Walls, Libertarians & Club Goods (3 paragraphs)

Recommended Posts

First, the Berlin Wall is fundamentally different from a prison wall. The Berlin Wall kept ordinary people in; a prison wall keeps bad people out. Trump is not the Soviet Union.

Second, Libertarians (I'm not a Libertarian, BTW) understand "walls" badly. IME, Libertarians wrongly view all freedoms (no walls) as good. They're dead wrong .

Club goods. What is a civilised society? In a world where people can travel freely, what is the price to join a club?

1. oh ?  I thought it kept them in ?

2. And why ?

3. The people who put up the walls are allowed to roam as they wish.  Similarly, their money is also.

1. Trump wants to keep people out of America. (The Soviet Union wanted to keep people inside.) I see a difference.

2. I have a wall around my home.

3. In a world where billions of people can easily travel, I get Trump's point.
