Doug Ford just isn't popular

Smart move by ford. He seen what happened in ottawa and the mess they are in. And this thing I understand has to stop at intersections. Nice joke. The left is addicted to spending, even boondoggles. They love it.

Ottawa used a particular technology that isn’t the only one out there.  It’s problems will get fixed and Ottawa will have better rapid transit.  A Hamilton LRT doesn’t have to stop at all or even most intersections depending on how the right of way is constructed and if there are any over/underpasses.  This gets decided by budget, need, and advocacy.  Ultimately the city will get what it deserves, whether it decides to fight for a future with rapid transit or more of the same lousy busing.  Brampton is blowing it for similar reasons.  Rather than starting construction from the Go station north of Queen and Main to Derry and budgeting to dig a short tunnel through the old downtown to avoid congestion on the surface, the council failed to act and will get a lousy busway on a less frequented route.  Which cities are the smart people who can afford to live in any of these cities choosing to live in?   I suppose with lousy amenities a city can choose to compete on price, out-cheaping more advanced cities.

Cities are in competition and need to court talent.

Show me one Ford success story so far.   Raising efficiencies?  The Ford budget outspends the Liberals.  I’ll believe in the Ontario Line when I see it.

Ford blew the purchase of a US utility that would have lowered Hydro costs due to his political interference.  That was at least 100 million out the door.  It took him less than a year in office to achieve that boondoggle.  And where is our damn buck a beer?!

Booing Doug Ford is a thing. To date ...

Special Olympics athletes

Collision Tech conference

Raptors NBA public celebration

https://globalnews.ca/news/5400233/premier-doug-ford-booed-raptors-championship-parade/

What does Doug say?

In an interview with Global News following the Special Olympics event and Collision conference incidents Premier Ford said “these are the same people that have their hands in the public trough that have been getting money from the public, hard-working people, in the back of factories, in the offices, small business owners.”

Oh, that'll make him waaaay more popular! Lol

Ford's widespread budget cuts are affecting everyone, including Conservatives. He's circling the toilet in the polls at present, has shut down the Legislature until after the Federal election - ostensibly so he and MPP's can campaign for Federal candidates, but in reality to SHUT HIM UP because he's damaging Andrew Scheer in the federal polls too.

What's Ford going to do with his 5 months PAID holiday, when no federal politicians want him around, and he can't go to public events without getting booed? Filling pot holes perhaps? Call/text him and ask him what he's doing. 416-805-2156

And now this ...

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/doug-ford-cabinet-shuffle-live-polling-1.5182720

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is no longer finance minister. He was demoted to minister of economic development, job creation and trade. Fedeli's departure from the top cabinet position comes after he oversaw the release of just one provincial budget.

So Ford is punishing Vic Fedeli for the budget ... and the booing?

Telling the truth and making the hard, sensible decisions are never popular.

Anyone can be Bernie Sanders and say "you have a right to get everything that you want, regardless of your effort level or your contributions to society" and get the support of the people at the bottom 35% of the population, economically speaking.

The buck a beer thingy is to give companies the right to sell at a buck. And what deal are you talking about?

What are you taking about? The province's liquor stores were supposed to provide beer for a buck a bottle. Companies have the right to produce it but the government and those it issues licences to are who sell it.

When is Doug going to negotiate a bulk price for beer and then pass those savings on to consumers? Wasn't that the deal?

My understanding is the law stated a minimum , ford changed it toi a dollar. It is up to the beer companies to do it.

And now they refuse to share the report that was claimed to breakdown the 5.5 billion estimate.

Ford is digging his own grave with this.

A hole that was dug very deep for anyone to try to even dig out of. It was the liberals and socialists and even the conservative party's in Ontario that have dug Ontario into a deep financial bloody mess. When the voters always whine for more government, want to pay more taxes because of having a bigger bureaucracy, and fight for less freedom, well this is what they will get. Politicians will never solve any problems. They are the ones that are only good at creating more problems. They are there to protect the citizen, not force themselves and their pet liberal and socialist programs and agendas that no taxpayer has asked for on we the people.

If they did their bloody jobs right and stay out of we the people's lives and faces and mind their own bloody business Ford would not have this hole to dig out of today. The people do know what to do, and what is best for them, if the politicians would get out of the people's way. Sadly, we the people have become the slave workers, and have allowed our politicians to now become our bosses. They bribe us with our own money by pretending that they give a care and want to look after us all from cradle to grave. That grave was already dug for we the people  a long time ago long before we were ever born. Canada has a politician problem, and they seem reluctant to want to fix that problem. Aw well, what more can be said.

Beer Canada, a trade association for breweries, isn’t on board with Ford’s “buck-a-beer” plan, and says high taxes are to blame.

Do you know that the LCBO tells the suppliers what they are going to pay and they pay more than they should.

You mean its still this way, despite everything Doug stands for?

Like Trump and his wall I guess. Oh well must be the Deepstate is just too strong in Ontario.

The buck a beer just speaks to the minimum price the LCBO will allow beer to be charged.

They raised it because of "social responsibility" under the last Liberal government.

With inflation, taxes etc most companies can't charge a buck a beer even if they wanted to.

Changing Ontario's arcane liqour laws prove to be harder because of insane contracts the Liberal government signed. Large cancellation penalties and long terms.

This is similar to how the Harris PCs sold the 407 and now Ontarians have to pay a private company to use a highway their tax dollars built.

Amazingly, the Star, myself and my lefty pinko brother also don't think he is shitting the bed on this.

Really all he has to do is learn to listen to advisors who are expert in this, and ask questions.  Trump never got the hang of this very basic skill and Ford seems to have.  I am grateful.

Premier Ford seems to have grown into the job rather well. I am pleasantly shocked.

Given the f*cknut peanut gallery can't seem to relate to a leader unless they are fat, white, male and stupid we could only imagine how hysterical they would be if Wynne were still premier through this.

Exactly. I’m quite happy to be wrong about such a turn of events.
