A healthy diet, plenty of rest and exercise does wonders for the body. Good for the mind too.

If you live in Prince Rupert you probably need chelation therapy as well.

  2. Lovely exchange at the border wall recently (courtesy of the Washington Post.)

Trump talking to reporters at border wall, describing the qualities of the new panels:

"One thing we haven't mentioned is technology. They're wired so that we will know if somebody's trying to break through. And you may want to discuss that a little bit, general."
    -- Trump

"Sir, there could be some merit in not discussing that."
-- Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite, acting head of the Army Corps of Engineers

  3. "It is a good deal to save all of humanity in the next five years,"

Well, that's that then!  I can't imagine anyone voting for anyone else in the upcoming election.

I mean, who wouldn't want humanity saved in the next five years?

It's the second most popular team sport on the planet.  Like the most popular team sport, the ball is the correct shape, and it's played on a proper surface.

Well, it's a good job nobody helped me out here.  I might have needed EMS intervention by the time that one ended.

@bcsapper I’m half way through the Deadwood movie.  It’s AMAZING so far!  And it seems like everyone that was in the previous season is in the movie.  The only person I haven’t seen yet is Sy.

Thanks Shady, that's good to hear.  With any luck I should be able to see it in a week or so.

  7. Religious nutjobs in Jerusalem fight with police as they protest the Eurovision Song Contest being held on the sabbath.

Is that really the best reason they can think of for protesting the Eurovision Song Contest?

  8. So Brunei has decided not to stone people for gay sex after all.  Such enlightenment.

That said, I wouldn't advise Out Adventures to add it to its itinerary any time soon.

The news report I saw said they promise not to "enforce" it.  It seems the law still stands.  I don't think they've really changed their mind on how they think gays should be treated.:(

    3. dialamah

      dialamah

Yeah, saying they won't enforce the law is hardly disavowing such an inhumane belief.  But at least they responded to international pressure as Uganda did a few years ago with its death to gays legislation.  Problem in both countries is that the "kill gays" mindset remains common and acceptable among its citizenry as well as the government so if someone decides to kill a gay person, I assume they'll be less subject to legal sanctions.  :(

  9. Why do people care about armpit hair?

    https://www.bbc.com/news/48061083

    One comment from the article:

''Women who are empowering armpit hair, good luck finding a man accepting you with it,'' posted another Instagram loser.

    Why are people so stupid?

Vaccine Nazis are all alike. You can vaccinate some of the people some of the time, but you can't vaccinate all the people all the time. And we've seen what happens when you try to completely eradicate something. It comes back even stronger.

    3. bcsapper

      bcsapper

Am I a vaccine Nazi or is the guy in Vancouver who failed to get his kids vaccinated because he was afraid of autism the vaccine Nazi?  I'm unsure.  As for eradicating something, it worked with smallpox, and it is 99% working with polio.  Just a few backwater holdouts where vaccinating a kid might get you killed.

  13. Looking at this, wouldn't the credit card owner have a case?  Then he or she could maybe share it with the thief.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-47077141

Perhaps the owner could just claim he or she had lent the card to the alleged thief, and then forgot about it.

  17. So many people spend so much time and effort trying to get a raise in the minimum wage, and all the time all it required was for someone to lob a petrol bomb at a cop.  Go figure!

Not that we have an epidemic of scooter robberies but Canadian cops must be envious. There is no way they could get away with something like that.
