Actually, Canada ran out of tariff headroom, and struggled to match Trump's tariffs and threat of 25% on autos.

Trump hammered Canada more than Russia....no wonder you are so upset !

That's not true....the Cold War was far larger than that....more than NATO as well.

I should know....I fought in that war, and that version of "ally" Canada disappeared long ago...is now an impotent NATO deadbeat.

Canada addressed the threat posed by Communist sympathizers in a manner more moderate than in the United States. The United States wished the Canadian government would go further, asking for a purging of trade unions, but the Canadian government left the purge of trade unions to the AFL-CIO. The American officials were especially concerned about the sailors on Great Lakes freight vessels, and, in 1951, Canada added them to those already screened by its secret anti-communist screening program. The Communist Party of Canadahad not been outlawed since Section 98 was repealed by Prime Minister Mackenzie King in 1935.[1

answer the question. if you can. because you seem not to be able to. a little confused.

"Trump says Russia is our friend and NATO is our enemy, what do I say to Canadians? do I call them dogs? that's what i'll do..."

Russia is not a NATO deadbeat bloodsucker...like Canada.

Canada's ex-foreign minister is an agent of Ukraine.

So stop watching American impeachment hearings and fight Russia yourself.

ok, well I'm really glad that your Rusky colors are on display finally, Babochka. when you say you fought in the cold war... what side was that on? I think we know.

and by the way, fuck you. get the fuck off of this forum. I don't think Canadians need to have you school us about how Russia is such a lovely ally and that Canadians are blood sucking dogs. I think you'd be happier in some other pro Russian forum or something. seriously, I get what all of the other Trump supporters are about on this site but you are truly a horrifying piece of work.

Tell us what you really think !

Hint:  Begging Trump to save Ukraine is not the same as saving Ukraine.

Correct...NATO deadbeat bloodsuckers.

Ukraine is a personal pet project for Freeland, but she needs Trump's help to make things happen.

Trump wants Biden...so make a deal.

Military aid, economic aid, keeping Russia out of G-8, NATO funding, etc., etc.

Even Freeland knows that Canada is weak and has little impact without American muscle.

...Bodnar’s overarching message: Ukraine wants no part of the drama and doesn’t want to be seen to be interfering; but at the same time, the United States is a vital ally in Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia, and their bilateral relationship must be preserved at all costs.

Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland opened the conference on Friday morning by returning to a theme of past speeches: she offered a thinly veiled criticism that America is undermining the “international rules-based order” under Donald Trump’s leadership, while being careful not to specifically mention Trump or the U.S.

Irrespective of Trump...the Ukraine saga and Freeland's loyalty to same precedes Trump by many years.

Canada/Freeland know that without American backing, it can't really do much except virtue signaling.

Hell, Canada wouldn't even be in the G-7 were it not for President Ford...France wanted to keep Canada out.

Not entirely true.

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4903787

According to Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, the French president had written to indicate the conference was intended to be small and there was no intended slight in not inviting Canada.

"We, of course, would have liked to have been invited to the meeting at Rambouillet, but we are pleased that [U.S.] President [Gerald] Ford and [British] Prime Minister [Harold] Wilson, and the Japanese and the Germans ... have pressed to have us present at Rambouillet," said Trudeau.

Mostly true...and off topic...but it illustrates the influence that U.S. presidents have...then..and now....much more than Canadian PMs or foreign ministers.

France didn't want more members from the so called Anglosphere (Quebec didn't count).

The Ukraine sought protection from the West after the Cold War, only to be rebuffed out of NATO/EU concerns over Russia.

...which leads to Trump being able to leverage influence over Zelensky.

Relations between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) started in 1994.[1]Ukraine applied to begin a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) in 2008.[2][3] Plans for NATO membership were shelved by Ukraine following the 2010 presidential election in which Viktor Yanukovych, who preferred to keep the country non-aligned, was elected President.

wrong again, but thanks for playing.  ^_^

NATO membership...DENIED !!!

NATO/EU did not want to poke the bear any further, or spend the blood and treasure to do so.

Americans were not going to die for Ukraine, and neither would Canadians.

...long before Trump.

yeah sure... you know, Vlad is doing such a good job. the worlds 2nd largest oil producer, the largest country in the world, rich in natural resource wealth with a population size of japan, and gdp consistently behind Canada at 11 or 12 and a standard of living at 65th! yet he and all his buddies are, you know, fucking billionaires!

I don't think Russians are as worried about personal wealth as most westerners are. Their geopolitical situation is entirely different from ours.

They share borders with China, NoKo and ten other countries. Many of them have been enemies of Russia at one point or another. They're not far from a lot of Nato countries. The US is only a small distance from Russia over the arctic circle, Turkey is to the south, to the west is the bulk of NATO, and now NATO is courting Ukraine which is right on their border. That's like if Russia was supplying Mexico with military aid.

Russians don't just want a strong leader, they need a strong leader. They couldn't survive two terms of a PM like Trudeau, corruption aside.

are you really comparing Trudeau to Putin?

look you know how things work in Russia right? any profitable business is "appropriated by the state" which means that owners are jailed and then they are given deals that see their assets turned over to one of the Oligarchs. oh, and by the way, they immediately ship that money out of the country like most dictatorships because they know that there is a high degree of probability that they eventually be ousted so no need to be keeping that dirty money inside the country to be re-appropriated.

but hey, its the new age of "Russian love" that Trump is pushing... even though all other Rs are unmoved. Trump is the only guy... for...some... strange... reason. (ok not strange, he's a Russian asset).

You obviously didn't understand what was written there:

That means that Russia couldn't have a dim-witted, snivelling, terrorist sympathizer. Trudeau's level of corruption wasn't really a consideration for this topic. He's just average by far-eastern standards.

In what way do you see Trump pushing "Russian love"? Is it like this"

or like this:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2014/03/20/flashback-obamas-debate-zinger-on-romneys-1980s-foreign-policy/

or more like this:

Or is it like when Hillary pays Russians for bogus intel on her political opponent, which the FBI passes along to the FISA court to get a warrant to spy on Americans, stating that it's verified & corroborated when they knew that neither was true?

It doesn't seem, from the video evidence, that Trump is the Russian asset, but don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument gz.
