Yes but the Green Party is also a global political party so its completely natural that its leaders will be from Earth.

Get a freakin' grip people and try to keep your eye on some far more serious balls.

Elizabeth May is a lunatic who thinks the world is going to end in the next decade, maybe she's the one who should trying being serious.

Or she could just get liquored up again and starting ranting and raving, that is perhaps her best quality.

The universe is going to collapse back into a singularity in the next 10 years?

That's not how the universe ends, it just keep flying apart until even sub atomic particles break down, but I said world, not universe, pay attention.

You pay attention, in case you didn't notice words matter and 'the world is going to end' could mean anything without some sort of context or reality to ground it in.

I have little doubt the economy will collapse due to our planet's ecosystems and human societies breaking down but that doesn't mean the end of the world or does it?

I'm not the one asserting the end of the world nor economic collapse.  A Depression is a Depression, it's not a collapse, people still make out like bandits in a Depression.

You're asserting other people are without substantiating what they mean by end of the world and then implying they're nuts for doing so without substantiating what the end of the world means to you.

You hear the phrase a lot and because it could mean anything, nothing or a lot it probably shouldn't be used at all.  It may not even be what the person said.  I haven't seen anything to suggest May meant the physical annihilation of the planet, have you because yeah, that would be nuts.

Whatever, according to the left I am a Nazi, after that, all further indictments by the left are meaningless.   Once I am a Nazi, I can pretty much do what I please.

Economic depressions are economical and they usually occur due to bad economic decisions, where we have a chance to end it. The climate discussion is about a non-reversal timeline.

The world will not end in a decade and I haven't heard May say that it will (perhaps you need to pay attention to what is being said, instead of creating a false narrative), but according to overwhelming research, there is a window (this window/timeline is different according to various research) we have to dramatically decrease the amount of CO2 we're releasing into the air in order to not hit the tipping point. This tipping point is when changing how we do things will not stop the climate disasters, which will result in economical disasters., that are already happening, and will only increase in numbers and ferociousness.

Central planning will be totally ineffective, market forces are Darwinian forces, you can't control them with your central plans, doesn't matter which way you come at it, either Nazis or Bolshies, they will both fail, and then we will see what happens after.

I don't understand you name dropping Nazis and Bolshies. I find your comparisons and analogies to try to defame a movement to have a better and cleaner world to be pure b.s. Your resistance to improving humanity, evolving our system is so sad to witness.

I reject your defeatist shoulder shrug attitude. We have been able to reverse man-made disasters in the past. Remember the ozone layer?

The ozone layer is showing signs of continuing recovery from man-made damage and is likely to heal fully by 2060, new evidence shows.

The measures taken to repair the damage will also have an important beneficial effect on climate change, as some of the gases that caused the ozone layer to thin and in places disappear also contribute to warming the atmosphere. Phasing them out could avoid as much as 0.5C (0.9F) of warming this century.

Recovery from the holes and thinning caused by aerosol chemicals has progressed at a rate of about 1% to 3% a decade since 2000, meaning the ozone layer over the northern hemisphere and mid-latitudes should heal completely by the 2030s, if current rates are sustained.

While I agree that much needs to be done, I think we’re in dangerous and largely rhetorical territory when some argue that there should be an economic penalty imposed by government for production that produces greenhouse gas emissions, since our very existence is a carbon footprint.  I worry that such rhetoric and policy will only hasten the fight for resources and the fear response to keep those with the means to protect themselves safe.  It’s already happening.  The cost of living is high.  Housing costs are outrageous.  If someone is penalized for living in a more affordable home far from the city because there are no transportation options apart from driving a vehicle, I don’t think it’s right to pile on more costs.

I don’t think we can lose by adding green tech to building codes or building rapid transit.  Positive incentives can’t lose, as long as the tech we fund or incentivize is actually profitable.

So long as this is being run by the left and central planning under the rubric of them being the messianic heroes who will save the world, I will do everything in my power to sabotage them.

Which mostly just consists of ignoring them. /shrugs

Just vote for Blackface in the upcoming election and your wish will come true. Canada blows up. It's goodbye Canada. Hopefully, only conservatives will survive after Canada blows up. May is a very stupid woman who is totally clueless at to how a country should be run. Trying to get rid of everything that made this country great is not the route to go. But try to make a Greenie environmentalist  and socialist like May understand this is truly an exercise in futility. Jobs will disappear. Unemployment gone thru the roof. But hey, at least the trees are still around. LOL.

Commie confederation will only get worse if the likes of dictators like Blackface, May or Singh get to be the prime mistakes of Canada term in office. You ain't seen nothing yet if anyone of them becomes the dictator of Canada, pardner. They will be coming for your property and your guns in the next round. There is not much left of the old Canada and it will really get worse after anyone of those fools ever become your prime mistake of Canada. Even your beloved Queen will not be able to save your ass. You better hope that a man like Bernier becomes the PM of Canada, and not May. Socialist Greenies like May does not believe that you should own property, or own a gun, and there goes your vehicle also. You will be biking your way around wherever you have to go. You should be safe and allowed to own an electric bike. LOL.

No actually.  More of it came from Ontario than any other province.

That's 100% wrong. Where did you get that info from?

Ontario raises the third most taxes per capita but receives the least of any province in federal tax revenue per capita.  It’s a massive outflow of Ontario tax dollars to the rest of Canada.  I know there are different ways of measuring contributions, but keep in mind that while Alberta receives the second least, she doesn’t collect as much tax from her people as other provinces.  She certainly benefits from oil revenue, but in terms of transfers to provinces, per capita Alberta contributes modestly.  Of course that changes with oil prices.  Quebec certainly receives the most in transfers, yet she also taxes her people the most.  While Quebecers pay very low university tuition and daycare costs at the user fee level, they pay in other ways, though housing is cheaper in Quebec

Ontario receives lowest total revenue per capita in Canada

Canadian provinces receive revenue from taxation, resource royalties, transfers from the federal government and other sources including profits from government business enterprises and user fees. In 2017, these sources generated $10,415 in total revenue per person in Ontario, the lowest in Canada.

Tax revenue

Despite receiving the lowest total revenue per capita in Canada, Ontario’s tax revenue is above the average of other provinces. In 2017-18, Ontario generated $7,936 in tax revenue per person, below that of only Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.

She's running for PM.  All the leaders running are from Earth.  Her primary job is to protect and manage Canada's interests, and some of those happen to be global interests as well.

And despite what she says, she cannot save the earth.  Canada is responsible for only 1.6% of global GHG emissions.  Even if she by miracle managed to slice Canada's emissions in half, that's 0.7% reduction.  Despite what we do it's going to come down to the US and China who together are responsible for almost 50% of global emissions.

I'm for helping to fight and reduce climate change.  I'm not for doing so by decimating the economy like May wants to while the US stands around and does jack all.

I think that you must have meant to say that "China and India do jack all, right?  Was that just a little slight against America on your part by chance? California use to be known as smog city, but not anymore. They cleaned up their emissions act. All May and other fools like her will never be able to stop global warming because China and India do not care about global warming anyway. Maybe they know that global warming has nothing to do with fossil fuels and SUV's at all but more to do with , according to NASA, the earths solar orbit that brings us a little closer to the sun. Anyway, it is time for the likes of May to quit with her foolish global warming games because only fools will listen to her. I am not giving up on my so called global warming lifestyle when so many billionaires like D. Suzuki, Al Gore and Leo Decrapio as examples do not. Canadians can be so easily manipulated and brainwashed by their politicians and the media, and are quit capable of getting most of them into a bloody panic over nothing. Meanwhile, their own country is going to hell, and they could careless. Most Canadians are dumb about so many things.it's down right pathetic to say the least. ;)
