  1. MP Grewal changed his mind.

What I find notable is the low key way this is being handled by the media. Sure, they're reporting on it, but in a very ho hum sort of tone. If you recall when it was Duffy the media were like sharks in a feeding frenzy, over something far less significant than this sordid affair. Strange how that works.

No, betsy, when you take Parliamentary democracy in Grade 11, you'll learn how a PM is just another MP and can't force another MP to resign.

Duffy had 31 charges under the criminal code and was scamming money from the taxpayer. How many charges has Grewel been charged with? How much money did he steal? What, therefore. Makes this worse? Your own partisan wishful thinking? Sorry. You lose.

  4. New York Times, Politico and CNN (Clinton News Network)....blocked for the gaggle!  Hahahahaha

      betsy

They weren't banned.  They were blocked because they were not invited!  They weren't on the list of the press pool. This was just a gaggle.

      Quote

A press gaggle (as distinct from a press conference or press briefing) is an informal briefing by the White House Press Secretary which (as used by press secretaries for the George W. Bush administration) is on the record, but disallows videography. The term can also be used to refer to the informal interactions between the press and the press secretary that occur before a videotaped press briefing.[1]

One former member of the White House press corps provided the following historical context:[2]

"Gaggles" historically refer to informal briefings the press secretary conducts with the press pool rather than the entire press corps.

Take note of what happened to Fox News during the Obama admin.

      Quote

So far, none of the four other major networks has given any indication that they wish to disinvite Fox News from the White House pool -- the rotation through which the networks share the costs and duties of White House coverage and the most significant interaction among the news channels.

I suppose major networks has a say on the press pool.....and the major networks didn't mind at all that CNN and others, weren't on the list.  Hahahaha   They must be tired too, of CNN's being disruptive with all its repetitive questions! :D

  9. PM Trudeau had stated that, "it's not up to federal government to challenge Quebec niqab ban, however, he believes the Charter of Rights and Freedoms applies to everyone and that he will defend that principle."

    What's he on about?
Can you wear a stocking or a hockey mask in a bank? Can you wear a bikini in a justice court?
Can you wear just a speedo in school?

How does Trudeau relate to this EU ruling?

      Quote

In March, the EU's highest court ruled that a Muslim woman who was fired in Belgium over wanting to wear an Islamic headscarf at her job did not suffer from direct discrimination, because her employer had a general rule against religious or political displays.

You'd think the media will be talking non-stop about him - that there'll be at least weekly update on what's happening to this case.  And yet, silence.

He will be in court tomorrow, so I expect you will see some news then. The police investigation is still on-going. It is rumored that the police are not yet ready to lay additional charges, but reserve that right in the future. The defense has yet to say if they will go with the court ordered psychiatric assessment or will request one of their own, they are still awaiting disclosure of evidence. I expect those will be the topics discussed, but we will have to wait and see.

There have been some stories in the French media, but I haven't see much in the English media yet.

If Trump dies in office, every Trumpster would assume it was an assassination,  no matter how many docs certified it as natural causes or normal course of an illness.  Much better for the world if he's voted decisively out of office and continues to live a long life, descending the rest of the way into dementia.
