I shit on Trudeau equally.  Both Trump and Trudeau failed the people during this pandemic. It's as simple as that.

They both failed, but the people who are being critical of Trump didn't have a better plan back when it was time to act so they have to stfu.

Trudeau on the other hand, was blatantly wrong and everyone who knew it has a right to say it.

The world demand for oil will continue for decades. I'm all for a more sustainable energy source, and as soon as one is developed which is economically competitive with oil I'm all for switching over.

Yes. Both screwed up... maybe. It really depends on what they were told. It's the job of the Public Health Agency to take care of these. They were the ones who threw them out and closed down the wareh

Trump still has the power to overwhelm a thread about how Trudeau has failed Canada on COVID-19.

Why is the Trudeau government not responding to the needs of farmers who are going to go into huge debt themselves to produce our crops? Why should Canadian farmers want to do that?

Why are capitalists in need of help?  Why is everyone suddenly expecting socialists to just drop everything and come to capitalism's rescue?

They need help to fight against an authoritarian government that is blind to the consequences of their actions to Canadians.

The government is completely and abjectly stupid, in case you forgot this little detail. They need to be told, as in "told".

Correct me if I am reading this wrong... but ... crapping on Trump, because that person did not have a better plan, is worse than Trump? Trump would not even listen to his own health advisors. And the trend seems, anyone disagreeing with Trump, gets shown the door. No matter if they are right or not.

Many world leaders failed, there is no way to defend any of their actions during this pandemic.

Wrong.

I'm saying that if Pelosi would have been saying "we should do this" at the start, and in the end she was proven to be right, then she would have ample room to bash Trump. Nancy was worse than Trump. The Dems were not talking about Covid at all in January and the first part of Feb except to bash the travel ban. When he did the right things they all said that he was racist and then Nancy had a party in Chinatown which was the exact opposite of social distancing. Dems all over the country were giving the exact wrong advice to people until at least the last week of Feb, if not later. If the coronavirus can take over people's brains and influence their vote, they will all vote for the Dems. DEMS NEED TO STFU because they were the most useless, harmful idiots in the country back when Americans needed their politicians to do and say the right things.

Trump did listen to his health advisors. He was even ahead of them on closing off travel from China. When he started shutting down the country there weren't even 100 covid deaths yet. You're forgetting that he has more than one person giving him advice. If the POTUS always acted on the advice of the scaredest person in the room then Russia would have been nuked back in the '70s.

Re: Canada, if Canadian Conservatives were agreeing that Trudeau was right to say "don't wear masks" and "Banning travel from China is racist and unnecessary" then we wouldn't have any great reason to say that Trudeau is a total fucking moron. I don't know any Conservatives who were agreeing with Trudeau back when he was saying that the travel ban was racist. I don't know any Conservatives who were saying that Trudeau was right to say "don't wear masks". So Conservatives were totally right about those things and they have every right to criticize the village idiot for his awful decisions. Close to 5,000 people died for no other reason than Trudeau is a moron. Not only that, the virus spread far more here than it should have, and as a  result businesses are still closed, schools are still closed, etc, so there is a massive economic impact to his stupidity as well.

You're right, many world leaders "failed". Some got a 99%, like Japan and SoKo. Some got a 60%, like Trump (all Trump did wrong was shut down the whole country too late). Some got a 25%, like Andrew Cuomo (put those old sickies back in the care homes). Trudeau was the only world leader I know that got 0%. Trudeau was just as late as Trump to start practicing extreme social distancing, but Trudeau didn't ban travel from covid hotspots and he gave the bad advice of "don't wear masks".

Grain farmers are communists cuz they  like cooperatives and protected markets. Just kidding. I agree with NWO. No one politician can say when it came to covid their governments knew what they were doing. They still can't with any certainty.  I am like NWO... I consider any  government suspect as I do any layered decision making institution..it is inherent with the nature of power..it corrupts and is corrupted ..if not held to accountability.

Politicians are talking heads of complex layers of conflicting decision makers...so whatever they say is problematic.

I think when it comes to Trudeau and Trump it's just dumb and dumber, Larry and Moe, Yosh and Stan Shmenge or  Rick Flair and Adrian Adonis.

I myself would have preferred  Jesse the Body Ventura in the States and  Rowdy Roddy Piper for Canada. You gonna walk the walk, you gotta swagger. Honourable mention to the Rock in the US and Maurice Mad Dog Vachon for Canada.  Trump tries to be Rick Flair. Trudeau tried to be Miss Elizabeth.

They are farmers using peaceful means of protest. To be heard. Unlike your communist friends across the pond a little ways from you who silence people that dare speak out.

People like me who can use a forum to speak truth to power.

That's pretty weird give it's directed at someone who simply wants to outlaw in-camera lobbying of public officials. How on Earth does that silence free speech?  Only an obsequious lickspittle to power and influence would have reason to think so.

And spew a lot of hooey.  I think I'd rather hear power speak without a wall of secrecy preventing me from determining what's true or not for myself.

Then listen to me and Often Wrong not Justine. You want power and no secrecy that is us.  Also I haven't helped stage a coup d'etats overseas  since I helped the boys pull off that stunt with Boris Johnson. The yellow hair of Trump and Johnson are my trademark. That Fatboy in North Korea is Often Wrong's.  His reall name is Barry Kim from Mississauga. He was unemployed after graduating from Sheridan.

You want to be spoon-fed knowledge so that it's easy to determine what's true, for yourself. Let me know when you've figured that out because I and most other people would like to as well.

Or do you mean you suffer from cognitive dissonance... that's what happens when someone tells you an uncomfortable truth that clashes with your reality. You can choose your own reality, sure go ahead.

Take the blue pill...

That sounds like something you've been spoon-fed or want to believe. In any case why on Earth would anyone want to make what should be public knowledge difficult to obtain?

Is that what you believe you're doing, telling me the truth?

You want to speak truth to power but you can't bring yourself or anyone else it seems to simply listen in when power is speaking.  There's something really weird about that.

I simply want the power that knowledge brings.  Some people like remaining ignorant and powerless and why they think that obliges them to keep everyone at the same level is weird. Take the case of Xi Jinping keeping people ignorant of this outbreak.  Was Jinping trying to do the right thing by keeping it quiet to try and avoid the economic carnage or was he just worried about how this would reflect on him personally or his leadership?  What if it had been Trudeau and this outbreak had started in Canada?  Given what people have said about an overreaction to this virus and the cure being worse than the disease would it have been worth it to make the attempt to live and die in ignorance and what if the justification for doing so was based on the idea that we were better off not knowing - do you think people would have bought it?  I get the sense OftenWrong would maybe not under Trudeau but if Conservatives had been in charge, no problemo.

Ignorance is bliss - take the red pill.

With your record for dishonesty, what right do you have to expect honesty from anyone else eyeball? That's kind of hypocritical, don't you think?

I can post your lie from earlier today if you've already forgotten. Or, you could plead ignorance on that issue, but then if you were so incredibly ignorant that you didn't know any better when all the info was readily available since early February, how are you going to determine what's true or not in this particular instance?

You're pretty demanding of others considering that you have such extremely low standards for yourself.

There ya go. Click the link, it will take you right to where you were intentionally misrepresenting the facts about the Chinese travel ban.

Any idiot knows that the POTUS can't force the Chinese gov't to allow Americans to stay there during a pandemic any more than he can stop Americans from coming home. The US DID NOT allow "40,000 travellers" in, they allowed 40,000 Americans to return.

So again, you're intentionally dishonest and yet you expect the full truth from others. It's pathetic.

Travellers who had been to China in the past 14 days were banned from the US. Fact.

Americans were never banned from entering America, that's just stupid. You're not being intentionally stupid, you're being authentically stupid.

So you're saying they were sent back? How many? How do you know they didn't just fly to Singapore or Thailand and then to America?

Some 230 Passengers Last Year Flew Into Seattle Via Indirect Flights From Wuhan, the Epicenter of the Coronavirus Outbreak

An OAG blog post indicates that determining which passengers are coming into the United States from Wuhan may not be an easy task, however, given thousands of travelers from that Chinese city book domestic flights to a half a dozen other airports in China first before continuing on to international destinations.

“Six of the top ten gateway cities for bookings travelling to international destinations are actually located in China with Guangzhou the key gateway,” the OAG blog post states. “Use of OAG’s data therefore indicates that domestic flights from Wuhan to these points should also be checked for passengers showing symptoms of the virus.”

CDC officials were not immediately available for comment on that potential bug in the system.

The handling of the coronavirus outbreak has implications for businesses in Seattle as well, given the huge volume air travel booked by companies in the area. Suzanne Fletcher-Juneau, a Seattle-based senior associate with the global travel consultancy Inform Logistics and past president of the Puget Sound Business Travel Association, says the combination of Boeing, Amazon and Microsoft alone generated an estimated $650 million in air-travel spending in 2018.

Well over another million human beings were allowed in too and so was the virus.

No I'm just being intentionally accurate in how I word things so the information they convey is authentic.  Trump didn't do that and any idiot can see the intent of using the word banned was to convey the impression the virus was being stopped from coming into America. It wasn't stopped, Trump went on to heighten a false sense of security leading to the faster spread of the virus by telling everyone how it was all under control. It wasn't under control.  The reality is that well over a million other people flew into the US on thousands and thousands of flights and thru a screening process that was as patently useless as the so-called ban. It's inaccurate, misinforming and misleading to say there was a ban when there was merely the illusion of one.

Trying and maintain that illusion or stake your reputation on it to this day is just ridiculous.
