  1. Hi, I would like to heard people about what they are thinking about the french fact in Canada What do you think about the idea of a Bilingual Canada ? Do you think that Pierre Elliott Trudeau was right about that ? PS: In this topic I'm asking everybody to be respectful while sharing opinions Thank you
  2. For 40 years Canadians have seen the NHL expand into US markets where the locals have little interest in hockey. We understand that in some cases this has been a good thing for hockey, expanding interest in the sport and creating new hockey markets. We also understand that sometimes the local Canadian hockey market couldn’t afford to support the team, as was the case briefly in Winnipeg and Quebec, mainly due to the currency exchange rate. However, hockey markets like Montreal and especially Toronto are starving for additional NHL teams. Toronto could easily support an additional two teams, probably one west of the city and one to the north. NHL Commissioner Gary Betman shut down expansion into Toronto when investors wanted to move the money losing Phoenix Coyotes to Toronto. Betman would rather prop up money losing US teams than add teams in markets where people love hockey and would fill seats in arenas. Yes there are US expansion success stories, such as Nashville, but it’s ridiculous that teams like the Florida Panthers should exist while Toronto has only one NHL team. The city of Toronto is now bigger than the city of Chicago, which has two Major League Baseball teams. If Chicago can support two baseball teams, surely Toronto can support two hockey teams.
  3. The LAW, the thing that forces people to do things- is only as fair as the extent of external scrutiny (duh) but something obviously messed up will at least gain enough coverage to generate a response right? Well sure, but not before a whole host of people get screwed over. In cases like first world capitalism, no amount of coverage and outrage from a legally (and morally) wronged party, can evade the concrete consequences derived from violations cited on intentionally vague parameters covered by that very same law. The past 2 years, due to limited options, I've been working for a company (can't say) that is indeed founded out of Canada.. however the (U.S.) founders had simply maintained 'permanent' residency for a number of years, allowing them to claim Canadian citizenship and therefore establish Canadian founded business status for their new brand. This matters because the whole reason for this endeavor was so the 'new' company could circumvent the (somewhat) recent additions to anti-add and anti-spam laws to prevent U.S. based marketing tactics from overpowering local Canadian business. Well it turns out not even that can stop a determined U.S. businessman from (lawfully) stealing if they see enough potential to merit investing in a system that can achieve such a theft. If you're reading this, then please, for the sake of yourself and the sake of your loved ones read and pass along this REAL (and in my opinion, utterly distasteful) admittance to allowing vague laws to enable sales representatives for businesses to quite literally steal from others (the classic sign the contract, that just so happens to be indecipherable and says the complete opposite of what the plastic-smile sales representative just told you). Please note that this link outlines law that applies to U.S. AND Canadian based customers. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART- https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0195-some-home-security-systems-may-be-scams P.S. I know many reading this are going to say why are you wasting my time with this I already know better than to let a sales rep con me.. 3 reasons: 1. 80-90% of (wronged) customers will say the sales representative showed up at an interesting or 'destined' moment, providing (at the moment) so much more than just a killer deal on a sweet new sign-on product/service. They were helpers, friends, attractive, flattering, and almost seemed to understand their lifestyle and hobbies... please refer to https://www.theverge.com/2018/3/28/17172548/gdpr-compliance-requirements-privacy-notice which pretty much states your personal or any useful info- if it's ANYWHERE on the internet, it's free game for businesses to use. *this includes the ability to run credit tests without your consent/knowledge once enough info is obtained and automated programs that constantly trawl the internet for anything linked to a potential customer/area they've taken an interest in. 2. Contracts do not end with the death of the signing customer and many are a minimum of 3 years- some up to 8 for official services. Yes, the law can protect a company collecting on a contract (aka fees, monthly bills, collection bids, etc) to the next of kin, for a contract signed by the parent or spouse even if no one was ever notified about such a condition, as long as the contract was signed: the next of kin MUST pay the due in full. Meaning everything you're reading could affect you much more profoundly than you know even if you choose to never personally touch a contract, if they got your family by extension under extreme circumstances you must become involved (so better to prevent rather than struggle; simply by making sure as many people as possible are aware of this). 3. This is the information age, data in general is constantly being filtered and analysed by increasingly advanced AI, capable of spitting out easy to use, yet disturbingly effective actions and procedures to use on specific common personality types. If you don't believe me, please check out the attached picture(s). The first one is a 'chart' provided in some way to sales representatives, and it's how they get their 'in' with a paying customer. I guarantee you'll see yourself and agree that it at least somewhat illustrates the possibility of use against you. The second picture is simply a QR code meant to link any QR code scanner phone app to bring one directly to the FTC website, if possible- everyone should read the linked page from that code.. I spent valuable hours of my life (I'm 25 no joke, I work my ass off and this is my day off) to make this. It's because I've spent no less than the last 4 years listening to people cry to me (I do phone support) about how they were essentially lied to and then robbed. And it all came from a contract, a morally corrupt 'sales representative', and a complete lack of regulations in favor of protecting citizens simply because capitalism. Simply knowing they're out to finger your wallet should be more than enough to kneecap them halfway through their entirely false pitch and get them out of your hair and keep them out. Cheers.
  4. We the people of Canada DEMAND change in Government. We the people of Canada demand that the government that belongs to us and to whom we lend our democratic power to lead this country and to sit in opposition, change the laws that govern the behaviour of those politicians that take the oath of office. We are tired of the way that parties spend our hard-earned tax dollars on things that do not benefit this country. We are tired of the lies by all parties and we are tired of the personal agendas that you all bring into the house of commons instead of working toward the common goal of bettering this great nation. We are tired of the ethics violations, the misappropriation of money that does not belong to you and the way you spend on other countries while here in Canada our own go without. We are tired of the way Canadians are left out in the cold as soon as you take office and the opposition all of a sudden becomes sanctimonious in the way they say they want to save us. We are tired of the Pandering politicians on all sides. We are tired of the insider trading. We are tired of the wealthy being the ones that you listen to and not us average Canadians because in fact most of you have never worked a solid day in your life. We are Tired of the way that the people we elect as our Members of Parliament stop speaking for us the moment they are told to tow the party line. We are tired of the way the country gets ignored because as soon as you take power and the house sits you then worry about the next election rather than worrying about us the people. We demand change and we have some changes we want: 1. We the people demand, not ask, that recall be brought into law. 2. We the people demand that restricted parliamentary privilege be restricted to times that it is a benefit to the country not the politicians. 3. We demand that under conditions that regular Canadians would lose their jobs that the same apply to politicians in the same fast manor. 4. We demand that if fired there is an end of your pension no if ands or buts. 5. We demand that any financial penalties that politicians receive be proportional to the wages they earn so as to sting them as we the citizens get stung. 6.We the people demand that when a politician ends his term that he not use political influence to enrich himself or family, if they do they are to be prosecuted. 7. We demand that all monies earned by the writing of books or speaking engagements by any serving politician or politician that has served (because they were only in that position to serve the country) should be paid to charity. 8. We demand that any politician caught deliberately lying to the citizens of this country be removed from office immediately. 9. We demand that any politician working against the people of this country be removed from office and if deemed serious enough be charged in a court of law. These demands are put before you by citizens of all political parties, All genders and all races. We the citizens of Canada have had enough of governments dividing the peoples and spending recklessly so as to force our taxes to a level that makes it hard to support our families.

  6. I'd like to have a sincere discussion about what type of improvements we can make to the MLW forums. I want to attract more members, and I think the best way to do that is to appeal to the existing membership for ideas and opinions on what we could do to make this forum the best in class. I'm not just interested in new forum features, but modifications to existing forum features. This is an open thread, so lets hear from everyone, but PLEASE keep it on topic. The sky is the limit, I'm interested in all suggestions.
  7. I would like to know if anybody else has had a similar experience. I have recently bought an used camera on ebay.com I paid $1000 for the product, $60 for shipping which is high but I accepted that. and additional to it $80 for import taxes to bring it to Canada. All that I agreed to pay. No problem with that. My problem is that after a month I received an invoice from FedEx ground for $222.30. Thinking it was a mistake I called them and explained that I have already paid for shipping but they said that was also for importation I told them on ebay you paid that in advance and I am not paying that amount so they said they would contact the sender. In the meantime I keep receiving the "payment reminders" from FedEx till I received a demand of payment from a financial institution. I called them again to see what is happening they say all the amount is duty taxes that it doesnt have anything to do with what I have already paid on ebay. So I ask them how come its such a high amount... To make the story shorter I said and would like to dispute the payment because I didnt find it fair so they the transferred me to the broker company which the one that bills Fedex they said customs charges the gst the rest its the broker's fee and all this happens when Fedex ground is used. I still can't believe the % I have to pay in addition to all the charges I have previously paid. They didnt offer a different solution other than paying the whole amount. I have previously purchased from ebay many many things and this is the first time it happens so if its Fedex thing -which I didnt choose the sender did. I´ll just make sure to never ever use their service and make sure that every time I buy something the senders dont use it either if not I´ll be expecting to pay 25% more of the original bill. All this over an used product bought not from a company. Maybe it's just me but I dont see it normal
  8. Canada’s has announced to China that Canada has no freedom of speech and no human right last Friday. Gao Xiao Song is a popular Chinese music producer, songwriter, film director, novelist. He has even produced a song for Celine Dion in 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1DFQkAsAmI His Talk Show “Xiao Song Talk on Wied Things” is the No. 1 online Talk Show in the world, the show has accumulated viewership of over 850 million, highest in the world, one recent episode has over 40 million hits, has also set the record high. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gao_Xiaosong Xiaosong works very hard on the show, he went and talked Europa, America, Latin America, Russia ...... he even went to the South Pole. At the same time he also talked about astronomy, geography, and unofficial talk of foreign things, no matter it is right or wrong, political correct or wrong. However, can hundreds of millions of clicks show audience's approval? The scripts of the first 24 episodes of the talk show have been published. Over 400,000 were sold. The Talk show releases every Friday morning at 8 am on Youku (Nasdaq: yoku), swpet all the talk show awards in China. The last episode was released on Friday, Aug 19. It talked many nice parts of Canada: http://www.iqiyi.com/v_19rrlz6vu4.html However, on the Friday of last week (Aug 26), there was no episode released. This even makes many viewers think if Friday had arrived or not. Gao Xiao Song has to explain to the audience: Gao Xiaosong Celebrity certification http://tw.weibo.com/gaoxiaosong At 9:20 on August 27, 2016 Attention has concerned In fact, very free speech in Canada, criticized the government criticized the United States or China casually. But this time they are sent to the relevant e-mail and say that aboriginal human rights and an independent Quebec is absolutely not to mention, if the broadcast will be threatened "to rise to the height of very serious political consequences." As advertised freedom and equality in Canada, feel then? ! Xiaosong at 8:25 on August 27, 2016 On induced Xiaosong Qi audience: this program interviewed a Canadian First Nations (indigenous people) of a sheikh, certainly in the current Government of Canada First Nations policy, through the mouth of the chiefs about their historical experience. And commended New Zealand, the United States criticized the aboriginal policy. Unexpectedly strong Canadian authorities were obstructed, resulting in the program indefinitely postponed the broadcast. Telling the truth is fundamental of my talk show. If I cannot tall the truth, I would rather talk nothing at all. 9. Considering the stink made about Senator Duffy and Rob Ford and Karlheinz Schreiber, I am a bit shocked that Canadian investigative reporters won't dig into massive drug smuggling and money laundering Harper allowed to take place on our soil - especially since the bulk of the black profits went to the yanks. Aside from the $3 million made by Harper, only Levesque and Nesbitt Burns (and the bikers who handled the nation-wide distribution) made the big bucks. But the end users of all this cocaine and heroin included our high school and uni students. Are we supposed to let Stephen just ride off into the sunset with a fat pension for deliberately ignoring and allowing the posioning of our kids - especially at the expense of Canadian investors? RE: http://AmericanFinancialGroupFraud.wordpress.com Harper did far more than just "look the other way". He made sure that two eye witnesses were rushed out of Canada by using his Justice and Immigration Ministries as political weapons. With these two guys in Canada Harper risks spending the balance of his life in prison, that is why Gorcyca and Ingvaldsen simply had to go. The media toyed with Rob Ford until the video turned up. There has, according to court records and sworn private investigator's report been both audio and video tapes about this huge drug ring for years. Why is the Canadian media afraid to make those tapes public or track down a copy of these seized book manuscripts; http://www.worldlawdirect.com/forum/off-topic-messages/91146-uncle-sam-seized-book-manuscripts-protect-jeb-bush.html Hrper went out of his way to approve a fake extradiiion of a former federal agent to keep his own ass out of jail. If the media will not hold our pols accountable on the big down and dirty stuff most foul, why bother with Rob Ford's drug addiction? Why does Canada, just like America punish whistle blowers instead of help them. We are becoming the 51st state and our media is asleep at the switch, or somehow standing to gin from all the corruption they deliberately ignore??? http://www.veteranstodayforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1229
  10. I came across this cartoon recently and I laughed out loud. It's perfect, not because of its intended message, but because it is the perfect caricature of western alienation. And let's be clear, when we say western alienation, we really mean Alberta with support from Saskatchewan and the oil producing parts of BC. (We who are truly on the west part of Canada probably have less in common with Alberta than with the maritime provinces). This is the image that Brad Wall and his acolytes see when they look at Canada. Poor Alberta and Saskatchewan doing all the work that will benefit everyone but the freeloaders in Ontario and Quebec don't appreciate it. Meanwhile, 6 provinces and 3 territories don't even exist. In case anyone doesn't get it, this is the image they have when Alberta is selflessly trying to build a pipeline to pump their toxic sludge across Canada to save this great nation but the ungrateful NIMBY's in Ontario and Quebec are too stupid to get it. The reality is that Alberta and Saskatchewan, with their gold-rush mentality on shipping raw commodities as fast as possible, put Canada in this vulnerable state by artificially inflating the dollar and tilting the economy towards less skilled. more volatile economic pursuits. Meanwhile, Ontario, Quebec, BC and the other provinces, with their more diversified and sustainable economies, are now providing a stabilizing influence. Full disclosure: I lived in Alberta and was unemployed with few marketable skills during the height of the recession in the early 80's. I heard all of the stories (mostly nonsense) about how it was all the fault of the National Energy Policy. The truth was that Alberta allowed its economy to become too dependent on a single volatile economy and didn't use the good times to diversify. And we paid the price when the inevitable downturn hit. In other words, exactly the same situation as now.
  11. I was told my previous post about the 15 years of drug smuggling into Canada by friends of Oliver North and Jeb Bush was deleted because of the graphic photo of the executed Barry Seal, which by the way autloaded when I inserted the you tube link (in other words, you tube inserted the photo - not me) Here's the summary of my previous post... It is alleged that our former PM was given $3 million (either an outright bribe or a campaign contribution) by Canadian Mike Huxtable on behalf of Jeb Bush and Oliver North's smuggling team which flew over $1B of cocaine (wholesale value) into Canada over a 15 year period, and even after getting caught by honest mounties in Sakatchewan in 1997, (both Huxtable and a corrupt retired FBI agent named Terry Nelson were arrested), continued after a 6 month recess. The source is a veteran DEA agent and two witnesses who tried to blow the whistle (Erling Ingvaldsen and a former U.S. Treasury agent named Bruce Gorcyca were booted out of the country - with the help of a corrupt Brampton lawyer, who himself was arrested for child abuse and the subject of a 200 page Law Society complaint http://bruceslawsocietycomplaint.wordpress.com. Five insiders actually wrote books about Bush's involvement in Canada with four proxies of FBI Terry Nelson (now retired), Canadian Mike Huxtable (a personal friend of Stephen Harpers), a Florida Lawyer named Stephen J. Finta, and a former RCMP Colonel named Pierre Jeanette from Montreal. Gorcyca also wrote a book and then sought sanctuary in Canada after federal agents seized his book manuscripts at gunpoint, and five witnesses named in the manuscripts were murdered (George Morales, Al Chalem, Canadian John Pierre Gonyou, Johnny Molina, and Stephen Finta) See: http://www.worldlawdirect.com/forum/law-news/91146-uncle-sam-seized-book-manuscripts-protect-jeb-bush.html For those quick to shout "conspiracy theory" or suggest I wear a tinfoil hat, you may want to do a little background homework first since NONE of these authors were ever sued for libel or slander by Bush or anyone ellse they accused: Daniel Hopsicker: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0970659105 wrote BARRY & THE BOYS and all the sources found in this article: http://www.worldlawdirect.com/forum/human-rights/91228-will-pm-trudeau-right-wrong-harpers-fake-extradition-bruce-gorcyca.html Also read this book by a former U.S. Navy Commander Al Martin: THE CONSPIRATORS, http://www.amazon.com/The-Conspirators-Secrets-Iran-Contra-Insider/dp/097100420X and another by a highly decorated USA Army General named Russ Bowen who used to work with Bush father during his CIA Director days. http://www.amazon.com/Immaculate-Deception-Crime-Family-Exposed/dp/092235680 IMMACULATE DECEPTION - INSIDE THE BUSH CRIME FAMILY There is is also even better reading material in the exhibit sections of that Law Society complaint above espcially the 11 page sworn report of Canadian Private Investigator Ed Reiken. It also details a $43 million investment fraud scheme that Harper is alleged to have covered-up as well as per http://rabble.ca/babble/election-2015/43-million-secret-reasons-not-to-vote-steven-harper-yet-another-cover And this was takend from another forum: "Take a look this http://www.copi.com/articles/Montana/980326dh.html Anyone with a brain between their ears will know that this is not some "conspiracy theory". The dots are now easy to connect but it seems nobody has the courage to investigate Harper who is alleged to have taken either a $3 million bribe, or a $3 million campaign contribution... "The veteran DEA agent just looked at me in silence for almost a minute with a fully frustrated look on his face, then finally admitted "We know that $3 million went from Jeb to Harper through Nelson's group in 2010. Finta delivered the cash to Huxtable who had a late night meeting with Harper. We requested a court order for wiretaps but were turned down. The DoJ keeps getting in our way and if we push this issue, we will all get transferred to Nogales!" This was not the first time I heard about interference from the top. When I met with XXXXXX and XXXX I got pretty much the same feedback. But at least XXXX was determined to nail Finta. Once Finta was bagged and facing a 30 year sentence XXXX was sure the "fat fuck lawyer" would roll over on everyone. I agreed with him and also suggested they go after Fischetti and the accountants. He asked me if I had the names of the accountants and I gave him one. He jotted it down in his notebook. Officially he said he was not assigned to the Nelson case, because the "Nelson case" no longer existed officially - thanks to Don Gregg and the DoJ. He further admitted that he was not even supposed to be in Beijing but his former partner XXXXXXXX asked him to "check in on Gorcyca". I am glad that he did. I was still worried about the two shootings at our home in Mississauga and now that I heard Soave was retiring, we would have nobody to call for help. Soave and Besson both knew the score but both said Ottawa was calling the shots when we decided China was the best "temporary solution". I told XXXX about my meeting with Ms. Frazier at the Renascence Center in Toronto and I played some recordings for him of my conversations with Maury and XXXX. He grabbed my arm and said "Listen Bruce, you are preaching to the choir. I believed your story after I first spoke with Maury and read the Reiken report. Save those recordings for the people who don't believe you." Despite his assurances and support he still asked me for a copy of them so I gave him the USB - one of seven I made and gave to various friends I had around the world. If anything happened to me or my family, I asked my friends to post everything on line and give copies to two reporters that had been asking me for interviews for more than five years. The only person that I wanted to speak with was not able to communicate with me and I still do not know for sure if my courier package actually reached their hands. My emails had been locked or blocked for months as were most all of my skype calls. Just to call my wife and kids I would have to buy a phone card and use the landline at a local business or hotel. They were doing a good job of isolating me in China, but I was determined to keep my family together. Without communications, that is not easy to do." Note: Atty. Stephen J. Finta was murdered with an induced heart attack in July of 2012, two weeks before the DEA planned to arrest him. My sources suspect the NSA was spying on the DEA's South Florida task force - by executive order for more than five years. Finta had served as a paid FBI informant and Nelson's front man since 1986. It was Finta who delivered the $16 million in cash to the offices of American Financial Group in 1996." Lastly the guys in Montreal at GlobalReasearch.ca seem to know all about Bush as well: http://www.globalresearch.ca/jeb-bush-the-mexican-drug-cartel-and-free-trade/5448747 So in summary, if some way, some how America elects Jeb Bush as President, Canada will be flooded with even more cocaine from the yanks. It got so bad in the late 90s that local citizens even sent a open letter of protest to the FBI director http://www.copi.com/articles/Montana/971215.html Will Trudeau also turn a blind eye to drug flights from America? How ironic their government doesn't want Americans to buy prescription drugs in Canada! P.S. Since I am not allowed to post the youtube video about the hit on Barry Seal, I guess you have to Google it for yourself ("Youtube.com, Barry Seal, murder") Btw... this was also taken from that other forum and show the cocaine trail into Canada starting about 1990. To be clear Harper was not part of the smuggling ops, he just ignored them when he was told about them by both the DEA, RCMP, and some inside informants.. link
  12. My family has been in the oil and gas business for almost 80 years and neither my father nor uncles think the Nexen deal was a good one for Canada. They say if China was so desperate for oil they would have settled for 49% and Canada was dead erong to give controlling interest to the Chinese. Would we have made the same deal with the Russians? So why would take such a risk with China? This basically gave Canada's self-sufficiency a bullet to the head because in 20 years or so Canadian oil will be going to China and we'll be importing American oil! Canada should never be dependent on foreign countries - any foreign country for oil. We saw the bribery taking place with the Chinese on the lumber deal, and I wonder if the same may have influenced such a bad decision on the Nexen deal?
  13. Canada Needs Direct Election Of The Prime Minister By Exegesisme On studying the House of Commons(1), I proposed eight reforming directions of the federal politics on the eight weaknesses I had found in my study(2). On continuing study and deep thinking(1)(3), I found that there is a rather large proportion of federal politics that is unconstitutional(4), Canada needs to reconstitute(5). Although "the predominant role and influence played by the Prime Minister of Canada both in Cabinet and in the executive branch in general"(6), and "the subordinate position of the practice of responsible government"(6) are not for formally written in any constitutional document, they are seen as a part of constitution as "regularly observed" "unwritten conventions" (6). Although "the Constitution provides for a broad set of individual rights and freedoms, most of which are stated in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms"(6), "the Charter only states these rights and freedoms in very general terms", and "their precise meaning is interpreted and clarified by the Canadian judiciary (and, in particular, the Supreme Court of Canada)."(6) In practice of the Constitution of Canada, "the predominant role and influence played by the Prime Minister" is highly over "the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms", which are still "in very general terms", and "their precise meaning" are waiting to be "interpreted and clarified by the Canadian judiciary". Such a strong power on such a weak people! This actuality makes even the MPs in the House of Commons to give up their freedom and their responsive duty to the power of the Prime Minister system and the potential Prime Minister system(1). For the central position and the publicity of the House of Commons, the practice in the house of Commons would highly likely paly crucial role in reshape the whole nation of Canada. The passion, initiative and creativity of the Canadian people are seized by the unreasonable concentration of the power of the Prime Minister. However, in another aspect, in the present arrangement of the Constitution, we see that the Prime Minister needs to concentrate the power as possible as she or he can for both the legislative role and the executive role of the Prime Minister. If the prime minister is not strong enough to get the support of the majority in the House of Commons, her or his government would resign, which increases the instability of the politics and makes less prediction of future. Therefore, Canada needs the direct election of the Prime Minister, which endows the power to the Prime Minister and makes the power of the executive branch independent of the legislative branch, and makes the Government of Canada more sustainable and predictable. And in the legislative branch, the MPs and Senators(in future as they are elected) enjoy more freedom to represent their constituents from the policy of their party. For this reason, we need to amend the Constitution. 14. This is a REAL question but a mod suggested it was a farce and deleted my original post. THIS IS NOT A FRIVOLOUS POST!!!!. Harper has been in office for over decade and I really cannot find any achievement that benefited ALL Canadians - only wealthy businessmen. What will be his legacy - Secrecy? He should come to this thread and personally remind all of us how he helped us live better lives and how. Do YOU feel we have a better life than we did 10 years ago? How has Harper improved education, immigration, and our economy? We still have one of the highest tax rates in the world. Do you feel more or less confident about our economy and future today with Harper at the helm? In my own personal opinion, PM Harper spent most of his time concealing trade deals until they were already done and gave no time nor space for public debate or review by the House of Commons. In a way he is just a much smarter version of George W. Bush and far more secretive as well. He has put our troops in a precarious situation that basically invites terrorists to come seek revenge in Toronto or Vancouver. To be fair, he did the right thing to embrace refugees from Syria, but one right move does not make for a legacy IMHO. So those of you who think Steven Harper has done more good than harm for Canada, please step up here and provide a list of 10 achievements that benefited every Canadian and not a niche group of bankers or businessmen. Anyone who does not think this is a damn serious question and topic is simply a biased conservative. Hopefully Admin is more objective. This is a subject quite worthy of a real debate. Am I wrong to expect one real achievement for every year in office?
  15. I'm not talking about Harper, Mulroney, Martin or any one politician. I am talking about any and all politicians who uses their position to conceal felony crimes by having files sealed or investigations derailed, or refusing to fund an inquiry. Because they have authorities to control and manipulate investigative agencies and regulatory bodies and bureaus, they effectively can get away with a lot of graft and corruption. This is especially true when they can hand-pick the heads of these agencies who then run interference for them if their are "irregularites". So, since they have this unique ability to delay and derail investigations, should we not have a special law that eliminates he statute of limitations for their crimes, or at least do not start the clock until they leave office? A good example is the Schreiber scandal. Mulroney could not be criminally prosecuted because the statute of limitations expired. But we did not learn of the accusations for years because he made damn sure everything was so well hidden. I thnk such a law might make these pols realize that their impunity is only temporary and they might actually be held legally responsible for their criminal adventures - eventually. Politicians that are lawyers and know how to manuever the legal system and shop judges are even more likely to get away with super crimes. What do you guys think?
  16. Whoever wins the election should charge all foreign visitors a $100 entrance tax per every month they remain in Canada unless and until they leave or become a resident. This money could then subsidize our school system which has been getting way too many budget cuts. Our kids need to come first. What say you all?
  17. I am a bit curious we do not see more women in leadership roles in Canada. Beverly McLachlin, Olivia Chow, Eve Adams, Carolyn Parrish and others are young, bright, and known to be resourceful, creative, and objective. Is there a reason there seems to be a gender barrier to the Canadian throne?
  18. Canada's christians are not full time Christians. They pretend to be Christians every week when they attend Church service and recite prayers but come Monday they do not live very Chritian like lives. It seems we let our government get away with way too much unethical conduct overseas that is really unChristian like. Ususally Ottawa does whatever Washington dictates with little regards for the blowback to Canada and makes every Canadian Christian look like a hypocrit. The Arar and Khadr cases are just two typical examples, but Immigration policy in general seems anti-christian to me.
  19. My Criticisms and Reforming Suggestions for the Canadian Political Party System By Exegesisme Criticism 1, Technical definition for machines of election, can not provide great leadership to meet the great demand of great creativities of Canadian nation and Canadian people. On information: In Canada, for example, the Canada Elections Act defines a political party as: “an organization one of whose fundamental purpose is to participate in public affairs by endorsing one or more of its members as candidates and supporting their election.”(1) Suggestion 1: defining political party by conscience, for example, conservative conscience, liberal conscience, NDP conscience, green conscience, and so on. Republic representative conscience providing great leadership re-organizes each individual conscience through different branches and different levels. Criticism 2, Electing interests of a party overtakes the interests of the nation and the people. On information: Under Canada’s parliamentary system, the political party with the most MPs in the House usually forms government. Once in power, the governing party (or its leader) is entitled to fill a broad range of positions in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. Examples include the cabinet ministers, executive staff (to fill key roles in the Prime Minister’s Office), the Governor General of Canada, members of the Senate, and justices of the Supreme Court of Canada.(1) Suggestion 2: each MPs in the House of Commons must speak and must vote on her or his conscience. Criticism 3, Very bad example of the political culture in the House of Commons. On information: In this context, political parties operate as agents of political culture, teaching the “rules of the game” to citizens. Other key agents of political culture include the family, the formal education system, religious institutions, the mass media, and government itself.(1) Most MPs are members of a political party and, as such, are required to follow the wishes of their party when deliberating and acting in the House. In Canada party discipline is much more acute than in other western democracies. In the United States and the United Kingdom, for example, representatives enjoy considerably more freedom from their parties. Canadian MPs, however, are expected to follow the direction set by their parties' leadership and caucus — even when that direction is in opposition to their views or the demands of their constituents.(2) Suggestion 3: conscience as the only fundamental standard in the House of Commons. Criticism 4, The machines of election in Canada faraway from the people. On information: Estimates suggests only between 1 percent and 2 percent belong to parties on an ongoing basis, placing Canadian party membership near the bottom of a list vis-à-vis many other western democracies (Carty & Cross, 2010).(1) In Canada, the parliamentary wings of parties stay continually active. The extra-parliamentary wing, by contrast, is often dormant, becoming active only during important events in the party’s life, such as election campaigns, leader selection or review, and large-scale reforms of the party’s policies. This is in contrast to other countries, such as Britain, where the extra-parliamentary wings of parties stay continually active, mobilizing electoral support and engaging the general public.(1) Suggestion 4: conscience as core links the nation, the parties, and the people. Criticism 5, The mixture or ill-separation of legislative branch and executive branch weakens general representative function. On information: The parliamentary wing consists of the party’s elected members in Parliament, which usually includes the leader and members of the party caucus. This wing is responsible for party activities in the legislative and executive branches of government, such as voting on legislation, participating in parliamentary committees, and selecting government officials.(1) Suggestion 5: the three branches of power should be well-separated for reconstituting the leadership of the whole nation to a higher level. Criticism 6, A set of a few through an alien system, which representative function of the people is very weak, rules all. On information: In theory, for a political party, the convention is the ultimate authority. In practice, however, the party’s leadership and elite tend to dominate party life (see below for more on party leadership).(1) Party organization also includes the local constituency level. The major parties usually have organizations in individual electoral districts, which oversee the activities of the party at the local level. These organizations are led by constituency executives who recruit volunteers and raise funds for election campaigning. This local level also plays a role in the election of convention delegates and the nomination and selection of candidates.(1) It is important to note that the concept of responsible government has a particular meaning in Canadian parliamentary democracy. At first glance, one might think it means it is about government being responsible or accountable to the people over whom it governs. In Canada's parliamentary system, however, it means ― more precisely ― that government is responsible to the elected representatives of the people.(2) Suggestion 6: the set of the few should be deeply and accountably connected with the whole. Criticism 7, "The elected representatives of the people" do not really represents the people, but represents their parties as they vote in the House of Commons. On information: (Criticism 2 information(2)) Suggestion 7: each MP should reestablish her or his conscience with the people in the relevant constituency through the campaign of an election and routine connection. Criticism 8, The opposing influence effects extremely, no important influence on the government or overthrowing the government, and lacks establishing opposing influence. On information: If the party is not in power, the leader directs the caucus in opposing the government and its policies (where there is discord), raising criticisms of government actions and providing alternate policies. The leader usually oversees a shadow cabinet, made up of senior caucus members who focus on specific areas of public policy in their criticisms of the government.(1) Suggestion 8: the executive branch should have its own constitutional resources for its stability, and then the legislative branch can establish a situation for free speech and free vote on the republic conscience of each MP. Criticism 9, Policymaking process lacks general, strong and effective checks and balances. On information: At a very minimum, parties must develop platforms during elections which set out their course of action if the party is successfully elected to govern. In formulating policy, however, parties often face a difficult dilemma (Dyck, 2008). On the on hand, parties aim to provide party members with an opportunity to put forward and debate policy ideas. On the other, parties need to protect against adopting policy commitments that are unrealistic or may be detrimental to electoral success.(1) Suggestion 9: Canadian people need general political education for understanding the core position of their political rights in their life-time benefits, which strengthens the grassroots of policymaking and influence. Criticism 10, regionalism is a symptom of Ill-representative function of ill-party system and ill-federal politics. On information: Many of these new parties are or have been based around a particular region and its interests. The Bloc Québécois, for example, runs candidates only in the province of Quebec, with Quebec nationalism serving as its key policy plank. The Reform Party (and its later incarnation, the Canadian Alliance) was a western-based party that focused on themes including western alienation and seeking a voice for western interests in national politics.(1) Instead of parties aggregating and accommodating interests on a national scale, Canada is left with a set of parties which are largely regionally based, focused predominantly on a given region’s interests. While this may be a valid charge, it is important to note that regional parties are an do articulate interests that may otherwise be marginalized in the political system. In this vein, the creation of the Reform Party/Canadian Alliance and Bloc Québécois parties was, in part, the result of perceived deficiencies in the existing political system at the time, where the interests of central Canada (and, in particular, Ontario) were thought to dominate.(1) Suggestion 10: synthetic reformation aims to form Republic Representative Conscience for Republic Representative Function. 20. Real Representatives and False Representatives By Exegesisme The real representative is Germany, which I see from Germany Constitution. "Article 38 [Elections] (1) The deputies to the German House of Representatives [bundestag] are elected in general, direct, free, equal, and secret elections. They are representatives of the whole people, not bound by orders and instructions, and subject only to their conscience."(a) The false representative is in Canada, which I see from this website.(b ) "Whether MPs should act as delegates or trustees, both views of representation are constrained by another reality of Canada's parliamentary tradition: party politics and discipline. Most MPs are members of a political party and, as such, are required to follow the wishes of their party when deliberating and acting in the House. In Canada party discipline is much more acute than in other western democracies. In the United States and the United Kingdom, for example, representatives enjoy considerably more freedom from their parties. Canadian MPs, however, are expected to follow the direction set by their parties' leadership and caucus — even when that direction is in opposition to their views or the demands of their constituents." My comment: Canada representatives should be collectively shameful to work in such an upset system and without do any useful job to change this system, as comparing to the representatives in Germany. They even can not keep their conscience as they vote in this system. The behaviors of the representatives and their parties in the House of Commons are unconstitutional, their parties even force them lose their constitutional fundamental freedom of conscience, and they even do not dare to stand up to protect their own constitutional fundamental freedom of conscience in the House of Commons. "2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms: (a) freedom of conscience and religion; (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and (d) freedom of association."(c ) And farther more, Our Canada Constitution should be shameful, for even nowadays there still is not clear written constitutional chapter for the executive branch to use the executive power. "Canada’s Constitution is also based upon numerous unwritten conventions. These are rules and norms that have never been formally written in a constitutional document, but are regularly observed nevertheless. Many of these unwritten rules have been inherited from Britain (with some modification), while others are unique to the Canadian constitutional context. Important examples include the predominant role and influence played by the Prime Minister of Canada (in Cabinet and in the executive branch in general)."(d ) Through these unwritten conventions, the executive branch has been stealing the power of the legislative branch and has been depriving the clear written constitutional fundamental freedom of conscience of those MPs. My conclusion: the executive branch has not enough obvious written constitutional resource to practice its leadership, through the unwritten conventions "secretly" steals the power of the legislative branch, and cause heavily potential conflicts with other obvious written constitutional contents. The constitutional inner conflicts should be fixed as soon as possible. Reference: (a) http://www.servat.unibe.ch/icl/gm00000_.html (b ) http://mapleleafweb.com/features/house-commons-introduction-canadas-premier-legislative-body (c ) http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/const/page-15.html#h-39 (d ) http://www.mapleleafweb.com/features/canadian-constitution-introduction-canada-s-constitutional-framework
  21. My Acute Concept Of Canada For Long Future By Exegesisme "Political parties play a central role in Canadian democracy and government, representing an important link between the state and society."(1) If you are a Canadian, how do you feel when you read the quoted sentence? I do not know what you feel, really. Here, I tell you what I feel, as a Canadian. My real feeling is, very unhappy with this expression in this way. Why? A, the Name and Identity of Canada Do you hear something about Canada globally? I once heart that peoples globally often takes Canada as the fifty-first state of the USA. In the expression, Canada is "the state", which means a state or one state, but the USA has 50 states. The whole name of the USA is the United States of America. So, you are a state and in America, and more clearly, and they are the United States of America. On name and logically, it is very reasonable that you are seen as "one state of their United States of America". However, the truth is, you are not one state, you have thirteen states, and you are a federal of these thirty states. So, I think, the whole name of Canada should be "the United Canadian States". Now, we are not a state, we are the "United Canadian States". How do you feel, if you are a Canadian? B, the Skeptical Unconstitutional Political Practice This is not the only reason which causes my unhappiness in the quoted sentence. How do you think "Canadian democracy"? The expression "Canadian democracy" is the second reason which causes my unhappiness. Let's see. By definition, A democracy "is ruled by the omnipotent majority. In a democracy, an individual, and any group of individuals composing any minority, have no protection against the unlimited power of the majority. It is a case of Majority-over-Man."(2) If our Canadians only have democracy, according to this definition, our minority will "have no protection against the unlimited power of the majority", and each one of us has the possibility to become one of minority in this way or that way. This is terrible. So, I am certainly not happy if our Canada only has democracy, or only stresses democracy too much. However, according to the definition of republic, "A republic is a representative democracy with a written constitution of basic rights that protect the minority from being completely unrepresented or overridden by the majority"(2), our Canadians have "a representative democracy" "with a written constitution of basic rights" "that protect the minority from being completely unrepresented or overridden by the majority". So, I am luck that Canada is a republic which is more than a democracy. This happiness is not so much. As I have been studying further, I found that our Canadian style of republic is very weak. Our unwritten constitutional conventions give "the predominant role and influence played by the Prime Minister of Canada", but "the Charter only states these rights and freedoms in very general terms" , and "their precise meaning is interpreted and clarified by the Canadian judiciary (and, in particular, the Supreme Court of Canada)" (3). The quoted information means our rights and freedoms in our constitution are only in very general terms, and their precise meaning is waiting the interpretation and clarification by the Canadian judiciary, especially the Supreme Court of Canada. The weakness of our Canadian style of republic has been tested in our Canadian style politics. "In Canada party discipline is much more acute than in other western democracies. In the United States and the United Kingdom, for example, representatives enjoy considerably more freedom from their parties. Canadian MPs, however, are expected to follow the direction set by their parties' leadership and caucus — even when that direction is in opposition to their views or the demands of their constituents"(4). Here you see, our Canadian MPs even can not protect their freedom in the House of Commons, how can each of our people protect her or his freedom in other situation? Now I believe that it is the time for the Supreme Court of Canada to interpret and clarify the freedom of Canadian MPs in the House of Commons, and what is the border-zone between the freedom of Canadian MPs and the party discipline specifically in the House of Commons. I hope that every Canadian standing up and pay attention to promote this event, for this will be a chance for you to understand your rights and freedoms living, which are only in general terms in the Constitution of Canada. C, the Essential Meaning and Various Definition of Republic Definition 1, "A republic is a representative democracy with a written constitution of basic rights that protect the minority from being completely unrepresented or overridden by the majority."(2) Definition 2, " Form of government in which a state is ruled by representatives of the citizen body. Modern republics are founded on the idea that sovereignty rests with the people, though who is included and excluded from the category of the people has varied across history."(5) Definition 3, "A republic (from Latin: res publica) is a form of government or country in which power resides in elected individuals representing the citizen body and government leaders exercise power according to the rule of law."(6) Definition 4, "In modern times, the definition of a republic is commonly limited to a government which excludes a monarch. Currently, 147 of the world's 206 sovereign states use the word "republic" as part of their official names."(6) Definition 5, "A Republic...has a very different purpose and an entirely different form, or system, of government. Its purpose is to control The Majority strictly, as well as all others among the people, primarily to protect The Individual’s God-given, unalienable rights and therefore for the protection of the rights of The Minority, of all minorities, and the liberties of people in general. " (7) Definition 6, " A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution), recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals." and "Authority is derived through the election by the people of public officials best fitted to represent them. " (8) By refining the six definitions of republic, I define a republic as: a well reasonably representative government with well reasonably separated power, rules on a creatively evolutional constitution, with the fights and freedoms protected at different level in different range as the levels of holism, wholity, majority, minority, and individual. I define the word republic in this way to sever this propose, which is promoting creatively evolutional progress continuously from now to human long future. Comparing all these definitions with the actual political system, Canada has the core elements of a republic, the representative democracy and the rule by law. And the monarchy is not a traditional monarchy who takes all power in hand, but only a few reserved power for the political stability in some specific situation. We conclude that we already excluded the traditional monarchy, created a new graceful sustainable political being to represent highly refined traditional virtues, which make Canadian much more peaceful in personality and nationality. To see Canadian political system in this eye, we find that our Canadian political system in this aspect takes advantage over the republic in USA-style. Although the new graceful sustainable political being still named as a monarchy, the definition is already much advanced. In the understanding, I like to call the republic in our Canadian style a graceful republic. D, Canadian Graceful Republic in the Information Era I as a person to meet the desire of my body do not ask for much, and as a human with curiosity have ask for knowledge without stop. On studying the House of Commons(9), I proposed eight reforming directions of the federal politics on the eight weaknesses I had found in my study(10). On continuing study and deep thinking(9)(2), I found that there is some practice of federal politics that is unconstitutional(11), Canada needs to reconstitute(12). 22. (The article that started all of this you will find at the bottom of this composition) Without any further delay, get ready to feast your eyes: One of Canada's Elected Officials Is Fired Up Over My Articles On Land Claims (Out of respect for this individual, I have messaged them explaining that I will not include their name in what I am about to share with the public. If this person writes me back telling me that it is ok with them, I will come back and gladly edit their name in) This is what the elected official just sent: Subject: Re: Does Chief Theresa Spence Pay Taxes Like Canadian Citizens Or Live Free Of Taxes On A Reserve? Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2013 08:41:12 +0000 The greatest injustice to any indigenous nations was done in Canada. Treaties were signed to give the settlers and the Dominion of Canada access the land and resources. In return the indigenous nations agreed not to molest the settlers. The indigenous nations kept their word. The Crown didn't. It wasn't the indigenous nations who wanted treaties. The dominion of Canada came looking for the indigenous nations to sign treaties. The nations reluctantly agreed to sign. This injustice must be corrected. Otherwise there will always be turmoil and conflict between the First Peoples of this land and the successive governments of Canada. Canada will not a whole country unless justice is done. Democracy freedom in this country came about because of the First Peoples generosity and cooperation. Many aboriginal people shed their blood on the battle fields fighting for Canada, to preserve the integrity of democracy and freedom. My dad, for example, shed his blood in France. My son just recently represented Canada in lands far away. The contribution to preserve the integrity of democracy by aboriginal soldiers was paid in blood, along side their comrades who represented many diverse cultures of Canada. There was brotherhood and honor amongst the soldiers regardless of their background. If veterans ran this country there would be justice. The good news is there are more aboriginal people becoming lawyers, doctors, surgeons, managers, land developers, architects, engineers, teachers, professors, professional athletes, etc. And they all pay taxes, including property and income tax. They live in cities and townships throughout this great land. They are also part of governments and corporations that help build our national, regional, and local economies that strengthen the social fabric of Canada. Just something to think about. **********, My response to this elected official: Subject: RE: Does Chief Theresa Spence Pay Taxes Like Canadian Citizens Or Live Free Of Taxes On A Reserve? Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2013 05:28:08 -0500 Thank you for taking the time to construct a decent response to what I just shared. 1 / 6 Nations also invaded the land from the natural inhabitants in the first place. When settlers arrived, there was about enough 1 / 6 Nations people across North America to moderately populate Cuba. Just because You land on a continent then years later someone else wants to settle, claiming that someone stole your land is not only greedy, but quite the weak excuse when there is plenty of land that they did not even occupy more than a small fraction of in the first place. Since then Canada, as well other countries of America have become globally recognized as countries. With our technological advances, there is no going back now unless something catastrophic were to happen to the planet itself. The crown responded in accordance to the 1 / 6 nations not wanting anything to do with being governed with a solution hence the land claims. I do not think that Canada was it's own dominion at the time because the Monarchy still held our reigns did they not?! What really makes me angry about how the 1 / 6 Nations were treated, was what the religious did to them by stealing their children but that's another story! Democracy as well freedom was won, but most foundational was for the preservation of not only new settlers, but for the 1 / 6 nations themselves and not only their blood was spilt for Our freedom from the U.S.A.! As a matter of recalling, it was the British army who showed up that finally drove the U.S.A. into submission! Indigenous, Canada is my historical land. Everyone here in Canada can be traced back to before Canada was occupied by humans to other parts of the globe! The injustice is that they chose to become a state sort of speak (live on their reserves chiefing themselves) instead of choosing to co operate with a tax based governing system. Now for that choice they have in many ways fallen behind the times and suffer for it. Now they just expect tax payers to flip the bill when they chose land to chief themselves and still expect land claims to be valid? You can't deny that they throw land claims treaties in the public's face quite often. You can't deny that despite some live in Canadian cities and even pay taxes (From my understanding they do not pay full taxes yet) and are making careers and working as a contributing member of society, that there are still those on the reserves not paying taxes yet they expect tax payers to flip their bill for governing services. Enough is enough. If you have anything else that you would like to share **********, I would love to hear/ read it. [one other thing, because I think we may very well be on the path to understanding one another, I think that the general public can benefit with understanding to the information you and I have shared with one another through interaction. I am however not going to include your name in any of what I share out of respect for you, unless you share with me that you are ok with it and perhaps even proud to demonstrate your stance. Then I will gladly edit your name (give you credit for your work) into what I share otherwise you will remain anonymous.] love David Jeffrey Spetch Ps. Be good, be strong! (Part 2 Already) One of Canada's Elected Officials Is Fired Up Over My Articles On Land Claims etc. (Again out of respect for this individual, I will not include their name in what I am about to share with the public.) This is what the elected official just sent: Subject: Re: Does Chief Theresa Spence Pay Taxes Like Canadian Citizens Or Live Free Of Taxes On A Reserve? Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2013 17:28:22 +0000 You make some very interesting points. I fully realize there is much work to be done to educate all Canadians about Canada's history. We can't deny our history involves Treaty First Nations. The First Nation community I am a member of is Opaskwayak Cree Nation, formerly known as The Pas Band. In this community we have an economy. We own a large shopping mall that we paid for from selling aggregate to a local lumber and paper mill. We have a large Gas Station that sells over 11 million litres annually, we own a 4 star hotel that is fully paid, we own a Jr A Hockey club, we also own a cement + gravel company, in addition we recentlty built a state of the art medical center from our own source revenue, we're just completing a 900 seat community hall using funds from our own source revenue. We also a 10,000 sg ft grocery store and a large retail outlet that sells sports equipment and clothing. And we are partners in a regional casino which we paid for, We employ over 700 people. All home owners pay a service fee for water works, public works, garbage collection, and recreation. Some call it taxes the people prefer to call it service fees. We're the second largest employer in the region. We do approximately 28 million dollars of economic trade in the immediate area. Essentially we keep the regional economy functioning. I thought I would mention this because this community strives to reach our goal, Progress and Independence. We don't have oil or resource based industries other than aggregate. But we are experts in the retail, hospitality and service industries. We're not there yet, but I know I'll this goal reached in my lifetime. There are First Nation Communities like Opaskwayak that do not depend on government for sustenance. To name a few they are, West Bank First Nation, Whitecap Dakota Nation, Buffalo Point, squamish, Georgina Island, and many more. These communities keep local and regional economies functioning. As far as federal government funding is concerned. Jim Prentice, formerly the Minister of INAC and I had a discussion several years ago about funding. What he wanted to see was the funding should go directly, from Ottawa, to a First Nation. Same as what Canada does for Provincial Governments. he suggested the First Nations decide for them selves how those funds should be allocated. There would be some rules of course. Date: Tue, 8 Jan 2013 06:12:12 -0500 **************, You sound resourceful and proud of what Opaskwayak Cree Nation has built and accomplished in the modern world and I admit it made me smile but I have to ask, Opaskwayak Cree Nation did all of that without any Canadian Federal or Provincial funding or assistance? These service fees you speak of are paid to council of Opaskwayak Cree Nation which in turn uses that money for infrastructure etc.? Sounds allot like a tax base system only you are calling it a service fee instead of a tax. The money goes from Ottawa back to the other Provinces because those people who are tax paying citizens living in those provinces pay Ottawa the very taxes that the Provinces get back from Ottawa to begin with. Why did Jim Prentice think that the money should go straight from Ottawa to the First Nations when the First Nations are not handing over taxes to Ottawa to begin with? Same with the Six nations? Point being First and Six Nations are not co operating with the Canadian tax based governing system by contributing taxes like everyone else. There are no taxes going from reserves / from the First or Six Nations to the Canadian Federal Government. Why is it so hard for the people of 1st and Six Nations to accept how a tax based governing system works when the First and Six Nations do not contribute taxes to Ottawa yet attempt to demand money from Ottawa because First and Six nations people are suffering without the obviously more successful, than the First and Six nations, Canadian tax based governing system? If the Canadian governing system were not as successful as the First and Six Nations, then the First and Six Nations would not have to keep trying to demand money from the Canadian Government. It must reveal by now to the First and Six Nations that the Canadian tax based governing system is not so bad, it is working for those who pay taxes and can't be that bad if the First and Six Nations keep attempting to demand tax dollars because the First and Six Nations are obviously suffering for not choosing to become a part of Canada's tax based governing democracy in the first place and all these years later still to this day. First and Six Nations must realize that choosing land claims instead of Canadian governing, is not as successful as the Canadian government quite obviously proves to be! I would absolutely love too see us all live as equal tax paying citizens with equal opportunity to make something of ourselves as individuals and as a country together. It would be nice to see the First and Six Nations admit and act upon the potential we have to become strong as a Country together. It would be nice to see MP's, MLA's, MPP's rise from what are for now called land claims or reserves as Canadian tax paying / communities where everyone pays taxes like all other citizens of Canada and again reap the rewards of participating in the tax based governing system thus helping us all progress together as a Country with everyone on the inside. Think of the Impact with people, living for now on what are for now reserves, having the power to vote for their elected official to participate in the Canadian democratic process. The sooner the First and Six Nations acts in this positive direction, the sooner we can work together to shape out tax based governing democracy. I can't blame you for having a dream, but do you really expect to accomplish what you claim for now that you want to accomplish for the Opaskwayak Cree Nation when I passionately move forward to accomplish what I share with you for all First and Six nations people as well all Canadians?! I enjoy these interactions very much, it is of course for the well being of the future of all involved. love David Jeffrey Spetch Ps. Be good, be strong! And finally here is the initial article which sparked interest from the elected Canadian Official: Does Chief Theresa Spence Pay Taxes Like Canadian Citizens Or Live Free Of Taxes On A Reserve? Again how can this be made any more clear. Upon completion of the war from 1812 - 1814 the First and Six Nations wanted nothing to do with government, they wanted land to chief themselves. We all know and have seen on the news all of this protesting about honouring land claims so why are they trying to get away with us to accept their land claims like Canadian tax payers are a bunch of imbeciles while they seek to have the Canadian government fund them at tax payers expense? The reason that they wanted Land to chief themselves hence the treaties, was because they wanted nothing to do with governing. So now all of these generations later they expect Canadian governing services at tax payers expense while expecting land claims to remain valid?! If they want assistance from the Canadian tax based governing system that's fine but first give up your land claims and start paying taxes like every other Canadian citizen and lets grow strong together as a country! Enough of these selfish / greedy schemes to soak tax payers! Enough! love David Jeffrey Spetch Ps. be good, be strong!
  23. This is what the elected official just sent: Subject: Re: Does Chief Theresa Spence Pay Taxes Like Canadian Citizens Or Live Free Of Taxes On A Reserve? Jim Prentice is forward thinking man.
