More plants closed during Obama's terms in office...nice try.

I agree. There is an international push back against globalization at the core of all of it.  Globalization has sacrificed the working class of the Western World, and concentrated wealth in the h

My post was clearly within forum rules.    I accept the given reality that many members here routinely express their opinions in terms of what happens in the United States regardless of the topic....it is normalized behaviour in Canadian media as well...reflexive and predictable.

Accordingly, I reserve the right to do the same within forum rules.

Can you back up your claim or give me your numbers for actual indictments and convictions.

I don't have to...the Washington Post and others did so years ago...before you used America's Google to find another partisan rant.

Works fine for me without a subscription.    You have to be smarter than your (probably American) browser.    Has nothing to do with Fox News Corp.

President Trump's job approval ratings have remained very consistent regardless of the usual (wishful) predictions from across the border.    At this rate, the "slow painful death" will take more than two terms as president.

The "numbers" still don't jibe with your first meme post....easily spotted by another member who is no supporter of Team Trump.

Plenty of indictments and convictions regardless of who is president or when the crimes were committed.

Ok Ill leave it as the gop is by far more corrupt and wont give any numbers since you cant provide your tally..

I don't need a tally...only a partisan hack would prefer one party over another when it comes to corruption by both.

If it is from across the border...stranger still.

Trump has no ethics convictions, unlike somebody else we know.

Not too bad for a "slow, painful death".   Justice Ginsburg should be as lucky as Trump.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Just Voted Against Trump's Asylum Restrictions From Her Hospital Bed.Trump asked her how she was feeling and she replied I am fine....its not like i had bone spurs

Also, how do the Ford and Nixon eras, 1968 - 1976, add to ten years?

  •

“I made a comment recently where I claimed that Republican
administrations had been much more criminally corrupt over the last 50
plus years than the Democrats. I was challenged (dared actually) to
prove it. So I did a bit of research and when I say a bit I mean it
didn’t take long and there is no comparison.

When comparing criminal indictments of those serving in the executive
branch of presidential administrations, it’s so lopsided as to be
ridiculous. Yet all I ever hear about is how supposedly “corrupt” the
Democrats are. So why don’t we break it down by president and the
numbers?

Obama (D) – 8 yrs in office. Zero criminal indictments, zero
convictions and zero prison sentences. So the next time somebody
describes the Obama administration as “scandal free” they aren’t
speaking wishfully, they’re simply telling the truth.

Bush, George W. (R) – 8 yrs in office. 16 criminal indictments. 16
convictions. 9 prison sentences.

Clinton (D) – 8 yrs in office. 2 criminal indictments. One conviction.
One prison sentence. That’s right nearly 8 yrs of investigations. Tens
of millions spent and 30 yrs of claiming them the most corrupt ever
and there was exactly one person convicted of a crime.

Bush, George H. W. (R) – 4 yrs in office. One indictment. One
conviction. One prison sentence.

Reagan (R) – 8 yrs in office. 26 criminal indictments. 16 convictions.
8 prison sentences.

Carter (D) – 4 yrs in office. One indictment. Zero convictions and
zero prison sentences.

Ford (R) – 4 yrs in office. One indictment and one conviction. One
prison sentence.

Nixon (R) – 6 yrs in office. 76 criminal indictments. 55 convictions.
15 prison sentences.

Johnson (D) – 5 yrs in office. Zero indictments. Zero convictions.
Zero prison sentences.

So, let’s see where that leaves us. In the last 53 years, Democrats
have been in the Oval Office for 25 of those years, while Republicans
held it for 28. In their 25 yrs in office Democrats had a total of
three executive branch officials indicted with one conviction and one
prison sentence. That’s one whole executive branch official convicted
of a crime in two and a half decades of Democrat leadership.

In the 28 yrs that Republicans have held office over the last 53 yrs
they have had a total of (a drum roll would be more than appropriate),
120 criminal indictments of executive branch officials. 89 criminal
convictions and 34 prison sentences handed down. That’s more prison
sentences than years in office since 1968 for Republicans. If you want
to count articles of impeachment as indictments (they aren’t really
but we can count them as an action), both sides get one more. However,
Clinton wasn’t found guilty while Nixon resigned and was pardoned by
Ford (and a pardon carries with it a legal admission of guilt on the
part of the pardoned). So those only serve to make Republicans look
even worse.

With everything going on with Trump and his people right now, it’s a
safe bet Republicans are gonna be padding their numbers a bit real
soon.

I already addressed this above.  Ford was only ini office 2 years.  Sloppy numbers.

Our numbers are not the same.  Mine give hiring more workers a fudge factor of several billion.  Yours ignore both the actual cost of the wall and the disruptions it will cause on the US side as well as its maintenance costs.

The cost of the wall is actually an up front cost that doesn’t affect future budgets nearly as much as the lack of the wall. Is wall maintenance going to cost more than extra border guards iznogood?

A lot of that money for the wall even comes back in the form of taxes. Money spent building helicopters and drones and training mechanics and pilots and k-9 units etc doesn’t come back. It’s a long-term commitment to a big budget.

Probably because the people that watch CNN love the Schadenfreude of this POTUS being an crazy, immature, impulsive, crude person. . . and constantly proving it.

I'd say it's an obsession with CNN and the Trump/Russia thing.

I love how people, Trump included, assume media reports on the Investigation is all the information available. We still don't know what the people who are co-operating with the FBI are saying. We have no idea what Flynn has said.

Trump will leave office before any motion is tabled to kick him out of office. Essentially he cannot be charged with anything being the POTUS until he steps down or is forced out. THEN you can bring charges on him ect.

Mark my words, Trump won't see any prosecution regarding this at all.  That's how much faith I have in the broken government.

TBH Cohen has already implicated Trump in a crime. He's going to jail for 3 years. If Trump wasn't POTUS, he's be right behind Cohen.

People who don't see a crime are putting their head in the sands. Everything Trump has done regarding his election is under investigation. And not by the "Dems!" by Law Enforcement. Now in January the Dems get to investigate Trump and they aren't going to be hush hush about it like Mueller has.

It's going to get a lot worse for Trump.

Trump is going to come of this on top.  It's not what I want to see, but that's the reality of it all.   I would wish for Trump to be impeached, but so far no evidence of anything that is impeachment worthy.

Each month since Trump was elected CNN's mouthpieces kept saying 'this is the beginning of the end' for the Trump Administration.  CNN is Chicken Little and the sky is always falling.
