you said it "was too easy" - yet... your qualifying concern hinges entirely on human rights. Apparently, your ease includes a need to divert discussion towards North Korea.

now, I could offer up the same platitudes towards human rights abuses that world leaders offer when qualifying their own country's Sino relations... but really does that diminish those relations and the willingness of world leaders to continue to pursue and strengthen those relations - in spite of human rights abuses, perceived or otherwise? Perhaps you could advise why world leaders and their countries pursue continued & increased relations with a failed/unsuccessful China... in spite of your human rights qualification?

Unfortunately, they pursue relations with Communist China for one reason, the pursuit of the almighty dollar.Cheap labour trumps human rights it seems.I dislike Communism, but at the same time I do not endorse capitalism completely. There has got to be more to life than the unbridled pursuit of wealth and nothing else. The point I'm trying to make is that Communism has left a rather dark legacy since it's birth (spawned?))and I wonder how anyone in their right mind could embrace this ideology.

I've noticed that those who have an affinity for communism, are usually persons who have never lived under such a system. And those who've had the misfortune of living under said system, despise it, and usually try to flee it any way possible. It's quite the irony.

George W.Bush, possibly one of the most despised world leaders in history, was apparently quite popular in former Soviet bloc countries.People, like you say, that have actually lived under the Communist system. This speaks volumes.....

Nice try, but no it does not. Communist people understand the true worth of freedom(something we don't anymore), and freedom is what Bush stood for.

Bush was not a world leader. No president is whether he is liked by the world or not.

Do you honestly place so little value on human rights? On the other hand, there are nations where the people seem to genuinely love their leaders despite severe oppression.North Korea comes to mind,an even more oppressive place than China.Would you consider North Korea successful to rank higher than China?Shouldn't human beings count for something?

China does not seem to give a damn about human rights. China is a communist country. North Korea is isolationist, which I guess could be a form of communism. Communism is succesful because the west is still trying to get rid of it. Knowing they can never accomplish this, they decide to start doing business with them.

But even when the USSR tossed out communism in favour of a capilalistic society, they still are stuck in some of the old ways.

A discussion of Van Jones' background seems entirely relevant... he is an executive in a prominent position in the government, is he not?

Is Jones still a communist? The Wikipedia synopsis of his book reads thusly:

The book is a detailed proposal for a "green new deal". There is the opportunity to create thousands of low- and medium-skill jobs that help conserve energy (for example, insulating older homes and buildings) or use alternate energy sources (solar panels). These are local jobs that can't be exported. With appropriate incentives and programs, the jobs can be created in inner cities and thereby help lift people out of poverty. According to Jones, we can ensure the "approaching green wave lifts all boats." In the book, Jones calls for a mass movement to tackle our ecological and economic crises.

Frankly, that does sound a bit like Beck's allegations of a massive transfer of wealth ...

Quite right.

Unfortunately, President Obama has a number of rather questionable Czars...

Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page

WT

Rather odd isn't it? That her name and biography were scrubbed from the Sustainable World Society's webpage?

The motivation makes questions about Van Jones just lame.

This seems like an attempt to deflect an uncomfortable message by attacking the messenger.

I know you'rd rather make this about his sponsors than about Obama's wingnut Czars, who are apparently truthers. What do you fellow wingnuts have to say regarding that topic?

Yes you have offered so much evidence so far it is astounding how could I ever question Beck. The same Beck who wants terrorist attacks on he US.

According to Beck,Mr.Jones has said some pretty radical things and has been linked to radical causes.Yes,Beck played some audio to verify this stuff.Let's see,Jones has fought to free a convicted cop killer, believes whites are poisoning minorities(migrant workers in fields, pesticides,a huge stretch  ),believes the Bush administration let 9/11 happen and gave it his blessing,to name a few.It sounds like X Files stuff doesn't it?Another name that popped up is that of one Valerie Jarrett, said to be one of Obama's closest advisors.Said on tape we're happy to have recruited Van Jones,we've been watching him since his time on Oakland.

Many months ago,I remember seeing comedian Victoria Jackson on the O'Reilly Factor. She said she thought Obama is a communist.I thought that was both silly and amusing at the time. Now I'm starting to wonder if she was right!

Imagine if at the height of the cold war, someone said someday the Russians will turn to capitalism and the Americans will turn towards communism. Is this too far fetched or not?

"As Americans of conscience, we ask for four things:

1. An immediate investigation by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer

2. Immediate investigation in Congressional Hearings.

3. Media attention to scrutinize and investigate the evidence.

4. The formation of a truly independent citizens-based inquiry."

I AM SHOCKED SHOCKED I TELL YOU that Van Jones signed a statement demanding an investigation into the communication break down that caused 9/11. I am even more shocked President Bush also called for one. hahahahaha

I t should be noted 50 family members of those who died in 9/11 also signed the statement calling for an investigation which was done by the government.

More from Van Jones...

Obama Advisor Van Jones: Republicans are "Assholes"

With a round of applause from the audience ."I can be an asshole. And some of us that are not Barak Hussein Obama, are going have to get uppity." Van Jones said it himself !!! Sounds like he has a beef with Obama and not the Reps.

You know, I am one that does not believe in the official 9/11 story put forth by the government. So I might be as crazy as Glen Beck. The thing about Beck is that during the Bush Admin, he never said BOO about anything pertaining to 9/11 or against the Bush Admin. He was actually a supporter of the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions. He was on CNN from 2006-2008. Now he is on Fox and a Dem is a president, so it was clearly predicted that he would go on a tirade about the Dems as soon as he got to Fauxnews. It was his last couple months on CNN where he started this trend. Again, not saying a word about the previous president and the actions of the Bush Admin.

I have told you in other threads that Obama is just Bush on steroids and he is. But now that the shoe is on the other foot, those on the Rep side of the fence are all of a sudden screaming about the same things that the Dems were complaining about Bush during his tennure. So this is a flip flop of huge proportions.

Bush = Hitler

Obama = Hitler

When they start gassing people by the thousands within the USA borders, then you can start comparing them to Hitler. And they don't even have to be Jews!!

Just keep this in mind. Both sides, Republicans and Democrats are playing everyone for fools. This is the new divide and conquere. Policy and such will go on the way it is going, until this is realized by the majority of people.
