Jesus is not the messiah

Recommended Posts

From the above quote it is easy to see why people are unaware of what is going on. Our own family votes the way these people advise. There is at least one close member who has mental problems, I think they stem from a lot of fear over family relations and beliefs. This is serious and we should pay attention.

au contraire margrace, many people are aware of Hagee, and his lunatic ravings.

It would seem he thinks quite highly of our own Harper, who attends a church that espouses the nonsensical points of view, Mr Hagee, preaches.

It would seem from a political point of view, that harper and his christian fanatic supporters, would not want to shine the light to brightly on this, as it would be repulsive to the vast majority of Canadians.

so I am off doing some reading on Hagee's man in canada, who is also Harper's man

Charles Mcvety

interestingly:

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...me=&no_ads=

Garth Turner, the outspoken Conservative MP for Halton, is facing a mobilization of some members of the Christian community who are determined to keep him from running in the next election.

Turner, who favours the status quo on the controversial issue of gay marriage -- though his party's election policy is to take the issue to another vote -- has been embroiled in a war of words with some members of the nation's Christian community.

Charles McVety, the president of both Canada Christian College and the Canada Family Action Coalition, has been his chief opponent.

McVety is working to destabilize MPs who don't support the traditional view of marriage, and is currently focusing his efforts on toppling Turner.

But then Garth still won, despite the maneuvering.

But that was not good enough for the Harper conservatives, and there Hagee lovin' supporters.

Mr Turner had to go!!!!

Then he was gone.

Curiouser and curiouser.

But amazingly it appears none of our christian conservatives know who Hagee is????

You've lost me, what does not choosing to watch evangelical television have to do with how your family votes. As a matter fact, I don't watch any of them, not my cuppa tea.

ROTFLMAO - Get with the party, what is repulsive is a drive by smear trying to unsuccessfully to tie in Harper with evangelical con men LOL

Attempting to demonize the Tories as religious zealots doesn't cut it any more - we need new ones. e.g.

"Harer is a kitten-eating aliens"

" Tories are Flesh-eating amphibians" or here's new one "Tories are viagra-using energy wasters"

Congratulations, you have finally taken a position on something that supports Israel! Other than that you seem pretty confused on the issue, perhaps you should study doctrine to find out what Christians and Jesus really think.

Lol. Not quite. Israel does not insult Christians and their beliefs wel at least not intentionally. In fact it guarantees their rights to equality in the constitution to practice their religion and it actually has excellent relations with Christian anthropologists. There are some very good cultural exchanges actually. Israel also gets a lot of genuine strong support from Christians so the last thing its going to do is insult their beliefs.

But I see what you are trying to say. But please I beg you don't compare this intolerant wazoo to Israel. They have enough problems.

Another day another group to insult.

I didnt know who Hagee was, but I don't watch televangelists. And I don't get any Christian channels anyway. But from what I have read he is on TBN. A great deal of Christians consider TBN apostate. Anyhow, the fact that Hagee mentions Harper is only to be expected since Hagee is pro-Israel, or claims to be anyway, and so is Harper. Have you any reference to Harper mentioning Hagee as his man Kuzadd? The reverse is nothing to get hot and bothered about.

My charity "Drea's Dreams" will also get you into heaven if you donate $1000 or more. So why is my con illegal and the televangelist's legal?

Simple. You and I may both agree that giving your money to a televangelist is a waste, but I don't know if any of them actually say that if you donate 1000 bucks you will get into heaven. Usually what they do is they ask you for contributions to their ministry. And they might say and we'll send you a hardcover copy of John Johnathan Johnston's new book "I Put The Fun in Fundamentalism". May not be my cup of tea. May not be your cup of tea. But if someone wants to contribute to the ministry whether you or I think the guy is a phony or not that is their business. The only offer is a copy of John's new book. So there is no tangible con going on. As long as they send the book. Asking for a donation is not a con. No one has to donate. And if they do its of their own free will.

I fear thou doth protest to much, if there is no problem with it, then there is no problem, except it seems there are parallels, between the Tories and the fanatical Christian right.

Inc: Charles Mcvety

and others, shall we name names?

it does seem the religious right played a role in the ouster of Garth Turner.

Turner was certainly not a fave of the prime Minister, nor was he subservient to the 'don't talk' 'lips sealed' edict of the Harper gov.

That part is probably true.

The rest of that nonsense, who cares, it's irrelevant - but hey - if it makes you happy churning this stuff out - go for it... we need a chortle now and then. :P

I don't have a freaking clue who Hagey is but Jean Chretien met with the Pope, so what, no news value here oopsy maybe the Liberals wanna turn Canada into a RC State oooh booga booga

Too bad Harper never talks about his beliefs cos if he did people wouldn't wantto resort to innuendo but am really looking forward to hearing your little insights and deep investigative journalism into Stephane Dion's religious beliefs along the lines of how much genuflecting he does, or if he believes in transubstantiation and all, ditto for Paul Martin et al

Ah well, tis politically correct to Christian bash so maybe Kuzzy doesn't think RC's are christian mind you it's those Christian bashers who are the true bigots they insult the rest of us with their politically correct Christian bashing.

The problem with christianity and indeed most religion in the modern age is that it has lost its transcendent significance(why "christian rock" is now used more in church and christian rallies then gregorian chants or religious based classical) and thus has condemned itself to impotently obsess with and overstate the significance of human trifles.

Actually, it's just as relevant now as it always has been.

Christianity in our area seems to be relevant to the fundamentalist of Heggis ilk but our Anglican churchs for instance are closing. Makes one wonder.

Well, the Anglican church is really just an anglicized Catholic church, so I'm not all that concerned, although just about every Anglican that I've interacted with has been a decent and sincere person and it's unfortunate that they have had to go through what they have recently; and my worldly side has always been impressed by the architecture of old Anglican churches and it is a shame that the decline could result in the loss of these buildings. On the other hand, when a denomination becomes too formalized and dependent on maintaining a such large structures, it's inevitable that they become more concerned with worldly matters and therefore become easier targets for people who want to do them harm.
