Ya...because people are lining up to go with Manitoba!

It's nothing personal, I just prefer Ontario.

Last I checked though, none of us was going anywhere.

Western Canada would happily accept Manitoba if they wanted out , I suspect they would feel like they have more in common with the Western provinces and their voice would be heard , while currently it is not. The East can have Trudeau , the feminist who intends to grow our economy from the heart outwards . How is the self balancing budget thing working out so far ? I can think of 30 - 40 billion reasons why that statement is almost as big a joke as he is .

I don't want to go with Alberta, sorry.

Move to Ontario or Quebec then. Alberta is a great province with hard working people and we in BC are glad to share a border with them .

Ever been here?

Yup, worked in Brag Creek outside of Calgary for a couple of years.

I'm sorry... I was being deliberately bombastic. There's some nice country and people out there - just lots of boring country too.

I live here...

...and I have zero interest in flat farmland, or being away from the ocean.

The way I see it anything west of BC might as well be Europe.

Politically, Winnipeg is more like Ontario than Saskatchewan or Alberta. Winnipeg is 3/5 of Manitoba. BC is also very different.

You think the people of Manitoba feel they get a fair shake from Ottawa ? Ultimately it would be voted on by the people of Manitoba and it would be their choice . I personally think they would love to tell Eastern Canada to stick it and if they just looked at the financial picture the wise decision is with the West , resources , people that demand responsible government spending and a strong work ethic would carry the day. Ontario and Quebec is rife with lazy entitled individuals , example students demanding free education in Quebec . Look at the East's debt levels compared to the Western provinces , not even comparable .

I like when people make baseless generalizations. It's fun to read.

How many federal contracts have been awarded to Western provinces while the Liberals have been in power over the last 40 years ? I love when weak kneed little lefties dodge questions that don't fit their narrative. Once you have answered that question look up Eastern provincial debt then compare it to Western provincial debt levels and let me know what you find. Coastal BC is beautiful , enjoy and appreciate how good you have it . Well done.

I live in Central Alberta. But just for the money. I did live in Coastal BC from 1984 to 2006, but unfortunately it was the bit with all the traffic. I was glad to get out. That said, my job took me just about everywhere in BC, repeatedly, and I do agree it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

I think you meant to quote Dre, as I did.

Just returned from Germany and it made me appreciate what we have all the more . Unfortunately we have a dullard for a PM that thinks with his heart and not his mind and that could and probably will have negative long term implications on this great country .

I lived in Germany too. Hameln, to be exact. I loved it there as well.

Germany was everything I thought it would be and more . Wish every BC driver could experience the Autobahn and learn how to drive from Germans. Also Germany may just have the best beer in the world but I don't need to see another piece of pork or a dumpling for at least another month or two. Munich was a stunning as was Nuremburg . Wish I could of found a way to get a Porsche out of the Stuttgart factory without anyone noticing .

I'm on the Island, traffic isn't so bad.

Basically the Island is Canada actually... Soon as you get off that ferry in Horseshoe Bay you're in France.

Yup, worked in Brag Creek

Its spelled Bragg Creek. Anyone who worked there should know how its spelled. Having said that, Bragg Creek is the gateway to Kananaskis Country which is gorgeous. Just typing Bragg Creek into a Google Image Search comes up with these. https://www.google.ca/search?q=bragg+creek&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiv3diphdLLAhVS8mMKHZbUAU8Q_AUICCgC&biw=1920&bih=955

Why stop short now? Your deliberate attack on Albertans was to compare us to the stereotypical redneck from Alabama. Your clueless portrayal of 'Bertans' is only overshadowed by the fact that you think that people from BC are all the same. Have you been to Dawson's Creek or Kitimat? Compare those people with those from Vancouver or Victoria. I think you would quickly find that saying 'Albertans' are this or 'British Columbians' are that is a fairly shallow and meaningless statement considering within these areas you find very different people depending on where you go.

...and I have zero interest in flat farmland, or being away from the ocean.

The way I see it anything west of BC might as well be Europe.

Again...your attack wasn't on the geography of Alberta, it was on the people. Your cowardly retreat is noted but what is also noted is this holier than thou attitude that seems to come from various BC people on this forum as if they invented the mountains or the ocean. You live there. That's great...it is beautiful but that hardly makes you better people than someone from Saskatchewan or New Brunswick or even us 'Bertans.

I've been to almost every province in this country as well as most states in the US. The first thing I notice is there are good things to see and nice people to be found in every location. There are also boring sites and bad people in each however I find it interesting to seek out the good people and to make a note of the similarities based on who they are...not on where they live.

Um...no. But nice try. Maybe get out to see Canada and you'll realize how false that statement is.
