This is a lie.

You can actually often tell a hell of a lot about someone by what they're wearing. At 83, or whatever you are, you should know this already.

You are engaging in a similar defective argument people make defending Trump. You try deflect from the  issue of Muslim extremism by raising criticism of  Western states' foreign policies and/or human

Muhammad had no sense of shame? Well, I suppose that's true. If you figure all you do is godly then there's no reason to feel shame.

When you don't understand the topic, just say something and pretend it relates to the topic. They will all think they're the ones who are confused.

Can you prove Iran has legalized murder and terrorism?

Do you have anything to say about the topic?  Or are you just here to promote Islam?  I ask because that is one of the most "I haven't got a clue what's going on in Iran" comments I've ever heard.

Are you sure?

I'm an apostate and no one has tried to kill me.

On the other hand, I worked with a few Muslims who wanted out of Islam and were afraid for their lives, seen the news articles about Muslims killing for apostasy in country after country, seen the rioting and killing over a cartoon for blasphemy,  know about the death fatwas on journalists and writers, so......

Yeah.  Pretty sure.

Are you denying this?

Ok so you don't have proof — I guessed that.

That's not what I was talking about of course.

You have a lot of experience with Muslims. Exclusively bad ones?

I don't read them much, but never heard of anyone having been executed on the basis of apostasy — that would be illegal.

Who?

Exactly what?

That Muslims tend to object to insulting cartoons? No.

That there was a fatwa by someone from Iran for the punishment of the writer who wrote about the satanic verses? No.

That some Muslims worry for their safety if they leave islam? No.

Yes, the ONLY problem with burkas and hijabs is the people who think they're an extreme, fundamentalist religious garb.  What a bunch of nutters, right???

In Western countries, pretty much, yup.

A Muslim female can be beaten and controlled by her father/mother/brothers or boyfriend/husband regardless of whether or not she's wearing an hijab or not.  The issue isn't the garb, it's the patriarchy of the religion itself.  Limiting religious garb doesn't help women who are oppressed.  Depending on how draconian the laws are, it will only help a woman's oppressor.

In Quebec, forbidding religious garb only in government places isn't too draconian, but I still think it's wrong in a country which has held freedom of religion as one of its core values.

It's also stupid because real Islamic extremists (the ones you can't identify because they look and dress just like us) will use it to foment hatred against Western countries and their citizens.  If Teena's wish for the law to be implemented across Canada came true, that would give extremists even more propaganda material.

In protest of the oppression of Muslim women you wish to oppress Muslim women. That should teach the Muslim women how oppressed they are. Domestic violence in Muslim families is something you might as well think about after you have tried to solve all the other lesser 'problems' first.

They engage in terrorism and murder in other countries.

If a country has laws calling for death penalty for what they deem a crime, its not murder, its execution.  It hardly matters if the law itself is just, or if people inside or outside of the country approve of the law.  If a government kills it's own citizens in contravention of its own laws, that would be murder.

Some Western countries have anti-blasphemy laws, which are rarely, if ever, enforced.  Some Islamic countries have anti-blasphemy laws which includes the death penalty, but rarely enforce it to that degree.

I don't like those laws either, even if they're rarely enforced.  I think they're wrong, but I'm not about to hold every Muslim in the world responsible for them, especially those who choose to come to live in Canada.

No I was in shock. He was drinking, angry and yelled at me. I was too scared to move. I was young. Today I would have jumped on that a-hole! She divorced him shortly after and I still babysat for her for a couple of years.

Oh I'm sure it will eventually.

Trump's Muslim ban and now look at the Bill India just passed ... Here we go again with the Muslim Association claiming it's targeting Muslims only, just like Bill 21.

It's really weird that you think that the ONLY problem with hijabs and burkas are the people who don't like them - not the religion that requires it and punishes with death and beatings those who disobey, not the men who use it to control women, not the long and bloody history of it, not how it denigrates women, not how it damages women and girls psychologically, not how it gives men a misogynistic view of women.

Weird and sad, I guess.
