All They Need is a Handgun.

Recommended Posts

In the case of the boy we feel pity for the plight of the children who are instructed to kill. In the case of the girl it's something not far off but slightly different. Maybe that if she is involved with weapons that are strictly meant to kill people at her young age, there's not much doubt that she will get the opportunity before she's an old lady.

I disagree!

All I see is the hypocrisy the US is full of!

The US will drone strike a middle east/African country where they openly carry arms, claiming that this is what a terrorist looks like!

Look in the mirror USA!

True....armed with guns, armed with knives, armed with BMW's. Instead of banning everything, it may be more effective to better try and identify and treat people with the capability and propensity of such destruction.

Well some things cant be banned easily. Knives and automobiles have thousands of important and legitimate uses. Handguns are designed specifically to murder human beings. So it doesnt really make sense to try to create an equivalency between banning those things.

Can-openers? Fishing-rods?

Sport shooting, game hunting, self defence, film production, stage acts, magic tricks, suicide, starting pistol, firearms training, police sidearm, livestock slaughtering, firearms collecting.

You're right, most handguns are designed for killing people. Sometimes they're just used for other purposes. No serious target shooter plays around with that kind of gun unless he'/she's practicing to kill a person.

But what the hell, if they restrict it to killing themselves then we shouldn't worry about it. It's when the guns get over our border that they cause a problem.

Nonsense.....I and many others sent tens of thousands of rounds down range at NCAA pistol and rifle competitions with no thoughts about "killing people". "That kind of gun" was a converted M1911 semiautomatic pistol that used .22 cal ammunition or competition match rifle.

Far more rounds are expended in firearms activities that expressly do not involve "murdering" or "killing people".

Obviously it's not people who like to do target practice that are the problem. It's the ease with which people who want to kill people can get those handguns.

He's still not talking about the kind of handguns that are designed exclusively for killing people. But there's no doubt that some people who shoot at targets will go on to kill somebody with their gun.

They're for killing by cowards and they see their guns as an extension of their manhood. They won't get picked on by big black guys if they have their guns.

Well actually AR 15's are much more exclusively designed for killing people than are hanfguns. I think a lot of people may have a handgun because they feel a need for protection, especially if they live in a high crime area. The second part of your comment seems to border on racism.

Why do you say that? Amongst all methods of homicide within the United States, rifles (including AR-15s) make up less then 5% of murder weapons used……One would think if that was their exclusive intent, far more people would use AR-15s in the commission of a crime then is current.

By far most firearms related injuries and homicides in the United States have been committed with rimfire firearms.

This silly racist comment is made more so by the number of black male homicides and gang related gun crimes.

So then what were AR 15's designed for?

Sure, and anything else one would use a modern lightweight rifle for.

Well I'm sure you are familiar with the M4. Similar weapon. So I guess that's why everybody carried one around Afghanistan is it? I must say I did enjoy doing target practice on the range there. Well until I burned my hand on the barrel.

Similar I suppose is a subjective term for some…….if one thinks having a completely different lower receiver, bolt and bolt carrier makes a gun similar.
And as asked by Kimmy prior, how would one burn their hand through the hand and heat guard on that rifle? One would have to try and burn their hand to accomplish such a feat.

millions of bullets are sent down a range every year and only thousands are sent through American bodies every year. The obvious solution is to stop sending millions of bullets down ranges and send more through American bodies.

No wait,.............. that can't be righ... How about targets at both ends of shooting ranges in the US? There's little doubt that for every dead gungoon who loves his gunnns, there will be less gungoons who shoot people. Caust they're the same people! Got it!
