America under President Trump

But the big issue in this election, which you didn't address in your long post was that voting shouldn't be made more difficult because of the pandemic.

As you note, mail-in balloting would actually suppress older more conservative voters. But it would also make older people, who often volunteer during elections less likely to do so.

So their's a democratic crisis on the horizon.

Difficulty is normal now.

Tens of thousands of businesses are closing permanently, millions of people are permanently or temporarily laid off, the Dems and the liberal MSM are encouraging country-wide riots & trying to de-fund the police, and 0.05% of the population died (about double a normal flu season, or 1/3 the number of people who die from medical mistakes each year).

Sure, the election will be difficult, but that's better than fraudulent.

You can't throw out the validity of the election to satisfy Covid. A more realistic option is delaying the election.

I see Trump went all "crybaby" toward the press yet again today in Florida. Is it perhaps that orange crap he sprays himself with that makes his skin so thin?

His first 100 days will be a flurry of activities to implement most of the policies he'd promised. Here's an excerpt from a lengthy article how he says it would look: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05

maybe they share an addiction. Does Oxy make you sniff a lot I wonder?

There are states that already allow for Mail-In Balloting? Should those states immediately have their results called into question?

What about early voting?

There's definitely an exponential rise in cases: 77,000 yesterday. They'll be at Dr. Fauci's prediction of 100,000 daily cases before August.

There's a good chance they'll hit 4 million cases by next week. Meaning the infection rate is doubling.

And deaths are rising too. Almost 1,000 deaths yesterday.

You posted that 58 minutes ago. Yesterday from 58 minutes ago and yesterday from now is still July 16th. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ There were 314 C-19 deaths in the US yesterday. Is that "almost 1,000"? Where did you get that stat from?

You realize that there are 7,700 deaths in the US on an average day, right? https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/68/wr/mm6826a5.htm

Florida's C-19 deaths yesterday was almost exactly the same as their death rate there from heart disease or cancer - every single day. Seems like a lot, but it's not.

If less than 1% of the votes come from mail-ins, for members of the military abroad, etc, that's one thing.

To say that you'd just make a massive amount of mail-in ballots for an unknown number of illegal immigrants is just a hilarious, farcical, and an ominous suggestion.

I was quoting the July 16th on Worldometer. Been in the 900+ for the last three days.

If the death rate of COVID was just a matter of course for people. Then why the increased hospitalization? Why is Texas brining in refrigerated trucks because the morgues are full?

Did I say that?

You should be able to ask for a Mail-In ballot, if you're already a registered voter because you don't think you'll feel comfortable going to a voting booth in November.

1) that's anecdotal, not necessarily legit

2) maybe people are waiting longer than usual to bury people so that they can have proper funerals?

Riiiiight.

"You" sure could vote for "yourself".

You could also be Juan Herdez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and you could vote again.

You could also be Juan Hernandes, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and you could vote again.

You could also be Juan Suarez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and you could vote again.

You could also be Juan Jiminez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and you could vote again.

You could also be Juan Munos, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and you could vote again.

If Dems got their way they wouldn't even have to campaign. They could just do some mass mailing campaigns. It's a total joke.

With 1 person, and two pieces of ID, fraud gets harder and harder. That's how it should actually work now in these days of technology. Everyone has ID, or if they don't, they should get it if they want to vote.

Well it's not how it works, even if you want to show up in person to vote.

If the mail system is used to mail out voter registration, not sure why it can't be used to submit a ballot.

Even Fox News is reporting it. https://www.foxnews.com/us/texas-arizona-refrigerated-trucks-morgues-coronavirus-deaths

Quote

Texas reported an all-time high of single-day deaths Thursday with 129 people dead, bringing the total to 3,561. The state recorded 10,291 new cases of the virus, bringing the total to 292,656.

Reuters reported that San Antonio and Bexar County each received five refrigerated trailers to store up to 180 bodies as some hospital morgues and funeral homes have reached capacity.

Two additional counties – Cameron and Hidalgo – also are sharing a refrigerated trailer to deal with the influx.

As the U.S. surpassed its single-day high, reporting 77,255 new cases of COVID-19, data showed nearly 20 percent of those cases were in Texas.

'Trump unleashes Secret Police' ... I think that this is a novel approach to internal security for a western country, no ?

"The Nation" lol. Their logo has a black man on a knee doing the black power symbol in the air.

That idiocy aside:

It’s possible that they are acting under the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act, signed by Barack Obama, which legalized the detention of Americans suspected of being terrorists.

The Dems are a scary bunch of people.

Their political agitators in Antifa and BLM are at those protests, and whether or not they're officially labelled as terrorist organizations on the books yet, they both operate as terrorist organizations. Who cares if they're getting treated like it?

Even if they're doing it, it could be a show. And like I said, maybe people are trying to postpone funerals as long as possible too, so that tey can be held once c19 restrictions are loosened.

But you have no evidence to suggest that.

What isn't being guessed on is the level of Hospitalization in Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – A record number of people with the coronavirus were in Texas hospitals on Tuesday as the state also set a record for the number of new cases reported.

The number of people in Texas hospitals has continued to climb after topping 10,000 for the first time on Friday, and the state recorded 10,569 people hospitalized Tuesday as it tries to contain the spread in what has become one of America’s biggest hot zones.

I've dropped thousands of pieces of mail off in a day myself. Could I show up thousands of times in a day at polling stations with two unique pieces of ID every time?

Do you know how much harder it would be to vote ten times with two pieces of ID vs dropping off 1,000 fake ballots?

Do you get how much easier it is to secretly drop fake ballots in the mail at midnight than to get away with creating & using a bunch of different fake IDs? You have to commit multiple felonies to do the ID voter fraud thing, and you have to do it in the light of day. If you get caught, your scam doesn't work. If you get caught doing the mail scam, what % of your fake votes will still register? 90? 99? 50? That's still a lot of votes.

Do you think that the party that lied to the FBI, Congress and the American people and committed fraud and malfeasnace for 3 years about "Russian collusion" wouldn't rig an election using mail-in ballots? That would be extreme stupidity not to cnnect those dots.

Nope. And you don't have evidence to prove that it's really necessary, and that it's because of a higher-than-usual death rate.

How many people usually die in a day in Texas? How many are dying now? Just find those things out and you'll at least have something.

You're just making stuff up.

Why shouldn't registered voters be able to vote by mail?

1) The Republican governor of the state thought it was needed. Re-opening has been put on hold.

2) What other explanation is there for record COVID-19 deaths and ICU's reaching capacity?

Because fraud is several times easier, much harder to track & prove, and thousands of times faster.

Most people can figure this one out for themselves before you even have to tell them about it. If you don't understand all that, after it's been spelled out, that's on you. I don't really care.

At the very worst, what we're seeing now is a spike that's partially due to the rioting and especially the looting.

Back to this?

The "rioting" happened over a month ago. Holiday's like Memorial Day and July 4th would be more likely to be the culprit.

Also, why haven't other places that saw BLM protests seen huge spikes? And why is Arizona perhaps the worst infected place per capita? I didn't hear about any huge protests in Tucson.

NYC already has a lot of herd immunity from their subway system.

You're responding, so you clearly care.

It seems you'd rather people don't vote then vote by mail. DEMOCRACY!!!!

TBH, I don't really care about c19 deaths. The vast majority of those people would have died very soon anyways. It's unfortunate, but it's not on the same level as a 20 yr old dying from Fentanyl, or a 16 yr old being killed by the CHAZ police.

Cancer deaths, for instance, occur in ages from 3 to 103. A cancer death has a nearly-equal chance of being a devastating tragedy, or not that big of a deal. If I die of cancer at 103 no one will give a crap, or at least they definitely shouldn't.

A C19 death is certain to be far nearer to "not that surprising" than "life-shattering for an entire family".

The C-19 deaths aren't like ebola deaths where 6 year olds died all the time. I still remember the pic of the little kid sitting naked, all alone, who theoretically died of ebola later that day. His family theoretically booted him when he got sick. Compare that with an 83 yr old with two or more co-morbidities. Or don't bother, I don't need to hear it.

Yes, for certain.

If people care enough to vote, then vote. If they don't care, then don't vote. It's always been that way.

Don't just make fraud on a massive scale entirely easy (and likely) just to satisfy the vast minority of people who don't really give a rip.
