My people were the one's who drove the Acadians out, but the Acadian culture persists in America whence they were driven, in Louisiana.

So your people were the ones so afraid of the Acadians, they put the women and children on boats in secret and threatened to burn them if the men didn't get on board? Ya definitely sounds like a heritage to be proud of and want to conserve

I just turned on the news to try and get a Covid-19 update.... What do I see, hundreds of Native protestors trying to stop a mining convention in downtown Toronto. We're in a pandemic. We need to pass

Or so says a new poll. Apparently 69% of Canadians feel we're 'broken' and not heading in the right direction.  The poll was mainly about indigenous issues, but I would argue we're broken in many othe

Environmental protestors are dumb as a rock. What happens to environmental protection when you destroy the economy? If the pipeline doesn't privide jobs and stability to Northern BC, people will just

They weren't afraid of the Acadians, but my ancestor was press ganged into the Royal Navy at Liverpool to fight in the Seven Years War, the Acadians were the enemy.

As always your selective memory and ability to cherry pick history would almost be commendable if it were not so intellectually and morally dishonest.

Read a bit about acadians will you.

Here's a couple quick facts to start you out. They tried to get the Acadians to sign somthing pledging to take up arms for the English knowing a war was coming and only after the Acadians refused( because they just wanted to farm, hardly presenting as an "enemy") did they start planning the deportation

They literally had to put the women and children on boats and threaten them if that doesn't show fear i don't kniw what does

Said ancestor went on to become a merchant sea captain in the Triangle Trade, rum, molasses and slaves.

There's a book about him in the Nova Scotia historical archives in Halifax.

Ive spoken at the ceremonies in Grand-pré, I know the history of your morally bankrupt coward ancestors

They saved France, twice, on the Western Front & Juno Beach, so it all worked out in the end.

Canada is broken because it was badly conceived in the first place, and that does in fact date back all the way to 1759

The leading public intellectual in Canada on the matter is Professor Donald J. Savoie

You mean the Acadian traditions developed by being the first that settled there, or the scared British tradition that threatened the women and children to deport them?

And here we see the typical lefty version of history. Everything about our traditions, our ancestors, and this country was wrong and evil and cruel etc. etc. And the only cultures and traditions which were worthwhile were those of the natives and the French. Thus there's no reason to be proud of being a Canadian. We should feel guilt and shame instead. In most countries, people with that sort of self-hating attitude are a ridiculed minority. In Canada they're the chattering classes of central Canada and so have the influence to make their views more widely accepted.

All part and parcel of the Americanization of Canada, the lefties don't come up with this stuff themselves, they import it from America.

It's like the  lefties in America tear down Robert E. Lee, so the lefties in Canada have to tear down Cornwallis

Canada doesn't have its own culture, it's just imported American culture in the Post National State

Canada has even thrown its hockey culture under the bus for the American left, and that's pretty much all Canada had.

America is built to take the pounding, Canada was not, and so Canada simply disintegrated in the face of the Giant American Megaphone on the internet

The monoculture is American culture, once Canada jettisoned its British traditions, America simply filled the void that came in the wake.

Quebec protected and promoted its culture, so Quebec is the only real country here, English Canada is just Americans without speech nor property rights

Even gun control and public healthcare are obsessions of the American  left, Canadians have both, but act like they don't, as if they were Americans

Whatever the American left is screeching about, the Canadian left screeches about too, even if it is totally irrelevant to the situation in Canada

Manifest Destiny by insidious liberal media takeover.  Did they really tear Cornwallis down for Canadian reasons ? No, he's just a proxy for Bobby Lee

Marse Robert is still going strong in America despite the lefties, nothing can erase Bobby Lee, he's as famous as Napoleon or Caesar

But Cornwallis is gone forever in Canader, erased from history.
