House Leaders

Appointed by each party to manage the affairs of that party in the House of Commons. House Leaders are usually selected by their respective Party Leaders to negotiate and reach agreements that expedite the business of the House. They have the authority to negotiate a timetable, usually working closely with their leaders, for which their parties are accountable. The House Leader for the government is a member of the cabinet.
