Well-well, I am really and truly shocked. Where are all those Canadian leftist liberals and socialists wishing everyone here to have a Happy Canada Day? I thought that this was supposed to be one of the greatest countries on earth to live in? But no one here has said have a HCD? I guess there are not that many patriotic Canadians here after all just as I always thought. Of all the members here I thought that educated member would have been the first here to say so. But I guess at this time I was wrong as he appears to have decided to opt out from saying those three great Canadian words for now.

I would like to say Happy Canada Day to all here but I cannot. To date Canada has only made me an unhappy Canadian camper. Maybe I will next year if king Trudeau is gone and Maxine Bernier is in. Although it is a little bit late now but are there any members here that are ready to say have a Happy Canada Day?  Let's hear from all of you Canadian patriots out there. It's your move. :D

1 July 1867 is a meaningless date anyways, the Canada's were born on 13 September 1759.

I guess that you may be right on there. I was just wondering as to where are all those pro Canada members here, and as to why at least one of them did not come on here and wish everyone a Happy Canada Day. It is now obvious to me that there are no real patriotic liberal/socialist Canadian members here in Canada. Just a bunch of whiners and crybabies who are very good at going after patriots like me for standing up for Canada. I am beginning to think that you are right, Mr. D. Canada is not worth speaking up for nor fighting for anymore. Canadians appear to just like to BMW(bitch, moan, whine)and nothing more. They love their big government and high taxes and enjoy believing the bull chitters out there who can get them all riled up over leftist liberal foolishness. Aw well. What more can be said, eh?

The only significance July 1st holds for me now, is that it is NHL Free Agent Frenzy, the only thing to celebrate being the Leafs clearing cap room and restructuring their defense.

I'm not sad about it, I have lost all my patriotism for Canadian Confederation, in fact I curse it as the pestilence of corruption and dysfunction that it is,

Vive le Quebec, vive Le Quebec libre, vive le Marquis du Montcalm Louis-Joseph.

The Leafs suck just as much as the Canucks do. I doubt that we will ever see the Stanley Cup come back to Canada. July 1st is a joke as I have already noticed here. The liberals and socialists here are only concerned with the rest of the world. July 1st means nothing to them. They are not Canadian. Communists Canadian maybe?

The Leafs are way better run than the Canucks, the Leafs have completely transformed themselves, Tim Leiweke hired Shanny and it's been great ever since, the Canucks are still being run like the Leafs used to be, the owner is the real GM, Harold Ballard.

In terms of winning the Cup, that's up to the Hockey Gods, whomever gets hot at the right time and gets the bounces wins, none the less, the Leafs are doing everything right, Dubas is already the best GM in the league, Jim Benning is just a crony.

I bet that Benning would prefer to follow the Dubas model,  but you can't do that when your owner is meddling and you will be fired if you don't do something stupid to appease him.

Everything has been flipped on its head, the Leafs have cured themselves of the Harold Ballard disease, while all the other Canadian teams are now being run into the ground by Harold Ballard's; Molson in Montreal, Melnyk in Ottawa, the Thompson family in Winnipeg, Katz in Edmonton, the Oil Barons in Calgary, and Aquillini in Van City.

MLSE being owned by Rogers and Bell has been a blessing, RogersBell is the first owner the Leafs have ever had who does not interfere in the running of the team, and all they do is win, first a Grey Cup, then an MLS Cup, then a Calder Cup, now an NBA Championship, God bless you, Larry Tannenbaum.

Let's celebrate Vancouver Canucks style . . . . go downtown and burn some cars! Smash windows, steal things, watch the cops insert their collective thumbs up their collective lazy asses.

Celebrate the Sedin sisters retirement . . . burn some Volvos!

Might need some gas to get the fires started . . . "what!  no gas?"

Oh yeah . . . .$1.749 per litre  =  $7.95 per Imperial gallon.

Canucks  . . . . chronic underachievers.

Canuck fans . . . . stupid. A chicken has a higher IQ.

Happy B-lated Canada Day.

The Canucks have got a real deal superstar in Elias Petterson, and Brock Boeser is a nice complimentary piece, the problem for the Canucks is that they have loaded up with bad contracts and they keep loading up on them, the Canucks are like the Leafs used to be, while the Leafs have become the smartest guys in the room, which as a Leafs fan, is indeed bizarro world.

They both wear blue jerseys, both have brain-dead fans, and the two teams have a combined losing streak of 100 years . . . .

Anything else you care to add ?

Well, I am very happy with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment right now, in terms of winning a Stanley Cup, even when you are a contender there's quite a bit of luck involved, but the Leafs are at least, for the first time in the history of the franchise, doing everything right, this is the first time in my memory that they have been legit contenders.

In the meantime, the Raptors are NBA champs, it's literally beyond belief, never thought I'd see the day.

I had my septic tank pumped out on Canada Day.  Considering the sad state of our nation, getting rid of some shit seemed like a fitting thing to do.  I'll celebrate the day again when this country gets back on track, boots the current government down the road and once again represents something to be proud of as right now it doesn't.

It's a fake news "birth" fabricated after the fact, Canadians didn't even want to confederate in 1867, it was imposed on them from London because the British were not going to fight the American juggernaut for the Canada's ever again.

The real deal formation events were on 13 September 1759; Plains of Abraham, 13 October 1812; Heights at Queenston, and then at the Somme opening on 1 July 1916.

The three battles that made Canada.

Step 1.  Nouvelle France is taken as a war prize, becomes British North America.

Step 2. British North Americans establish a pemanent border and restyle themselves as "Canadians" in the wake of an invasion.

Step 3. The British Empire impales itself on the Somme and the new styled "Canadians" are cast adrift, becoming an American protectorate in the process.

On 1 July 1867 Canada was Britain, "Canada Day" is pure bullshit, although Dominion Day is legit.  Calling Canada a country as of 1 July 1867 would be like calling Prince Edward Island a country now, Canadian Confederation was entirely sub national to Britain at the time,  merely a Dominion, which is by definition not sovereign.

As I say, 1 July for Canada, is really Catastrophe Day, at the Somme, it's nothing to celebrate, it was in fact the worst military defeat in the history of the world, the greatest Empire of them all, blew itself up in an afternoon.

The trauma of that catastrophe casts a long shadow, that is what made Canadians into the fearing, loathing, self defeating people they are now, Canada still has PTSD from the First World War, although it's been submerged in an ocean of state propaganda so that Canadians don't even remember why they are who they are and what really makes them tick.

"Canada Day" is just more Liberal Party of Canada and associated state propaganda arm made up nonsense, it's all of a piece, starting in the 1960's,

The Liberal Party of Canada Flag, the Liberal Party of Canada Song, sung obediently on Liberal Party of Canada Day, in the one party nanny police state.

You don't have to drink the Kool-Aid tho, your real history is still there for you, God save our Queen and bless this Maple Leaf Forever, VRI, Pro Patria.

It would be nice if one day the Vancouver White Caps, the BC Lions, or the lousy Canucks win something. Vancouver has the fans, we just don't have any winnable teams.

PS: Implementing the metric system has been great for the oil companies and the government. If Canada had stayed with the Imperial measurement system the oil companies would not have been able to raise the price of a gallon of gas under the Imperial system as quickly as they have because the price would then have been seen as a bit too much when compared to the price per gallon of gas in America. When the price of gas goes up in Canada by ten cents a liter that works out to about 45 cents a gallon in one shot in America. That would never happen in America where the gas price goes up that high at any one time in America. The oil companies make plenty of money from the metric system in Canada and so does the thieves in the federal and provincial governments. The higher the price for a liter the higher the taxes for them. It has been one great gigantic ripoff against the consumer. Metric was one big joke dumped on the Canadian sheeple without a whimper from them. I buy my gas in America for somewhere between $2.70 to $3.25 a gallon. in Canada a couple of months ago it went up to $7.95 a gallon.

The problem here is that pretty much most Canadians are not aware of the difference in the price of gas between here in Canada and in the States. If they did there maybe should be a revolution over this. Canadians are getting ripped off big time, but do they really care? Nope, they apparently do not and probably never will. Today, it's all about the fake climate change nonsense that they get all uptight over and all for nothing. But as you can see, I am not a very big fan of Canada these days and I am just not able to say HCD. All I ever see these days is how the governments are trying to make Canada an unhappy place to live.  Aw well. What more can be said.

Well in fact Canada is the Confederacy which won the war and lived to tell the tale, and Canada was allied to the Confederacy during the Civil War, the Confederate military intelligence headquarters was at the Queens Hotel on Front Street in downtown Toronto, many Confederates fled to Canada  after the war and were welcomed with asylum, including the baddest of them all, Jubal Early, who wrote A Memoir of the Last Year of the War for Independence, in the Confederate States of America while living in a mansion in Toronto which IIRC is still standing.

Don’t forget to cite that slavery was banned in the British Empire in 1832, we’ll before the US and that Canada was an important destination on the Underground Railway to freedom.

I am aware, although as in the Reconstruction Era in the United States, the de jure slaves in the West Indies remained de facto slaves after, in terms of the Underground Railroad, what blacks found was that while Canada was not supportive of de jure slavery, it was ferociously White Supremacist none the less.

Also note that Britain did not end slavery as a humanitarian exercise, Britain's competitors were slave empires, newly industrialized Britain didn't need it, so the British became the anti-slavers as a power play against the Spanish, Portuguese, etc, moreover the British did not oppose American slavery because of the cotton for the British garment industry.

The British certainly sympathized with the Southrons, it was simply the fear of the mighty Union juggernaut that was mobilized which kept them at bay,  the Union after all, raised a million man army, which was five times the size of the British Army.

The whole purpose of the Army of Northern Virginia invading the North, first time stopped at Antietam Creek, second time stopped a Gettysburg, was to try to convince the British and French to come in on the Confederate side, which was naive of course, Britain and France seeing the monster that the Union was becoming, said no thanks to that.
