Chrome Quoting Issues

Recommended Posts

I notice when I'm using Chrome, with the lightswitch off, the text just keeps going in one line. I have to scroll over to see it. I didn't have this problem before.

Definitely not seeing this one. Is the 'light switch' the icon to the left of the eraser in the top left corner of the toolbar ? I click it and the same two lines are quoted as when I click off.

I've seen that before in IE. Not for a while though.

I realise this comment doesn't help, I just wanted to be a part of it all.

I'm curious as to why you would turn it off?

I find it a lot easier to quote with it off. I split the text up a lot, and it just seems so much simpler to me.

No issue here.

No idea what the lightswitch is though.

I'll have to try it...OTOH maybe not. I see the text runs off the end of my page too when I switch it off.

See, it never used to do that. So it's not just me.

When you reply, it's in the top left corner of the reply box.

Managing quotes is a lot easier with it off.

...apparently not so much if you're using Chrome though...

It just started happening about 3 days ago.

I've got the same issue when using the manual editing format. Are you using OSX?

You can see here when I attempt to quote the text above that each paragraph is displayed as a separate line with no line wrap.

Yes. That is what your choice of browser-company wants you to experience.

Nothing has changed in the forum software.

OSX here too. I'm not seeing it but it does split words in the middle, which I find weird. What version, Cyber ?

I've got the same issue when using the manual editing format. Are you using OSX?

Yes. It doesn't seem to be a problem here at work on Windows 10.

I appreciate you guessing at what the issue is, but it's not a problem in Windows 10, as Smallc notes above. It's something about Chrome for OSX; however, Michael Hardner doesn't appear to be having the same issue in OSX.

Chrome Version 49.0.2623.87 (64-bit)

OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

I haven't upgraded to the new OSX yet because there were issues with it playing well with Office. Until I've submitted outstanding projects, I won't upgrade.

Smallc, what version of Chrome/OSX are you using at home?

I'm not sure. I check when I'm there.

Actually, it's suddenly started doing it on Windows 10, so it must be a Chrome issue.
