Currency is simply liquidity, but it is not equity in of itself.   So for example I have money, but If I just leave it in the bank and do nothing with it, I don't own anything therein.

This is why when you have money, you invest it in various forms of equity, you have to find places to park your money.

@Dougie93 Money is merely a medium for exchanging value, no? It's value comes from what it can buy whether it's invested or not, no? Meaning, the more value it represents, the wealthier I am, no?

Think of it this way, lets say I give you a million dollars, but then you go to Las Vegas and blow it all on gambling, hookers and blow, were you ever actually rich?

Just because I choose to blow it on hookers and blow, doesn't mean I wasn't rich once - right? My poor decisions made me poor again.

Looping back, would it be a poorer decision to vote for someone you know nothing about, or who represents changing things you know nothing about, or to simply not vote at all?

You never actually got rich, all you had was the liquidity in hand, that is not wealth in of itself, wealth is owning assets which accrue value, money is not wealth, it's just IOU's

Voting is simply choosing a representative, it's not a direct democracy, you have other things to do, you can't be running the government, that's the MP's job.

@Dougie93 Ah! Brings back child hood memories of the board game Monopoly.

Are you saying that the more one owns the wealthier one is? What happens when the few who own so much are challenged by the many who own so much less? Maybe the choice to own everything becomes unwise, no?

It's not a zero sum game, the drive to invest incites expansion, zero sum game is fallacy.

And there goes the whole "peaceful transfer of power". Up in smoke. ;)

Civil wars do happen, I am prepared for that eventuality as well in extremis, I am more than capable of recruiting and training armies,  the RCR Battleshcool covers all that as well.

@Shady

Thank you for your response. Would you be willing to elaborate a bit please?

No problem.  I think that everything in life is better doing when you’re informed rather than not.  And the results are usually better for everyone.

The few who own so much will be able to afford better weapons.  :(

It's not about the weapon, it's all about who is carrying it.  The knowledge of how to employ it maximum effect, the resolve to use it, the organization to employ force en masse.

Ultimately the power of an army is in the heart and in the mind.    The belief in the cause, the resolve to kill and die for it.

So for example there was a time when I was resolved to kill and die for Canada, but now I wouldn't cross the street to piss on it if it was on fire.

I am the weapon system, the human weapon system, the ultimate weapon system, once Canada's to command, now no longer.

When sovereign can no longer recruit men of honor prepared to kill and die for her, that shall crown shall fall in the wake.

But can they live with themselves when the dust settles? ;)

You quickly learn to hate the enemy, couple rounds snap over your head, you're ready to gut them like a fish and sleep like a baby after.

Ah, the enemy. Do we really have a common enemy? If anything, the common enemy is the systems we create that protect ancient philosophies, slowing progress and limiting creativity.

Homo Sapiens Sapiens apex predator male; hyper tribal, hyper territorial; I gotta be me.

We are very creative, we created the three stage fission-fusion tritium boosted thermonuclear device.

Very progressive, no more massed military conventional wars required.

Everything I have, all my liberties, all my prosperity, all my free time not having to soldier, is a product of war and the hydrogen bomb born of it.

Glorious Revolution, Seven Years War, War of Independence, Civil War, First World War, Second World War, Cold War. . .

. . . and then here I am, enjoying the fruits of those labors, in the Empire of Liberty.

Is that apex predator male who is hyper tribal and hyper territorial a product of his environment? If so, can that environment be changed? Seems improbable under the current system. Perhaps we should try a new approach. Nevertheless, I get the feeling that one uneducated or non-vote will not change the outcome.

I don't care about education, you read some books, whoop dee doo,

All I care about is honor, fidelity, loyalty;  will you stand with the men to the left and right of you, or will you flee when the chips are down?

It's only because Canada is a nation of bourgeois fops who are protected by Americans, that you keep bringing up education as some sort of virtue.

The educated bourgeois fops of Canada are useless without the American men of honor who secure their liberties for them.

I would advise people not to bother with a liberal arts education, it's just a scam.

Acquire assets which accrue value, then you can buy your own books and read them.

Serve in the military and become a warfighter, then you are of some use to people in a crisis.

Aspire to be a man of honor who holds to his oaths, that is what the people really need.

Trust in the Lord,  live without fear.

God, Queen, Country.  Victoria Regina Imperatrix.  Mother Canada.

Vote with your feet; run to the sound of the guns.

Interesting perspective. Are you saying that Canada does not have Canadians who secure its people's liberties? Or are you saying that American forces secure the liberties of the Canadians who secure its people's liberties? Seems like an onion of epic proportions!

I tried to secure Canadian liberties for 22 years, Canada just wouldn't provide us with the equipment to do the job, so I just had to move on.

Everything, we had no logistics tail, we were totally reliant on the Americans, might as well just have joined the US military instead.

@Dougie93 What jobs have we done well, what jobs have we been unable to do, and what jobs need more attention currently?

In terms of Canadians Confederation, to wit Canada, it doesn't do anything well, it's totally dysfunctional.

Provinces do most jobs well, it's your province which delivers almost all your relevant services.

The federal government is a clown show, worse than useless, a burden not a boon, despite that,  the provinces pick up the pieces and carry on.

Like Ontario I have no hatred for,  Ontario has has problems like everywhere else, but on the whole, Ontario does a pretty good job, nothing to hate on at least.

It's Ottawa who I hate, the federal government is the cancer which is killing Canada, Ontario would be much better off without them.

Ottawa is the ultimate Self Licking Ice Cream Cone, it serves no purpose other than to perpetuate its own corruption and incompetence.
