They are.

"They" still seem to be doing everything they can to try Khadr in a military setting.

Omar wasn't a member of those nations, armed forces or militias.

Yes please, go figure.

What I'm trying to figure is how do you commit a war crime without a national armed force or militia?

Don't know. He isn't charged with a "war crime". Keep figuring....

If you engage in an act of war unlawfully, as Khadr did. Murder in violation of the laws of war is just one of the charges against him. He's also charged with attempted d murder for planting land mines.

Khadr was a brainwashed and angry kid fighting against our allies and their soldiers. He's no friend of Canada and is not likely to ever become one. Keep him out.

"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." (Luke 18:15-17)

This guy is the poster child for what's wrong with Immigration Canada. It disgusts me that this "citizen" is to be allowed back into Canada. He needs to be charged with treason and punished.

Mr. Halton Hills is in a venting mood tonight, sending his xenophobic puke across numerous forum topics. That's ok, twit. Let it out...

NeighboUr... is the right spelling in Canada, you twit.

I'd rather have Omar as a neighbour than Shona Holmes!

Wow, so in Uni town they applaud the efforts of khadr and would love to live beside him...learn something new everyday.

Maybe you should enlighten me right here, in front of all the readers... what part of `the Khadrs' are you referring to, you twit.

The Khadr family are AlQueda supporters and sent their dearest Omar to train with them. This is the way a good loyal patriotic Canadian behaves?

We don't need anymore of the worlds garbage, we have enough already.

That's true, Halton Hills has enough garbage for the entire world.

But we have enough forum trolls, posting whatever they think is fact.

Sure:

Khadr had accompanied three of the men he was staying with, as they went to the village to meet with several other militants. Neither of his parents were told about the meeting, and his father shouted angrily at Abu Laith al-Libi following reports of the battle, for not taking care of his son properly.[8][17][26]

Abu Laith al-Libi (Arabic: أبو الليث الليبي, b. approx. 1967 – d. January 29, 2008, Mir Ali ) was a senior leader of the al-Qaeda movement in Afghanistan who appeared in several al-Qaeda videos. He was believed to have been active in the tribal regions of Waziristan.[1][2] He also served as an al Qaeda spokesman.

Abdurahman Khadr:

"Until now everybody says that we're an al-Qaeda connected family, but when I say this, just by me saying it, I just admit it that we are an al-Qaeda family now. We had connections to al-Qaeda," he says. "My family in Pakistan, they will never admit this at all. Why? Because they're totally – you know – they are what they are and they deny it. They will never admit this."

What? Like people who claim east indians have a hard time renting in southern ontario?

Well, I guess you will be saying goodbye?

First of all Omar Khadr was a kid when he was arrested. At worst he was a child-soldier and therefore should have been protected as such by our laws. What's really un-Canadian is trying to make kids accountable for any sins their fathers may have committed.

As for Canada being one of Al Qaeda's targets, we decided to place ourselves squarely in their sights. I think we need a full public review of who our allies are, especially where these alliances drag us squarely into the path of their blowback.

This has already been covered in great detail already, Mr.Omar Khadr has already been declared a terrorist, of which he is not afforded ANY protection under the genva covention, inter national law or for that matter Canadian law....there is NO special coverage for children under the terrorist act or any laws under the conventions , or inter national law...

Hence why the inter national courts have not demanded his release, or demanded he be treated as a Child soldier....

There has been plenty of links providing this info given in the past....One would think that if there was a question about his status that his defence team would have presued it and won his release by now....but last time i checked he is still in gitmo....
