  1. Canada is one of the LEAST racist countries in the world and actively works at stamping it out. Why would you be overly concerned about racism in Canada when the MOST racist countries are Middle Eastern and Islamic-ruled countries? If you are truly concerned about racism, I would start there.

  7. So the Trudeau government is set to ban a bunch of macho-looking rifles in Canada, even though they really don't do anything a lot of other rifles do, and even though everyone involved in policing recognizes that almost all illegal firearms come across the US border anyway. The cost will be $250 billion up front and another $150 million a year for for years. But we all know it will be a lot higher. It always is. And the reason for this billion dollars is not really a reduction in crime or the illegal use of firearms, it's to buy popularity for the Liberal party among urban progressives w

  10. This is nothing more than another liberal attempt at deflection of their excellent handling of the pandemic, and the dumping of hundreds of billions of tax payers dollars. In this case it will be tied into this recent shooting which it already has.....where the shooter had illegal firearms a hunting rifle, hand gun and shot gun, plus a RCMP hand gun, no mention of those nasty assault rifles, but they will some how be worked into the narrative somehow... ... it has nothing to do with overall safety of our citizens, but rather a feel good liberal exercise in further complicating the ownership o

Most on the political left are perfectly fine with these riots caused by anarchists in close proximity. Why are the Burn Loot Murder riots just fine but peaceful political rallies inherently dangerous?

This is textbook corruption by the Trudeaus. Sadly with the country distracted by COVID and the Opposition without a leader, this probably won't effect him too much.

  16. After Harper lost this was portrayed as an indictment of his government, his style, and his foreign policy by Liberals, including Jean Chretien, Paul Martin and Michael Ignatieff, as well as the NDP, of course, and much of the media. Trudeau made it the central plank of his foreign policy, so much so that he bragged "Canada's Back" to an adoring crowd of Foreign Affairs bureaucrats and to the UN, as if the 'bad' days of Harper not doing our traditional role of always avoiding taking a stand on anything was now over and the world would love us again. Unfortunately for him he then went on t

  22. The ongoing protests in BC, Ontario and elsewhere show the depths of ignorance, stupidity and vapid self-indulgence we've come to expect from much of the activist and progressive populations, along with the sheer bloody cowardice of our governments. Recall, the pipeline being protested was signed off on by the elected chiefs and band councils of the tribes in the area. The 'hereditary' chiefs tried to get elected in opposition to the pipeline, and failed. From which we can determine the natives in the area didn't care what they had to say and wanted the pipeline and the money and jobs tha

  23. So with the blockades of railroad crossings and entrances to government buildings across the country, we are seeing an alliance between radical environmentalists and unelected leaders of a tribe, the Wet’suwet’en. The protests are against a natural gas pipeline that has already been approved by the elected chiefs of the 20 bands in the contested area. These unelected chiefs who do not support Canadian law because they don’t recognize Canada are supported by anti-pipeline environmentalists. They do not recognize that transporting oil and natural gas by pipelines is safer and cleaner than doi

  26. Yesterday, in the midst of watching a seditious mob casually walk past an unprepared capitol hill police force, I came across a brilliant tweet: After spending the 20th century undermining democratically elected governments that commit the unforgivable crime of failing to be sufficiently deferential to US business interests, the US became a snake trying to devour it's own tail. Much attention was paid to Trump and his gang of sycophants. However, Trumpism is only marginally about Trump. For decades, across the western world, right wing ideologues (starting with Reagan and Th

  28. I agree that the monarchy is a bit of a clown-show, but the biggest threat to democracy from a Canadian POV is our state-controlled media. The extent to which our media protects Trudeau and demonizes the conservatives and their supporters is no joke now. The relationship between our media and the Libs is the same as the relationship between Xinhua and Xi, NoKo News and KJU, etc. They're in lock step, and there is no real opposition in a country where the gov't has complete control over the media. A perfect example of "weakening our ability and effectiveness at criticizing un

  30. Martial law doesn't really go well with democracy in my opinion. And clearly Trump supporters aren't the one's that have a problem accepting democracy. The 2016 election was won fairly by the Republican side but to this day it's the Democrats that refuse to accept the results. They are planning to go much further and will likely rig the system to favor their side in future elections. I don't know how Joe Biden personally feels about instituting martial law ,that question should be asked to his puppet masters. Scroll it up on the teleprompter!

  31. By the time covid is gone, the enduring legacy of it will be: 1) Massive carnage among small to medium businesses, while mega-corporations like Home Depot, FB and Amazon experience growth 2) Twice as many deaths as a regular flu season, but almost exclusively in the very elderly demographic. People of middle age or lower will have very few deaths, and there will be less than 1% of the deaths of a regular flu season among children. (Less people will die of covid in the US this year than die of medical mistakes every single year, and at the height of the covid 'pandemic' in BC, more p

  36. With all that has come to light about the shady dealings, financial irregularities, forced employee NDAs, firing of the chair and then the entire board by WE it is simply beyond belief that no one in the entire liberal government thought to simply google the so-called charity whilst doing their so-called 'due diligence'. If this is the way entities are investigated by this government, I wonder how many other under-the-table deals are going on right now with no oversight what-so-ever.

The 1st cop didn't have much he could do until backup arrived. He seemed to have patience but he was actually just stalling for backup to arrive. Then the chief resisted arrest. The 2nd cop came in too aggressive, the force was a tad excessive but the chief needed to be subdued. If you resist arrest expect to get hit. If this were a white person nobody would bat and eyelash. Right now one of 4 Canadians is off work at some time due to anxiety or depression and it costs billions in lost income each year due to work absences. This government has been accused of being harsh, insensitive, etc., but has just done something very progressive and enlightened. Right now if you have depression or anxiety you have to wait months to see a psychiatrist under OHIP. The psychiatrist is usually

And I discovered that I do not care much if I have a fish at the end of the line or a soiled diaper at the end of my litter picking stick; both are a measure of success. My rough estimate for our "virgin" Northern British Columbia roads running through what used to be breathtaking scenery is that you can fill up a bag every 50 to 100 meters doing both sides of the road. Buses crammed full of construction workers because they felt that they should be able to go to work if they wanted to and could keep 6' apart when they got there. The bus drivers who died weren't elderly or near the end of their lives, they left behind families who now have their lives ruined. 47. Lets steer this thread back to the title of the topic "pipeline protesters need to be jailed". I would say No - they need to be given a background on the issue at hand. The protesters claim that the Wetsuweten hereditary chiefs did not give permission for the natural gas pipeline. The truth is that a year ago, there were 5 hereditary chiefs, they voted 3 to 2 in favour of the pipeline (along with the wetsuweten elected chiefs). Then the 2 'against' hereditary chiefs gathered together some bully boys, and stripped the 3 'in favour' chiefs (all matriachs) of their credentials, on the ba

Delgamuukw did not settle the question of Wet’suwet’en title As protests in support of Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs opposed to the Coastal GasLink pipeline continue to rage across the country, a number of Wet’suwet’en and their supporters have pointed to the landmark Delgamuukw decision to support their position. That position is that the hereditary chiefs are the rightful title-holders of traditional land, and that only they can make decisions about what happens on that land. They cite the landmark Supreme Court of Canada Delgamuukw decision as affirming Wet’su

Climate change isn't significantly influenced by Canada's emissions from new oil sands development. It's a blip in the machine. Canada in total produces 1.6% of global GHG emissions. The USA is 15%. Canada shouldn't lead the way on emissions reductions, it should follow. There's no benefit to the world or to Canada in being a leader, only economic stagnation. The US, China, EU, India, Russia etc need to be leaders because they produce the most emissions
