hot under the collar. I can't speak for anyone else, but me, if someone caught me in a lie, I wouldn't want to say nothing, but if I had a damn good reason - one I wanted to keep private - I'd get pretty pissy too and start calling people names.

I believe him.

I'm guessing you're about six years old, right? Don't know anything at all about the Senate under Chretien or Martin, under Mulroney or Trudeau?

Senators missing a lot? Wow. Stop the freaking presses! Next you'll bring us the shocking news that snow is cold!

So no one should talk about it? They talked about it when the Liberals were in power, but of course I suppose any criticism of the Tories is "harper Derangement Syndrome."

Don't mean it but needs saying.

A partisan hack defends their own "side" while condemning the other for doing the same thing. It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

What do you think of Senator Brazeau and the job he is doing? Is it acceptable to miss so much of his job? Do you think he is an effective senator?

The main question is, what does Harper think of the senator's attendance since HE appointed him, seems pretty quite on that end.

I enjoyed his work that one time that young Trudeau lad smacked him around (but good).
