The idea that Google is Left-Wing is also hilarious. Just because they don't give equal weight to InfoWars and the New York Times.

You can demonstrate this bias to yourself by doing identical searches in Google and Duck...very revealing.

How so? What do you glean from it?

That articles about how how awful Trump is show up when you try to Google how awesome he is? Must be triggering.

Perhaps Repubs are just really bad at Google.

A Search of "Trump Racist Tweets" gives a result of a variety of MSM sources, but none from the Right. Probably because they wouldn't want to call Trump a racist.

A search of "Trump Baltimore" gives Fox News as the first result. As Trump was just reacting to a story he saw on Fox News that got him to Tweet about Baltimore.

MSM are the guys being pushed to the top.

You're free to go to bat for Google...not sure why...but they've even been caught discussing the 'algorithm' that they use to bury results they don't like.

Cite?

Conservatives are also free to not use Google to search for things if they feel they're providing an inaccurate representation of the internet.

I suspect infowars is shot at SEO though.

Schiff has seen a lot of evidence that you have not seen, so I would take his word for it over yours.

But why do you think Trump denied the evidence that Russia was trying to hack the election during his debate with Hillary, and blamed it instead on China or a fat guy in his basement?

Why did so many people on his campaign team lie about their contacts with Russia?

There is ample evidence of obstruction of justice. What were they obstructing?

But regardless, again, you can't provide one example of the media reporting that Trump colluded, as you said they did. You only found one article reporting on Schiff's words (which BTW no one has proven to be false).

If Schiff had evidence then the FBI has that evidence too. Why does the FBI keep saying that there was no evidence of collusion?

In what way did they obstruct justice? There were something like 500 interrogations. They handed over milions of pages worth of documents. They gave the FBI lieterally every single thing they asked for. So what if Trump said Mueller should be fired - did you see how much of a stuttering boob he is? I wouldn't let him run a lemonade stand.

Contrast Trump's "obstruction of justice" with Hillary's.... They just asked her to hand over a server and some emails. They got neither. The emails were deleted and the server was wiped.

Can you provide me with one single CNN newscast that didn't say Trump colluded with Russia from 2018?

I don't see any difference between NBC and InfoWars...frankly...all talking heads. Although that Millie over at InfoWars is a doll.

Many people think that google is biased, along with FB and Twitter who regularly delete posts/accounts for allegedly breaking the rules, while ignoring the same breaking of rules by others.

So that's a no. Google seems to want to accurately represent what's on the internet.

epresentative Zoe Lofgren, a Democrat who represents Silicon Valley, moved the conversation from personal grievances to societal ones by adopting the perspective of a political foe. Why, she asked, did she get photo after photo of Donald Trump after an image search of “idiot”?

“I just did it,” she assured Pichai at the hearing, in case he suspected that she was repeating some ancient anecdote. “How does search work for that to occur?”

With his detailed accounting of how the Google algorithm operates, Pichai answered her question—undoubtedly, the term “idiot” these days is linked to Trump more closely than anything else online, and the search results dutifully reflect that. But there were further questions lingering, like why should someone making that peculiar, open-ended search be immediately led to divisive politics?

Anything that is blatantly and deliberately misleading is fake news.

If you want to start a thread about Google go for it. This is about Snopes, and their illegitimacy as a "fact checker".

If you think that my opening post was inaccurate or misleading then by all means spell it out for us Boges. You have all the time in the world. As of this second it stands as 100% accurate because you don't have anything to say which contradicts any of the facts in it.

The Soviet Union eventually fell but not because their propaganda machine stopped.  So it will be with the rightistas.  They will still be saying there's a coming ice age, long after Snopes reports (accurately) that they are down to one delusional member :D

I just read the Snopes article. They report on what her father said. But that's not proof. There's not documentation that verifies that this person did own slaves. Therefore it's "unproven".

Quote

However, we have been unable to verify that a line of descent exists between the modern-day Harris family and the 19th-century slave owner. As such, the claim that an ancestor of Sen. Harris owned slaves in Jamaica remains unproven. If evidence emerges that verifies that line of descent, we will update this fact check accordingly.

Probably the safest avenue to go.

More important however, Why does her lineage matter at all?

It's true that Trump was trying to set the stage to declare the election invalid. He was probably surprised the Russian efforts were successful. But you can't answer the simple question of why he was trying to get the heat off Russia during the debate?

As for Schiff, you said the media was wrong to report his words. Now you're saying something entirely different. Could you at least stick to a debating point and follow it through?

Trump wanted people to believe that if he won, it wasn't because of Russian Interference, because he wanted his election to be considered legitimate. Trump was pointing out other alternative parties who could have hacked the DNC, just as easily as Russians could have,  and he pointed that out with the visual imagery of a 400lbs dude in his mom's basement, because that is level of sophistication required to pull it off and it's an image that sticks in people's heads. None of that means he was doing it to hide his collusion with Russia, that is preposterous conclusion to jump to.

The media is perfectly free to report Schiff's words, and I never claimed otherwise. Just because Schiff says it doesn't mean you should believe it though, anymore than you believe anything Trump says, politicians lie for their own gain, and Schiff had every incentive to lie about Trump committing obstruction of justice and worse. Schiff is one of the biggest partisan hacks in American politics, and was long before Trump came along, acting like he is some trustworthy expert everyone should listen to is ridiculous.

Remember that time Trump said "Russia, if you're listening I hope you can find those missing e-mails" ?

Nope, didn't know anything about Russian efforts at all.

He made a joke. That you took seriously, because taking it seriously makes him look bad, which is the only reason you took it seriously.

You are easily fooled by a politicians words, believing the one's who play to your confirmation bias, and always disbelieving the one's who tell you something you don't want to hear, except when believing the words makes them look bad in your eyes, then you all of sudden believe them hook, line and sinker.

I guess much of what Trump says can be thought of as a joke.

Trump makes a lot of jokes, that Demohacks, media and folks like you take seriously when it makes him look bad. If he says something that makes him look good, he's lying, if he says something that makes him look bad if he's being serious, he is always telling the truth. Anything that makes him look good is a lie, and anything that makes him look bad is the truth, that's TDS in a nutshell.

On the one hand you're like, you can't believe anything he says, and then on the other, you pretend a bunch of jokes he made need to be taken hyper seriously and he's being super honest. Make up your mind, which is it?

Confirmation bias is a helluva drug.

Your reading comprehension is next level garbage. When he says something that makes him look bad, you always assume these kind of statements are Trump telling the truth, while at the same time pretending that you can't believe anything he says in any other scenario.

Which is it? Make up your mind.

You only take Trump seriously when it's convenient for a hater to take him seriously, and it reveals just how strong your confirmation bias is when you engage in that level of cognitive dissonance.

We also shouldn't take him seriously when he says he'll build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. Or when he said he could fix Afghanistan by killing 10 million people.

Was it a joke when he told American Citizens to "Go Back where they came from"?

Was it a joke when he criticized a congressman about impoverished parts of his district when Trump states make up the Top 10 of poorest states in the US.

I'm just curious where the Joke v Truth detector is?

Mexico paying for the wall was hyperbole to sell better border security, no one ever took that part seriously except for rubes.

Trump never claimed killing millions of people would fix Afghanistan, he just claimed it would win the war, which is bullshit. He is offering Afghanistan a carrot, while letting them know the stick is ready to come down on them, should they not take the carrot, it's called bluffing for negotiation leverage.

He never told any American citizens to go back where they came from, because in the very same sentence he told them to come back and show us how it's done. It's an expression, he wasn't seriously telling anyone to leave or come back. Funny how you only believe the go back part and ignore the come back part though, shows your obvious bias.

It wasn't a joke when he criticized a congressman for doing little to help Baltimore and helping run the city into the ground with counter-productive Democrat policies, that was just the truth.

Clearly your detector is broken, because TDS prevents you from seeing things clearly. When you stop looking to twist everything Trump says into pure evil  or extreme stupidity, his words make a lot more sense.

You possess the same bias you claim I do.

You put rose coloured glasses and justify anything he says.

The people in his crowd obviously believed he meant that they should "Go Home". As they chanted "Send them Back" at a Rally a few days later.

Is it also truth that Conservative States make up the poorest places in the US? How about Trump tell his GOP congressman to do their job as well?

Wrong. I criticize him all the time, I point when he's lying all the time, but because agree with all your worst critiques, you assume I will justify anything he says.

How do you know they weren't just having fun with the chant, and all of them were hyper serious and want her deported? Trump has clarified what he meant on numerous occasions, and it was plain as day in the original tweets, for anyone not trying to twist his words.

Trump attacks everyone who attacks him, including Republicans, and white people, not just minorities and women, pretending otherwise is asinine. Attacking congressmen who happen to be minorities and/or women, doesn't mean he's doing it because they are minorities and/or women, derp.

Criticizing a decaying city, that isn't majority white, isn't racist against minorities, and criticizing a decaying city that is majority white, isn't racist against whites. The leap of logic to pretend any such statements are racist is beyond ridiculous.

Joking around or not. It's racist. It's also racist to claim that they "Hate America" because they criticize him. By the continued logic MAGA is an example of hatred for America.

Ahh so the state of one's district only matters when they are criticizing him. Gotcha! I'd like to see Trump be consistent and criticize poor white states/cities then.
