  1. Inconvenient historical truth from Conrad Black: “There were never more than a relative handful of slaves in New France or British North America, apart from the numerous native slaves captured by warring tribes, a practice the British and French eventually ended.” - Maxime Bernier

It's an attempt to minimize the Slavery in the US by pointing a finger at other groups and saying, "SEE THEY DID IT TOO!"

      You are not contextualizing anything.

    3. Argus

It's an attempt at context, and a rebuttal to the progressive narrative that European/white culture is irredeemably racist and evil. Progressives focus solely on the misdeeds in the history of the white world and never allow for the fact they were actually MORE enlightened, and gentler than most of the rest of the world. Just like they focus on isolated acts of racism in America or Canada but ignore the vastly more common racism among non-white people elsewhere - or even here. We are the least racist countries on Earth but to hear the Left talk we're worse than anyone else.

So your are arguing against something entirely made up in your own head. Good to know. I’ll wait till you have an actual argument other than a strawman.

  2. Some of you have done NOTHING with your life and you're mad. You have a college degree & a smart phone with access to virtually *anything* and you can barely get out of bed in the morning while you spit on people who built a whole world with nothing but a horse, map, & axe.

  4. Our country is not perfect. But the reason why millions of people want to come here is because we are one of the most open, tolerant and free societies in history. Those who denigrate our society and see racism everywhere don’t want to improve it. They want to destroy it. Maxime Bernier

YA Baby , white privilege, I was born with a silver spoon stuck in my mouth, golden slippers on my feet and a titanium crown on my head, see I was born on the other side of the tracks, my father worked was a soldier plus he worked 2 other part time jobs , my mother worked the night shift at a local dinner.....I went to school with sandwiches made with only butter on them and on a good day molasses, "white privilege" my ass, everything I have today I owe to the hard work of my parents and their sacrifices...You want to feel guilty then fine , but don't pass your bullshit onto someone else, thats your guilt you keep it...And lets remember one thing it was not a conservative thats posed several times in a racist black face that was the liberals, because it is 2015 baby....

    3. Shady

In China or Japan, do they ever worry about Asian privilege?  Or any other parts of the world have to deal with this stuff?  Or is it just western countries?

    4. Argus

      Argus

No, the only countries which demonstrate constant angst and guilt and shame over it, and over their ancestors are white countries. There is no sense of shame or guilt in the middle east at all the people their ancestors slaughtered when they invaded India. There is no sense of guilt in Turkey at them having slaughtered or driven out all the Christians, nor any shame over their colonial period over other peoples. Quite the contrary, they feel pride in it and long for a return of the Ottoman Empire, or something like it.

    1. OftenWrong

      OftenWrong

Let's face it, it's being used as an attack on Donald Trump. Even the CBC loves doing that.

Because somehow they think Trump is responsible for this guy's death.

And while Trump is is a moron, he's not responsible for that and probably has done more for black American than Obama.

I found it rather disturbing for the PM to say that my culture was irredeemably racist & privileged. Who knew it was ALL my fault?

Anyways...sorry guys. I won't create viruses, start riots, loot stores or kneel on anymore black men's necks...anymore. I promise!

Yep. I guess life and death gets pushed aside when something important shows up, like protesting against imaginary racism in another country.

  11. There is no evidence the killing of George Floyd was racially motivated. Or even related to racism. The media have simply gone with their own beliefs and stated them as fact.

She's just going to argue the case that a pretend COVID-19 should replace the actual COVID-19 when the latter finally gives up the ghost.  Most western liberal governments will accept the plan.  Everyone else will not and AGW will come roaring back, but this time dirtier.

I'm aware that the solar minimum has been prolonged in this cycle. So what, we have seen other strange things in recent years happening out there. Never really looked before.

This could be fake news, meant to stir the panic-pot a little more. Hence "lockdown" period. Even the Sun is in lockdown, that's how screwed we are.

Some outlets imply this is the dawn of a new ice age. It is far more likely just good-old regular variation in seasonal temperature.

There are laws and standards that corporations have to adhere to.  Corporations, and all businesses.  They also have to respect intellectual property.  Nobody in China does.  No, it definitely IS a China thing.  We don't have the same issues with any other country.  Stop making excuses for their regime.  The one that covered up a deadly virus and then sent it out to the world.

  19. "[The opium trade] is a mere incident to the dispute. … The cause of this war is the kow-tow—the arrogant and insupportable pretensions of China, that she will hold commercial intercourse with the rest of mankind, not upon terms of equal reciprocity, but upon the insulting and degrading forms of the relation between lord and vassal." US President John Quincy Adams.

  20. Biden accuser loves Putin. "President Putin has an alluring combination of strength with gentleness. His sensuous image projects his love for life, the embodiment of grace while facing adversity. It is evident that he loves his country, his people and his job. President Putin’s obvious reverence for women, children and animals, and his ability with sports is intoxicating to American women. President Putin scares the power elite in America because he is a compassionate, caring, visionary leader." Tara Reade

All of these traits do not need to be shared by a nation; however, the more traits held in common, the greater cohesion the group possesses and the stronger the identity.  - anonymous

Dallas Morning News debunks yesterday’s labradoodle fake news story.  It’s just fake news after fake news after fake news.

Yes, the family of the HHS chief of staff sold fancy puppies, but that’s not how he got the job, and in any case he wasn’t in charge of the coronavirus task force, no matter what you’ve read online.

Well, that seems like a desperate attempt to change the subject from the verifiable stupidity you are trying to portray as false in a manner that is pathetic even by gaslighting Trumper standards.

Checks have already gone out.  This sounds like previous fake news stories.  Like Trump is profiting from hydroxychloroquine, or that the pentagon briefed Trump on corona virus in November.  They’re always based on unnamed sources, and then turn out to be wrong.  I know that’s it’s easy to believe because it reinforces everything you think of Trump.  But most of these stories turn out to be false.

    4. Argus

      Argus

How do you imagine this could be faked? The checks either will or will not have his name on them. There's no way to fake that.  https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/coming-to-your-1200-relief-check-donald-j-trumps-name/2020/04/14/071016c2-7e82-11ea-8013-1b6da0e4a2b7_story.html
