That happens more per capita in the US than any other first-class nation.

Try getting off the per capita kick. As I said, incidents such as this don't rise in accordance with "per capita." No other "first class nation" has the population that the U.S. does or the diversity of conditions.

Combine the population of Canada, Europe and Australia and we still don't have as many mass-shootings as you guys.

Are you serious? Why would you combine the population of many separate countries and compare them to one? Do you think it would be relevant to combine the population of many little sleepy communities and point out that combined they don't have the crime that Vancouver does - therefore there's something really, terribly wrong with Vancouver?

Good grief.

Which brings us back to the per capita rates which you seem to say is irrelevant. When comparing crime rates, per capita is used to put things in persepctive. So a town outside of Vancouver has x number of gun crimes per 100,000 people vs. Vancouver.

Your country has a very high number of mass-shootings per capita than any other first-world nation.

Try to understand that crime doesn't rise proportionately to per capita. Do you not get that? Seriously? Again. No other first-world nation has the population that the U.S. has or the diversity of conditions. I'll try to put it so you might better understand it. Take Mayberry USA, where there are no murders. Vancouver has 1000 times the population. 1000 x 0 = 0, yet obviously Vancouver doesn't have zero murders. So why does Vancouver have so many more murders per capita? Obviously there is something really, terribly wrong with Vancouver. Right?

Mayberry would have 0 murders per 100,000 and Vancouver would have x/100,000.

When comparing crime rates regionally, per capita is used. It's the only way to put things in perspective.

Is that what's been troubling you with what I said? Wow, quit being so literal, I was responding to the denial that there is a correlation between your gun-laws and mass-shootings.

So to reiterate if it's not the gun-laws then something has gone terribly wrong within your borders.

IOW, it's your gun-laws.

Understand?

This doesn't make any sense. Per capita is a proportion.

Apparently it's meaningless! All these years statistics on crime have been using a meaningless criteria. Go figure.

Then something has gone terribly wrong within Vancouver, since the per capita murder rate is so much higher than Mayberry, USA.

Understand?

You should know by now that AW gets very pissy with suggestions that her country is anything but a shining beacon on the hill. The fact that the hill is a pile of dead bodies is not to be mentioned.
