International Hockey Talk

  1. What's new in this club
  2. I always have hope - so I go to see the Leaf game first, but BIG Bruins fan
  3. The best thing about that game; Frederik Gauthier playing like the 21st overall pick big and heavy defensive center that he was selected to be. Three Leaf first round picks, plus John Tavares at center, Bill Nylander as a spare, is team building the way it is supposed to be done. In Dubeezus I trust
  4. Which would be scary if I was facing them in the playoffs; they spot teams big leads, then blow by them with ease as soon as they get the puck deep and hound it with heavy shifts. If the Buds get hot come the playoffs, and get the bounces from the Hockey Gods, they will win the Cup. If they don't, they won't. Try again next season, still in the window.
  5. I wish they would get off to better starts though. They always seems to go down 2 - 0 every game.
  6. None the less, I was the one who held his hand while he died, all if forgiven, I just wish he had lived to see my sons Auston and Mitch. Breaks my heart that my Da never lived to see Mitch Marner.
  7. I used to have these arguments with my father, he was a Babcock in terms of his play, but in terms of my play, he was a Maurice. Hence why I never made it to the NHL and became a soldier instead.
  8. To wit, Imagine if Laine played for the Mike Babcock Country Club? Patrik is an artiste, Babcock is overrated, but he's not a bad coach therein.
  9. Mike Babcock Country Club is too loosey goosey, but Paul Maurice Prison Camp is worse.
  10. I could see Paul Maurice getting on his nerves, sounds plausible to me, but goal scorers are inherently streaky, so could just be an extended slump. Never know when he might pop off for five goals in a game, like he did earlier this year, he's probably just gripping the stick too hard is all, long term I wouldn't be too worried about it.
  11. I'm just rallying around my sons, Auston and Mitch, I actually love, love, love Patrik Laine, second coming of Mario Lemieux. I am perplexed as to what his problem is, but based on the anecdotes of O-Dog, I suspect it is the coach, because apparently Maurice is a dick.
  12. I said he was a better pure shooter than Matthews, which might still be true even with the slump, but Matthews ain't even that far behind in that metric, if he's even behind at all. I did note at the time, that picking between Matthews and Laine's shot, is obvious hair splitting. Matthews has a much better nose for the net, is the better and more well rounded goal scorer, is playing a far more important position, and he's just a better player in general. Ovechkin still the top shooter in the league though, clearly jumped the gun by saying otherwise.
  13. Avs are back, baby! They quit sulking and just played. What the fuck is up with the Preds? Moreover, whatever happened to that Patrik Laine guy, you said was better than Matthews?
  14. Vaping the Preds tears myself up in here, poor Fife, 5-0 Avs.
  15. Basking in the glory of that win, vaping Haberta tears up in here.
  16. Mind blowing comeback. Third period was Stanley Cup Finals intense. Leafs down 3-0, comeback to win it with one minute left 4-3, then add two empty netters for 6-3. Haberta in shock. Mike Babcock Country Club ftw
  17. Mike Babcock Country Club completely phoning it in at home, getting rinsed by the Habs. Most overrated coach in the history of hockey.
  18. Of course, the Toronto Star says be at peace, Chinese Communist takeover is all good;
  19. It's such an overpay, especially considering it's extremely easy to watch any game you want for free, hard to make $5.2 billion back when only a tiny bit of resourcefulness gets one around the paywall that funds them.
  20. Classic Potemkin Village, that's not Hockey Night in Canada anymore, wasn't before the Chinese Communists took it over neither. It's a metaphor for Canada itself, presenting the facade of good ol' Hockey Night in Canada, while behind the scenes it is Beijing pulling the strings, because other capital is fleeing Canada in favour of the quality of American freedom. This is what the Fake Country looks like.
  21. It's a classic case of the Canadian Nanny Police State overspending and then having to go cap in hand to the Chinese Communists to fund the Potemkin Village
  22. They really did, I know it's hockey in Canada and all, but still, overpay city.
  23. Rogers has to make back the $5.2 billion it spent on NHL broadcast rights in Canada. I mean, they kind of overpaid there.
  24. Hey NHL, what's with all the Huawei shit? Can that Huawei sign be any bigger or brighter? The one that's always right in our face, front-row centre, throughout the intermission sportscast commentary- How about shut the damned advertizing off while the discussion is about hockey? Or go to hell.
  25. The Loafs were clearly partying in Vegas last night, because they haven't even showed up for this game in Arizona, to say that they are mailing it in, is an insult to letter carriers everywhere. Mike Babcock Country Club lives.
  26. Andreas Johnsson is second only to Elias Pettersson in rookie scoring, Brayden McNabb actually did us a favour taking him out, Johnsson is scoring his way off the team, need to chop him down just to keep the cap hit in check.
  27.
