I totally support all of Derek's responses and thank him for them.

although no one asked directly, and no indirect solicitations were forthcoming, I too will offer a like support statement; however, it is one that is measured and qualified and won't attempt gratuitous compliment: "I totally do not support all of MLW member Derek 2.0's responses, or unsolicited comment for that matter. Not all, possibly some, but not completely."

oh pleeeese! Presuming to showcase an economic focused disparity (one not even accurately qualified beyond broad generalization) within the refugee program... is one that only fits against sought out criteria aspects of the immigration program.

.

That's so much meaningless bloviating. Speak English, would you?

you keep dropping this lil' gem of yours - "leave em' there... just send the camps money"! Can you, will you ever provide any information/data that speaks to deficiencies and needs within camps, and just what gains you presume "Canada's money" channeled away from the refugee program and applied "to the camps" might realize?

I guess basic logic is something which is completely alien to any kind of argument involving refugees, right? You'd want proof it costs more to feed and shelter a family in western countries than in Jordan, of course.

Although we do not consider all costs, our best estimate is that in their first five years in the United States each refugee from the Middle East costs taxpayers $64,370 — 12 times what the UN estimates it costs to care for one refugee in neighboring Middle Eastern countries.

surely you can do better than drop a reference from such a widely panned and criticized organization - one liberally categorized as 'anti-immigrant'. Surely.

Why is an organization criticized as being 'anti-immigrant' and thus disreputable? No one ever seems to criticize groups for being 'pro immigrant' or 'pro immigration'.

This is because in the minds of those who call themselves progressives, there is no legitimate beliefs other than theirs. Anyone who disagrees with them is by definition illegitimate, shady and evil. That's why you see them continually trying to shout down those with views they don't like.

Disagreeing with is not necessarily "shouting down". But it seems we all know where a lot of the shouting comes from.

Disagreeing with is not shouting down, but disagreement is not enough since progressives don't usually have the brains to form coherent arguments, so they resort to shouting down, as they do here, repeatedly.

I think you just tripped over your own feet with that one. A coherent disagreement isn't usually based on simple insults. Maybe try a little harder.

As I said, progressives usually can't form coherent argument. Their disagreement is based on how they FEEL, so they resort to insulting people in order to try and get them to stop discussing what makes them feel uncomfortable.

Think you just did a similar trip. Many of your posts would indicate you have in fact just described yourself.

So tell me, what is progressives don't usually have the brains to form coherent arguments and progressives usually can't form coherent argument' if not an attempt to use insults to shut people up, and to shout them down?

A statement of fact. If you desire evidence, simply look around at the progressives on this site.

This is just an attack on other members as a group and does nothing to add substance to this thread. Should this post be deleted? Probably.

I do. I also look at the non-progressives, such as yourself. Some of them come across to me as all too willing to indulge in insults, as you have done by saying 'progressives don't usually have the brains', Why do you indulge in insults while accusing others?

So that's only acceptable when you do it? Didn't you say we were all disgusting a few days ago and you were leaving?

Obviously because his arguments don't stand up to scrutiny.
