  1. Ted Cruz bailing on Texas and going to Cancun is classic GOP.

I think you're making up the definition of what you think Hypocrisy is.

It certainly isn't conflating two different things as evidence you care about one thing and not the other.

And if it was, you'd be one of the biggest offenders with your Biden Derangement Syndrome.

    2. Boges

BTW Gavin Newsom was totally guilty of hypocrisy. He was and deservedly so criticized for it.

Cruz left his constituents high and dry to sit on the beach. Imagine if Gavin Newsom did that during the fires?

      Compare similar things.

For those who failed school, here's a definition of pure hypocrisy (although Shady pretending he holds Republicans to the same standards as Democrats is the most extreme example).

  2. Who could have guessed that prioritizing tax cuts over infrastructure would lead to a failed state.

    1. Boges

      Boges

So it's only hypocritical to point out Texas' problems.

You can point out California's problems anytime.

The truth is, even Republicans admit Texas screwed this up bad. And unlike California they can't be helped by the rest of the country.

    2. Shady

      Shady

I’m only pointing out California now, because of your usual hypocrisy.  How about Puerto Rico’s power failures during their hurricane?  What about Ontario and Quebec during the ice storm a few years ago?

    3. Boges

      Boges

This wasn't a catastrophic storm in Texas, it just got cold.

The criticism comes from lying about renewables being the culprit. It was actually the fossil fuels that froze in the ground.

BTW Republicans always criticize Democratic run states for their infrastructure when they have a problem. See Ted Cruz and Trump. That's hypocrisy for you.

I remember fondly when Lunbaugh would run a sarcastically maudlin list of people who died that week of AIDS to mock them. It was hilarious in that it now allows us to mock his painful death.

“This shows how the Green New Deal would be a deadly deal for the United States of America,” Greg Abbott, Texas’ Republican governor, told Fox News about an ambitious but not enacted plan to rapidly phase out fossil fuels. “It just shows that fossil fuel is necessary for the state of Texas as well as other states, to make sure that we’ll be able to heat our homes in the wintertime and cool our homes in the summertime.”

Abbott’s attack contradicts the operators of the Texas grid, which is overwhelmingly run on gas and oil, who have confirmed the plunging temperatures caused gas plants to seize up at the same time as a huge spike in demand for heating. Nevertheless, images of ice-covered wind turbines, taken in Sweden in 2014, were shared widely among conservatives on social media as proof of the frailty of clean energy.

    3. Boges

Let's run our grid poorly and blame it on renewables when it fails.

Try not to feel bad, BubberMiley. No need to wake up to feelings of self-shame and hate any longer. Just remember, every day is another opportunity to redeem yourself.

      Little known fact:

Did you know the election irregularity suits are still before the supreme court. They most likely won't be heard until October if accepted though. Still...might be good. Closer to the mid-terms.

If the mid-terms are fair elections the Republicans win.

America and it would follow...the world, can still be saved. If they're as crooked as 2020 the Reps are, of course, toast. And it's another step close to the globalist oligarchy.

In the US congress, elections are, for the most part, unimportant. Almost all seats are safe in deep red or deep blue states, and most of the rest are so gerrymandered they're safe too. Those Republicans who show the least cooperation with the evil Democrats, or who show the least 'weakness' in supporting the party will be primaried by someone further to the Right. That's the only real threat they face, not elections.
