US vs Iran

Recommended Posts

There are more Iranians in the US, and far more Iranian students are likely to be affected by the new measures than those from Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen put together. Last year, there were 12,269 Iranian students studying in the US, according to data by the Institute of International Education, compared to 5,085 from the six other countries. Iranians are struggling to understand why they are being targeted in this way....

...Iranians expatriates in the US have indeed been immensely successful. In fact, Iran’s brain drain problem is due to the many talented students who emigrate to the US. Omid Kordestani, the executive chairman of Twitter, the very platform Trump uses to broadcast his views on a daily basis, is Iranian. The founder of eBay, Pierre Omidyar, is Iranian. Maryam Mirzakhani, who won the Fields Medal, the highest accolade in mathematics, in 2014, is another example.

No, America is/was built by immigrants and non-immigrants.   Everyone is not immigrant in the U.S.

Native Americans are not immigrants.   Native born are not immigrants.   My slave ancestors certainly were not "immigrants".

You have missed the point again. An immigrant who has dedicated their lives and made massive contributions has US citizenship is as much american. What is un-american is those biggitted idiots with little sense that america is what it is because of genuises from around the world. Pretty certain those native share same sentiment. Live with it!

Many immigrants do not have or seek U.S. citizenship, some choosing to return home with skills and fortunes made.

Iranian nationals who are not citizens or legal resident aliens do not have the right to enter the U.S.

Again you are stereotyping without any proof to back up your comments. That is pure generalisation and lazy. Go and do some research about the technical hub in the US instead of repeating the same regurgitated [email protected] you have been spewing from your so called "sources" all over this board. As a matter of fact I do the research for ya..

Which bit of this is it difficult to comprehend that the ban initially put on everyone?
Picking on Iranians shows bigotry... Don't f*cking waste my time.....Verstanden? Capiche? I hope so...

This is the contribution of the immigrants from other countries to the US of A....

Eloquently put in this debate with Dr. Michio Kaku:

Reality s these genuises have made such a significant contribution to mankind that is irreplacable.

The Carter Doctrine:

The Carter Doctrine was a policy proclaimed by President of the United States Jimmy Carter in his State of the Union Address on January 23, 1980, which stated that the United States would use military force if necessary to defend its national interests in the Persian Gulf.

President Reagan expanded on this doctrine to provide military support to allied nations in the region (e.g. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait).

The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to strive for regional dominance against the Great Satan and allies.

......37 years is a very long time to revisit a doctrine by a Democrat despised by conservatives....Besides things have changed dramatically in the politics since. I just love the fact the hardheaded conservatives use Obama and other Democrats like Carter as a scapegoat to exonerate Trump right now....

Let's revisit the history and what has happened since 1980 shall we.  We have had the Iran/ Iraq war. The accidental shooting of an Iranian passenger airplane by US warship oblivious to the fact that it is a civilian not war plane and for which the captain never apologised..., the Iran/ Iraq war and the infamous handshake of Donald (Oh yes not Trump the Orange Oligarch) Rumsfeld and Saddam use of chemicals against Kurds in Halabja, the Iran contra scandal under Reagan by Oliver North, 9/11 attacks by guess who? The very Saudi culprits that were provided the military might by the US of A, the bombing of taliban camps, Kuwait invasion leading to invasion of Iraq and toppling of Saddam and the list goes on....

It's such a lazy way of thinking to exonerate a right wing like Trump for what has happened in the past....

The United States and ME allies should counter Iranian aggression in the region with soft and hard power, including military force:

Quote

...Beginning on day one, the Trump administration can move quickly by pushing for enforcement of the U.N. travel ban imposed on key figures in the Iranian leadership, like Qassem Soleimani, who has been pictured in Aleppo, Falluja and near Mosul, and has met with counterparts recently in Russia. That's not to mention cracking down on Iran's multiple ballistic missile launches and its continued shipments of arms to Yemen, violating the U.N. arms embargo. Such behavior is in direct defiance of U.N. Resolution 2231, which enshrines the nuclear deal, and is an example of Iran's lack of accountability. If Iran continues to violate the letter and the spirit of the deal, the United States must be prepared to walk away from the agreement.

I think there's more than meets the eye.  I wouldn't be surprised that Israel is already in on it with Trump.

I won't be surprised if one morning we wake up to the news that there's been a preemptive strike on Iran!

What will Iran's compadres do, after it's happened?  Like Russia as an example?  Is Russia willing to put it's neck on the block avenging Iran?  Especially when Trump's an ally against ISIS?  Russia will likely just grumble.....and let it go at that.

You think Trump's trying to be diplomatic with Russia for nothing?

Trump already lacks credibility as a president....Nevermind otger d cision making processes...

The judge has already overruled his stupid ban.

.....Anyways good gesture from Iran:

TEHRAN: Iran said Sunday it would allow US wrestlers to compete in an international tournament after President Donald Trump's travel ban was halted by a federal court.

"Following the court ruling suspending #MuslimBan...US Wrestlers' visa will be granted," tweeted Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif.

Iran had blocked visas for US citizens in response to Trump's travel ban, preventing the wrestlers from competing in the event on February 16-17.

Does it matter...we already have terrorism.    The corollary would be total "Western" disengagement from the region for a drastic reduction in terrorism...not going to happen.

This isn't fear-mongering!  That's another so-abused term by the progressives/libs!  Any negative speculation is touted as fear-mongering.

By that same token, all of you who are saying Trump is bad for the USA can be said to be all fear-mongerers - from Obama to Hillary, to all those protesting on the streets and those......commenting in forums!

So is that Trump's line in the sand?

In spite of Trumps bafoonery especially during the last two weeks, its eventually going to die down. His posing will burn out and the mundane day to day functions will kick in and bore him to death.

I for one am hoping the people he has hired will prevent him from doing stupid things and by default their foreign policy can't be any worse.

We have no more apologizing for the Muslim brotherhood, Iran, Saudi Arabia in the days to come if they support terrorists.

That is for sure.

What also is for real is a coming economic war with China, Mexico possibly South Korea and Japan. We shall see.

He might've had a good talk with The Japanese PM.  Remember when the PM was the first one to visit him before his inauguration?  Anyway, one thing I notice - Japan is being very diplomatic.  I never read or heard anything negative coming from Japan admin - publicly.

Get back to me when DT has sorted out the mess he has made at home by undermining the judge that overruled his ban. Never mind his foreign policies vis a vis Iran and the world....

You don't seem to understand the predicament that is awaiting him.
