Pipeline protestors need to be jailed

The BC government legislation is not the UN Treaty...

Nor is UNDRIP a treaty. Whatever else you say or think that's predicated on that erroneous assumption will also be wrong.

I can't ever see a past Canadian PM ever agreeing to such a situation.

If they aren't in Canada then they shouldn't receive any of the rights and benefits.  Are they Canadian citizens?  Do they get a vote?

This comes down to the law, and neither you nor I or lawyers on aboriginal legal rights.

Dam right. So why have these bunch of ingrates been receiving free taxpayer's tax dollars for all these bloody decades? They despise Canada but yet they have no problem taking tax dollars from the taxpayer's of Canada. It is time to stop paying them and let then go out and do whatever they have to do to survive like the rest of us are trying to do outside their precious ancestral land. Let them build a bloody casino on their land and try to make some money on their own for a change, and give the taxpayer's a break from paying them to always be a thorn in our taxpayer's sides. Gawd, when is this country ever going to grow some real and true conservative ba-ls?

In socialist countries it generally requires a combination of fiscal/economic crisis coupled with an humiliating military defeat of some sort.

Actually with the right reforestation, community development, transportation, and energy infrastructure, we could develop Canada for the next 300 years, including with selective immigration.  It won’t be a zero carbon footprint economy and will require big carbon sinks.

At that point let’s hope aliens and interstellar settlement take care of us.  Population should naturally plateau and decline with education and urbanization.

With the United Nations plan to try and drop a million new immigrants into Canada every year, with Emperor Trudeau all for the plan, in 5 years there would be over 5 million new immigrants coming to Canada. If you think that the forests can survive that kind of onslaught, development taking up more forest land, transportation and infrastructure which will mean more vehicles on the road and more forests gone, in the next 300 years, there will be no more forest left. The zero carbon foot would be unreal.

We mostly select more new immigrants who can offer not a bloody thing for Canada except maybe open up more new foreign restaurants and corner stores, and their only true desire to come here is to really try and get their huge families to immigrate to Canada. I wish someone could point out to me as to where all this massive immigration from the 3rd world that has been going on for several decades now into Canada has done anything good or great for Canada? Can you tell me, Zeitgeist?

The only people that seem to get arrested and jailed here are the ones who go out there and protest against these pipeline eco-terrorists. They are the real problem according to the l-a-w. These ANTIFA commie terrorists try and blackmail the country for weeks, and well, that is all okay with our illustrious politicians and the police. The police stand by while crimes are being committed right in front of them. Do the police work for we the people or for those politically correct useless bunch of politicians?  Try and go out and commit a crime in front of the police? You will get arrested right away. But it would appear as though if you are a part of some special interest minority group of trouble makers, well you get a free pass. Anarchy and terrorism is now the rule of the day in Canada.

PS: This reminds me of an incident that happened in Toronto where a couple of years ago a Christian preacher was standing on the corner preaching about the bible. The police came along and ordered him to leave or else. At the same time there were some Muslims doing the same thing on the other side of the street, and they were not asked to leave by the police. Anyone starting to see as to what is going on in this country? The picture that I am seeing here is that if one belongs to a special minority interest group they get a pass, while the other gets to go to jail. These pipeline protesters and the Muslims are the special minority groups of people of the day who can do whatever they bloody well please with no fear of arrest or removal.

This country has been going to hell for the last 50 years and still the majority of decent folk do nothing about it. They just sit back and watch and keep allowing the country to get worse. A small minority of special interest groups will always keep getting their way and running and ruining this country. The minority rules this country, and with the liberals, NDP, separatist Bloc, and the Greens in power, this will never change or end. And if anyone thinks that there just may be a no confidence vote happen one day soon, that will never happen.

Those party's I mentioned above are all like four peas in a pod. They will stick together like glue because they all are liberals, socialists, communists and environmentalists and all working their hardest to try and destroy this once great nation. They all do not want to see any pipelines built anymore in Canada. They prefer to want to spend their useless time trying to deindustrialize Canada. They all despise Canada and have total contempt for we the majority of people of Canada. Thanks Toronto. Thanks Maritimes. Well done. Good job. You fools are only going to hurt your own selves in the end by constantly voting for all those foolish political party's that I mentioned above. Pipeline protesters do not get arrested. Only the ones that protest the protesters are the ones that get arrested. At least that is what I am noticing every day. ;)

Not employed by the Department of National Defence, but none the less loyal to my Commander-in-Chief,  and one never leaves the regiment, but feet first in a pine box, colours flying, pipes skirling.

Victoria, Queen & Empress Pro Patria.

Your Commander-in-Chief could careless about you and your loyal service to her. I retired from my job and I have no more loyalty to that job anymore. The only connection that I have to my old job is to the pension checks that I keep getting from them every month. I have left that regiment. ;)

1  I have as yet to encounter a band or council who has done diddly squat to EARN any respect, so they get none.

2 Horgan is a BC politician, not a treaty commissioner.

3 The government has always been at the table, the "hereditary chiefs" (WTF is THAT supposed to be????) left it 2 years ago.

1 What is it you wanted them to do? Is the feeling mutual?

2 Horgan is 'the Crown' who has a duty to consult when the government contemplates actions that may infringe on Aboriginal rights - ie, BEFORE he grants the permits.  He didn't.

3 Evidence/links please.

Canadians are subjects of her Majesty.

You need to be eligible for a UK passport to be a UK citizen.

The Orangemen of Ulster predate the founding of the United Kingdom, as we are the ones who founded it.

The UK was formed by the Union of Great Britain with Ireland in 1801.

Doesn't make you a UK citizen though.

You are merely a subject of Her Majesty.

The Queen of Canada is our queen, not the Queen of Britain.  These are legal titles that have been around since 1953.

I've had numerous neighbours born in the UK who came over to Canada and thought we were still subject to British rule.  We aren't.

It's the other way around.

I date from the Articles of Union 1707, under the Act of Settlement 1701, Sophia of Hanover ftw.

You are mere citizen of the United Kingdom, I am an American who has undertaken to defend the British Crown in North America under the United Kingdom - United States Security Agreement, to which you are the junior partners.

You date from 1960's Canada. Only your ancestors date from 1701.

You would not be automatically qualified for UK citizenship any more than I would qualify for Canadian citizenship. You would have to earn it like any other foreigner.

1960's Canada was more British than the British, the United Kingdom is Pakistan West now.

I wouldn't undertake additional obligations to the United Kingdom, that's too many bases to cover.

America takes no position against dual citizenship, none the less : America first : Upper Canada is in Fortress America, Europe is expendable downrange.

Which is technically German rule, by way of Sophia of Hanover, under the Act of Settlement 1701

If you're neither a military member of the US or British armed forces how can you do that?

Aren't you also retired, aka civilian?
