Time to take on far-right terrorists

I think he put his foot in his mouth. People don't realize that Canada has one of the toughest immigration system compared to the rest of Western world. In fact, many countries are trying to model theirs to be like Canada's. Of all of the permanent residents who come to Canada each year, a whopping 65% of them are economic migrants, like skilled workers. This is a huge percentage compared to all other Western countries. We only average around 25,000 refugees a year. This is peanuts compared to the 300,000 permanent residents we allow in. Most of the refugees are handpicked and many of them are sponsored privately. I just find the emotion and energy invested in the immigration talk to be kind of sad.

So this is all BS?

Quote

Before the tweet, border officials prevented 315 people a month from illegally crossing the border. Post-tweet in 2017, about 18,149 illegally crossed the border, then claimed asylum as refugees — even after entering illegally — and were allowed to stay, get welfare, education, housing, healthcare and work permits. By May 2018, the number of refugee cases pending has jumped to 54,906 from 18,348 in December 2016. That’s the population of Grande Prairie, Alberta or Granby, Quebec.

Toronto Mayor John Tory has called the situation a “crisis” and said he’s “frustrated” by the lack of help from Ottawa to mitigate a migrant flood that has cost taxpayers more than $64 million and counting.

Thanks for clearing that up.

No it's not. He messed up big with his fake open arms comments. We have a big backlog and specific rules when it comes refugees requesting asylum. Most of these people will not receive permanent residency in Canada, because they have already requested asylum in another safe country: U.S. The problem is the backlog which has created a long wait time. Each individual will have to go through a process and until they get their time in court, they will have a chance to be in Canada with a work permit and medical coverage.

What I said earlier about 25k refugees is in regards to the average number of asylum seekers that we allow each year. That's how much is allocated under the immigration program. This mess we have now is an unexpected mess, created because Trudeau loves the image he has created for himself and Canada around the world.

  • Did Trudeau mess up with his comments? Of course.
  • Is Trudeau responsible for the costs Canada is enduring? Indirectly. This is how our system works when it comes to asylum seekers. The ones who recently came in from the U.S., were not part of any plan.
  • Are Trudeau's policies towards immigration any different than Harper's? There is very little difference between their policies. Trudeau has continued the same policies that Harper had.

You think 'white supremacy' is a religion?

No I don't. But just because they aren't religious views doesn't mean these views should be banned if enough people find them distasteful.

Free speech doesn't only apply to the religious, it applies to far right terrorists too.

Speaking of white supremacists ... they were not made welcome in Toronto last Saturday!  :lol:

https://globalnews.ca/news/5088477/far-right-rally-planned-saturday-toronto/

“I strongly condemn the ideology & tactics of white supremacists planning to demonstrate & disrupt today in our city,” [Mayor] Tory said. “There is no place for them in our Toronto.”

...

Pegida, a far-right, anti-Islam group, held a rally near University Avenue and Dundas Street on Saturday afternoon.

Around 30 Pegida protesters showed up, [and] around 250 counter-protesters,

PEGIDA tried to march, counter-protesters sat down and stopped them, police managed to escort the PEGIDA pigs away via a subway entrance.

Bye bye creeps!

I am pleased to Toronto handle this the way it should: No 'parade' permit for PEGIDA, and no police escort for their march, as it should be.

So you're for Islamification of the West? Interesting. But not surprising...

The anti-Muslim rhetoric of white supremacists is not necessarily protected as free speech.

Free speech does not apply when to inciting or promoting hatred against identifiable groups of people (simply because they belong to the group: e.g., Muslim, Jewish, Black, gay, trans, immigrants, etc).

It's a high standard for charges (must be approved by the Attorney General) and conviction.

EG

Jim Keegstra, Alberta holocaust denier, convicted 1985.

Kevin J Johnstone, Mississauga currently facing Section 319 charges.

Paul Fromm, Hamilton, currently under investigation for Section 319 violations.

Islam has been on the move for 900 yrs when they announced they will be back. Islam today is not compatible with any other religion. They still preach today about killing non believers. Islam is stuck in the 10th century, and the scariest part is young people especially women that seem to believe they are the peaceful nation. Canada has been called the best country to live for a very long time, thanks to the white christian people that built this country. Islam had nothing to do with the greatness of this country, but they will ruin it.

White supremacy ruins it.

Harper would not have allowed the 1000's to walk across the border from america.

I don't think anyone disagrees that Trudeau shot himself in the foot with his "open arms" comment.

However, it didn't end when they entered the country: The fact remains that those asylum-seekers will be processed according to the rules, and many won't be able to stay in Canada.

Pegida is against the Islamification of the West. Not for any particular skin colour like you're obsessed with.

I can only assume that since they're your enemy, you're for Islam dominating the West as you've always alluded anyways.

Illegal immigrants are criminals. If I tried to enter Canada by hopping the border I'd be arrested...and I live here.

Trudeau has denied white South Africans from wanting to immigrate to Canada because of their apartheid past. Not one has been allowed in as far as I know. But yet the kid has no problem with letting in thousands of Muslims and their evil religion every year. I could go as far as to say that this appears to be an act of racism against white people. Just saying.

taxme, if you ever bothered to get your facts straight, you wouldn't have to get your pants in a knot so much.

White South Africans immigrate to Canada all the time.

One man tried to get in as a refugee and was denied.

Can you re-post Trudeau's tweet welcoming all South African farmers in fear for their lives to Canada. That'll shut taxme up...do it.

Huntley had failed to provide evidence that he would not get such protection in his home country.

Letting the terrorists into Canada in the first place...like Omar's daddy....Mr Al-Qaeda.

So do we cut immigration from certain nations to prevent this? I think it's a good idea.

Also noting you 'liked' a few posts from members that offered solutions like revoking citizenship. Something you did not like apparently when I proposed that. But at least we are on the same page here.

Here is the issue, all of us believe his open arms comments are the DIRECT CAUSE. we need the asylum seekers number (not refugees) to compare before and after his open arms comments. You cannot just blah blah blah .....

In fact, that open arms comments are the calculated political move go wrong.

Meh, for every one attack by "far right" terrorists there are a hundred attacks by terrorists from groups that the "far left" is in love with and spends all their time covering for.

It's "time to take on" anyone who is willing to kill for a cause, period. Doesn't matter what the cause is. If you believe deeply in something go write a blog, rather than murdering people.

You're free to use your Nazi tactics to solve problems all you like. Just keep me out of your plans to do whatever it is you're planning on doing to the Muslim community in Canada.

Thanks.

I switched your bullets for numbers, just for the sake of clarity.

1) Correct

2) What do you mean by "indirectly"? He made his stupid comment and it's costing us a small fortune. There's nothing indirect about it.

3) Trudeau's "policy" is to grandstand. That's it.

Here's one. It's the first topic I even looked into: language requirements:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/canadian-citizenship/grant/applicants-55-years-older-applications-received-june-11-2015.html
