I agree completely. That would be completely unrealistic.

In my opinion, our government and perhaps many others have made a major and fundamental blunder in handling this outbreak. This information is not by hindsight either. Respiratory viruses are known to do what this has done in old age homes. That is what happens each year, lug infections and pneumonia kill thousands of elderly Canadians each year. This is not something new due to Covid-19. If you live in or work with a "medical family" you would be aware of these things, otherwise probably not.

I'm very impressed that in a few short weeks you've become such an expert on virology that you can instruct people who have spent their lives studying it on what is the correct thing to do.

  2. It's interesting to watch how difficult this virus is to contain, even in a locked down situation. In Manitoba, where we are socially distant by nature, we've so far managed to keep the numbers low (just one new case in the last two days), but we still can't be complacent. North Dakota, which is just an hour's drive and even more naturally isolated and half the population of Manitoba, was getting the same number as Manitoba in March,  up into around 35 a day in early April, and is now around 67 new cases a day. You'd think that with fewer than 100 cases a day, they could contain it. Manitoba has been able to so far and has brought its numbers down from a high of 40. The only difference I can see is North Dakota (and the U.S. in general) has a less competent government.

Andrew Cuomo says Trump is right about the World Health Organization!

I recall waldo kicking in your teeth on this one and you slinking away with your tail between your legs when he asked you whether Cuomo said Trump was right to withdraw funding or just right to question them.

I'll allow you to continue slinking.

Except for 3M masks crossing the border....lots of Canadian begging for those.

I think we just got a shitload of masks from China. But one article that states the reality that some people on both sides are experiencing hardships because the border is closed doesn't mean we want to open it. That's a pretty weak attempt, even by your standards. Haven't you been following? Your president expressed a desire to open it soon, but Trudeau, being the sane, rational leader he is, rejected his pleas outright.

Nope....U.S. and Canada have agreed to keep the border closed....STAY...IN...CANADA.

Why is staying in Canada so bad ?

The U.S. border is very important to some Canadians, and they never want it closed because it means loss of access to many things not available in Canada.

Now it is closed...deal with it.

You seem to be under the impression people are complaining.  We are happy no one from your covide-infested shithole is coming here. You are in the worst place on the planet to be right now. We are rejoicing you aren't allowed here anymore. And no one wants to go there.

Nope....the record is clear...you made a point of this years ago.   The funny part is that you tried to insult me by claiming I lived in another Canadian city, as if Manitoba was so much better than SK.    LOL !!

Again, my point was clear. The fact that you insist on interpreting another way speaks to your own insecurities and inferiority complex.

  7. What part of South Dakota being a current hotspot with nearly 1000 cases just this week wasn't true? The governor was reluctant to enforce any effective measure of social distancing and now they're paying for it.

But don't worry. Nobody would want to visit your covide-infested shithole, despite that impressive 1990s-era Nickleodeon themepark in Mall of America.

My state is doing fine....don't need infected zombies from Ontario crossing the border.

Fine? It's skyrocketing with hundreds of new cases a day. That means it's spreading in the community still. Know how many new cases in Manitoba (which is a province on the other side of the fortunately closed border) we have this week? Less than 10. How many today? None. The number of people recovered is higher than the active caseload. That's what it looks like when it's competently managed. We're actually able to look at lifting many restrictions soon and will likely be among the first to do so. But our PM wasn't calling it a hoax in February,  so that's probably the difference.

New York and Michigan are showing significant declines in cases and hospitalizations.  I’m fact, New York is now discharging more people than they’re admitting.  South Dakota has barely any cases and only 7 deaths total.  It’s a non factor.

South Dakota is now a hotspot. Nearly a 1000 new cases just this week because of their halfwit governor.  You should feel shame that you're still spreading misinformation about this virus because of your insane loyalty to the GOP death cult.

I find it interesting that it's Trump that's pining for the border to re-open. No Canadian leader is all that eager right now.

Especially considering the current state of Michigan and New York.

Not to mention South Dakota. It's a stark contrast at the border here in Manitoba where our Conservative government took it seriously early on and we literally have a handful of new cases this week and the number of active cases is steadily declining. In South Dakota, they've had hundreds and hundreds of new cases because their leadership took the White House advice to downplay and try and ignore it. North Dakota is a little better off at more than 10 times the cases per capita compared to Manitoba, but still a shitshow of bad leadership.

What's with this crap about keeping the lights on? Every time I come in to work, every single light is on in the building.

Keeps people who don't wash their hands from infecting the light switches and transmitting the virus to others. Are you washing your hands?
