2012 US Presidential race polls

Yes, the idea that there is 'one prescription to cure what ails America' is a delusional right wing fantasy. A country isn't that simple, and if that's what Romney and his supporters really thing, it's a good thing that they lost.

Yes true equality is turning out to be a delusional right wing fantasy. This can all be traced back to the equality of opportunity vs equality of outcomes argument. "Progressives" believe that if outcomes aren't equal (ie. Women and minorities aren't paid/employed equally), then there must be inequality in the system. Conservatives believe in offering equal opportunity, but that underprivileged sexes/races/classes are responsible for catching up on their own. We are not self-loathing reverse-racists.

No the reason why people are rejecting the type of capitalism we see today is because it concentrates wealth only benefits a few people at the top of the food chain. Nobody had a problem with capitalism between 1940 and 1975 when wealth was de-concentrating, wages were rising, and a large middle class was emerging. If the US does turn towards socialism the economic elites will have nobody to blame but themselves.

No, they can blame the government for having too much power for sale. Wealth didn't deconcentrate at that time, the USA was the only game in town and started growing it's government into the bloated mess it is today.

We will see what is going to happen when e economy goes back into recession...

Supply and demand. The government sells stuff because theres an army of buys following each member of the legislative branch around all day every day making offers.
