The Last Dornier 17

Recommended Posts

The only remaining example of a Dornier 17 has been pulled from the English Channel. The Do-17 was part of the Luftwaffe's medium bomber force that fought during the early campaigns of WW2 including the Battle of Britain. This particular aircraft was downed on the 26th of August, 1940 while on a raid against RAF airfields in southern England. Two of the crew were KIA while two others became POWs. The RAF museum at Cosford is doing the restoration where it will be displayed.
