Colette (3 paragraphs)

First, I really didn't want to see this movie because I feared that Hollywood fakes stuff. Well, the movie shows Leon Heron as a black guy - when he wasn't.  (I don't like Keira Knightley. - actresses/actors must show facial expressions; she can't.)

The movie was good. It was well made.

It entirely missed a general question that bothers me: While these people (Colette, Somerset Maugham etc enjoyed life), ordinary men were about to die in 1914.

1) I KNEW IT !  I was under the healthy impression that Hollywood films were real but then I saw that guy who died in Titanic sitting and laughing AT THE OSCAR CEREMONY !

2) A good film review needs more in-depth treatment.  One adjective ('good') and another synonymous phrase ('well made') don't tell me anything.

3) And if there's a war tomorrow, you and I will still be posting here about it too.

That wasn't him.  It was an actor playing him.

Uncanny resemblance though...

.....

No, the movie producers obviously devoted much effort and money to create CGI/costumes for the era.

While at the same time, they weirdly chose to twist the story:

Paul Heron was not from Africa; yet this movie falsely shows him as an "African-European".

This movie leaves one with the impression that Colette was "progressive" - and yet with hindsight, in her world, millions of ordinary men were about to die.
