How Christians reconcile supporting the devil

Really? I thought a Christian was supposed to act like Jesus. I imagine Jesus coming down to Earth and running into Trump.

"Jesus! Hey! Good to see you, buddy! Listen, I need your support for my presidential candidacy! I'm gonna get rid of health care, cut pensions and unemployment, cut college loans and education grants, cut foreign aid and food stamps and school lunches! That way I can lower taxes on rich people and big corporations! Screw the poor and sick! If they can't feed themselves or pay for a doctor they can go to hell, right, buddy!?"

I have a hard time imagining Jesus shaking his hand and agreeing to vote for him.

I imagine Jesus running into Argus.  "Jesus! Hey! Good to see you, buddy!"

Argus started mouthing off about Trump - how sinful he is.

Argus also complained that Trump wants to " get rid of health care, cut pensions and unemployment, cut college loans and education grants, cut foreign aid and food stamps and school lunches! That way I can lower taxes on rich people and big corporations! Screw the poor and sick! If they can't feed themselves or pay for a doctor.  Argus finished it off by claiming ...." they can go to hell, right, buddy!?"

Blasted politics and its lying, scheming,  out-of-context dirty ways.

It's not hard to imagine Jesus taking a good look at emotional Argus.  Not again.  Then He pointed at Argus and bellowed,

GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN!  You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.

Matthew 16:23

Oh cry me the Nile.

No one is forcing them to have children.   They knew of the possibility of pregnancy as a result of having sex.  Any woman with any brain - even if it's only pea-sized -  know that!

I don't feel bad for the women so much as I feel bad for the damaged neglected children you want to "save" and then forget about.

A lot of these children end up getting adopted, either by their own kins, or by strangers who want to have children but couldn't.  A lot of kids have a rough start - but a lot of them end up being productive in life.  Some of them become rich and powerful people.  Even if they just go by struggling through life like so many other people....what's wrong with that?  Life's not  a watlz down easy street for the majority.....they just try to make the best of what life they have.  What's wrong with that?

What an odd way to to "feel bad" about children.  You'd rather they get slaughtered and never given the chance to live at all.   Oh yes, because they're "damaged" and "neglected," it's better that they all die.  Gimme a break.

I remember you brought up Duterte somewhere a while back (and I found it odd because it was irrelevant).........how ironic.

If that's how you want to solve social problems, then you must be in-line with Philippine's Duterte's methods - killing all drug dealers, including all drug addicts, to start with!  After all, they're not only damaged goods....but they bring damage to everyone!

You say....."I feel bad for the damaged neglected children you want to "save" and then forget about."  What cockamamie line you spew.  Cry me an ocean!  Boo-hooo-hoooooo.

These unborn are just like dirt you want to sweep under the rug! You don't even want to know about them, so never mind lecturing about "forgetting them!"

And spare me the "empathy" spiel.  It's just another expected postured liberal thing of showing "empathy,'  though in a psychotic kinda way.

Argus wouldn't talk to Jesus about Trump. Argus would have a lot of way more important things to say to Jesus.

All your silly little post seems to show, betsy, is you don't know much about Christianity or Jesus Christ.

Yes. The issue, however, is my imagination of what Jesus would say is based on biblical teachings of Jesus' life and what he had to say on those subjects I mentioned. Yours are based on... I really don't know what.

Well, same with me.  My imagination of what Jesus' answer to you is based on biblical teachings of Jesus' life and what He had to say on those subjects you mentioned.

Here's what you'd alleged Trump had said:

Trump wants to " get rid of health care, cut pensions and unemployment, cut college loans and education grants, cut foreign aid and food stamps and school lunches! That way I can lower taxes on rich people and big corporations! Screw the poor and sick! If they can't feed themselves or pay for a doctor.

Your accusation about healthcare is quite.....deceptive.

I don't know where you got your information, but from what I heard in his rallies, and from the debates....he is going to     get rid of OBAMACARE - not healthcare!

He will replace it with something affordable.  See, a few days after he said Obamacare's premium will go up - it did went up!  More people wouldn't be able to afford it now.

He's trying to save their healthcare system, Argus!  In his own way.     No, he's not a fan of Canada's healthcare system, he's got his own plan.  There's nothing wrong with that.

You're also not being accurate in your accusations.  You didn't explain to Jesus why Trump would lower taxes on big corporations (which are owned by rich people).  Because he said  that's how you can create jobs, jobs, jobs!  You may not agree with him on that.....but what he has in plan is not a crime. There's nothing even wrong with it, if that's what he truly thinks will create more jobs.

If he did say he'll cut foreign aid and food stamps and school lunches.......there's nothing wrong with those either!  He didn't say he'll terminate foreign aid, and food stamps.  Even if he did terminate all those, I don't think there's anything wrong about that either - depending on his motivation!  I've never been President (even of a corporation), or a king, or a ruler.....so I wouldn't know much about issues they face.  But I do know that a good ruler must do what's good for his citizens.

It depends on motivation, Argus.  What motivates a person to do what he does - that's why only God can make those kind of judgements.

Anyway, I'm reminded of Jesus teachings -  one of which is that we have to depend on God.  You don't worry too much about what tomorrow will bring......

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

See?  What you're promoting is "paganistic," if not socialist! :)

School lunches?  You're worried about school lunches???? What about people who can't even afford to have any food at all - and you worry about school lunches???  And,  hunger is hunger, Argus - regardless of age!

No one stops you of doing charitable works, Argus.  In fact, someone being forced to give for charitable reason, is not charity.  Charity has to come voluntarily.

2 Cor 9

Generosity Encouraged

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever.”[a]

Matt 6

Giving to the Needy

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

College loans?  Why does it matter so much about college loans?

You must mean people MUST have high education (on the backs of other people to boot)....so they can land high-paying jobs that will enable them to buy all the material blitz this earthly and materialistic world has to offer!

That's worldly concerns, Argus.......the very thing that Jesus wants us to discard!

Here:

1 John 2

Do Not Love the World

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world.

If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life[a]—is not from the Father but is from the world.

17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

So, get your mind off worldly stuffs!  Stop promoting them!  They're stumbling blocks.

Anyway, you didn't mention that Trump will bring back VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS!  That doesn't cost too much, and it will help a lot of people who are more inclined to vocational stuffs!

You do know that Satan is said to be the "god" of this world, don't you?  That's biblical, Argus.  here, read this:

https://www.gotquestions.org/Satan-god-world.html

Everything that you've inaccurately accused Trump of saying, aren't against any of Jesus' teachings. You manipulated them to paint him the way you want him to look.

Bearing false witness against your neighbor (Trump), is a violation of the 10 Commandments.

Jesus will see in Trump's heart what really motivates him to do all that.

And, you've been lying!    Jesus would see thru that, too.

Satan tempts us with worldly things, and he's the master of deceptions and lies.

Worldly concerns - a stumbling block for so many of us, deceptions and lies in your allegations against Trump.  That's why I imagine  Jesus would be saying to you......

GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN!  You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.

So, let's go back to your title.  How do Christians reconcile supporting the devil?

Refer to my response to you - post #33.   That's important.

You support Hillary Clinton, who fights for pro-choice and Roe v Wade.   Here's the take on that - from a Christian perspective:

Clearly, abortion goes against Biblical teachings not only because it encourages the sin of fornication, but it also encourages and abets taking a life of another human being.

Genesis 9

And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.

Those who have ears, let them hear.  Remember the Parable of the Sower?  Do you know about it?  Understand it?

Mark 4

The Parable of the Sower

Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge. He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”

Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that,

“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
    and ever hearing but never understanding;

otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’[a]

13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? 14 The farmer sows the word. 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”

Clearly Trump isn't perfect.  He has his flaws. Who hasn't?  But when it comes to policies, and what they aim to do when they become President.......Trump's policies are more in trying to keep up with Biblical teachings, whereas the Clinton's plans clearly promote everything that flies against the teachings in the Bible.  It's everything about the worldly and the love of self.

In fact, based on her policies, she seems to promote the agenda of Satan.

I don't know if you're a Christian, or not.  If you're not....then this, and post #33,  explains why I support Trump and why I can't support Hillary Clinton. But if you're a Christian......I have to throw your question back to you.

How can you reconcile to supporting Satan's agenda?

Trump is not a career politician, that's why.  Hillary, is.

People say idiotic things.  But saying idiotic things pales  in comparison to actually doing idiotic things.

Anyone who supports and promotes Hillary Clinton do not only think and talk like an idiot.......but acts like an idiot.

Why?

Well.......

They can't even fathom the difference between Trump and Clinton when it comes to comparing flaws.   They see the zits on Trump's face, and yet couldn't see the boils on Clinton's.

They're like comparing the common cold (Trump)  to a plague (Hillary).

Hillary supporters ought to check out the new topic about Huma Abedin.

Serious questions on how she could've ended up being HIllary's adviser ought to be asked.  The implications of Hillary being cozy with radical Islam......is not only troubling.

Of course Argus, in keeping with your subject about religion......this election seems to be the  fight between good and evil.

What about Hillary?  She's gotten herself Huma Abedin as a top aide/adviser.    Why did she do that?

It's either Hillary Clinton is indeed a shady character (to say the least).....or she's an outright idiot!

Take your pick.  Maybe....both?

Trump has Ailes, Giuliani, Christie and other losers. Abedin's crime is she married a tool like Weiner. What's your point?

This isn't a rightwing problem. The damage being done by Trump is a bipartisan concern, to be sure. His rhetoric of the election being rigged is probably one of the most dangerous things he's done so far. It undermines the fundamental core of democratic freedom: the peaceful transition of power. Yet, on this forum alone, we can see people buying into this conspiracy theory garbage about Hillary stealing an election that hasn't even happened yet. His appeals to the second amendment people to "do something about Hillary winning" and now his insistence that there is no democracy in America, the system is rigged, is a direct threat to the peaceful transition of power through democratic elections. It is a call to arms. A call for violence and bloodshed. We've already seen him muse about imprisoning not just Hillary but other political opponents, including Republicans. He's leading chants at his rallies to lock up the women who have corroborated his boasts of sexual assault. And yet here we are, actually arguing with people who support this appalling, reprehensible attack on freedom, democracy, and peace. It's ludicrous and that's putting it as lightly as possible.

Trump is not trying to undermine anything. Trump is trying to tell us all something. The truth about the rigged game called politics. Why anyone seems to think that this is such a bad thing to be saying is beyond me. To me it just shows how the fake corporate media can brainwash and condition people into their way of thinking. The hundreds of millions of Americans appear to believe him. So what is with the people who seem to fell that he is trying to destroy freedom? Trump is trying to save freedom it for gawd sakes. Wake up.

All they keep repeating to themselves is that Trump has to go. Trump is a dangerous man.  Common sense and logic is rare to find out there these days.
