Veterans advocates lament sudden departure of ombudsman Craig Dalton

Recommended Posts

Another Red flag on veterans issues, you know it is getting bad when the chief ombudsman quits due to frustration the government is giving him , and vets.... why is it that a nation that prided itself on our military history, be it at war, or peacekeeping, but also known around the world as nice people, and we can't seem to treat our vets with any understanding, or funding...in todays world Justin has been throwing bils around like they were smarties, but not one red cent to our vets....like we can't even be bothered, they are not worth anything except disdain from the public which is mimicked by our governments...I really hope that one day this bites us all in the ass.. Sad really that these men and women have given so much for all of us , and we brush them off like they were 2 and rate citizens...

It wouldn't be so galling that the Libs can't give the veterans a fair shake, but they give away a billion dollars left and right like it's no big deal.

The Conservatives don't throw money around like it's burning a hole in their pockets but they can't seem to do right by veterans either. Obviously the greens would never give anything to them, and Jagmeet Singh can't be trusted to do anything decent, nor can the NDP, traditionally.

"Thanks for your service, thanks for risking your life and losing a limb, too bad you had to see things that would give ambulance drivers nightmares. Carry on. Oh, and you get to live with returning islamic state terrorists too, but we call them 'fighters' now (just like you)."

Thanks for posting this, otherwise I wouldn't have heard about it. CBC being our government mouthpiece outlet makes sure this is not part of the discussion.

It reveals the government and military leader's real attitude to their own people, the soldiers. The real travesty is that there is no other alternative view, not among the current leadership.

We prop up these incompetent and empty-headed scarecrows and call them leaders. Now we see what they are, at a time when leadership is truly needed. Note the underscored we. We accept the bullshit they put before us. By bullshit I mean the leaders themselves, and their cabinets. These are not the people of Orphelese, these are the political class, a breed apart.

Thank you for the support. thank all you guys for the support..

Yes but when they returned they got poetry and arts and crafts classes, and how did we treat our own, well, the Canadian sniper from the PPCLI ,who broke a world record for the longest kill shot at over 2430 meters, he was also given a bronze star by the Americans while deployed with them as sniper support. Canadian Government  delayed the Americans from giving him and his teams their medals due to an investigation.

well we the Canadians put another sniper det on trial it seems the other det assigned to the same op  had killed a Taliban insurgent, they had put a death card on his fore head " playing cards normally ace of spades with their unit or platoon id or logo on it, it was a way to tell the other bad guys who killed their buddy" and then they took a picture of it , somehow it got out to the public and poof an investigation….any ways long story short he was not treated very well after his fame...the Americans loved him , our own HQ's not so much....he released from the forces with no arts and crafts or poetry courses.......Then they come home and have to take our own government to court to receive medical benefits that most Canadians already have similar to workman's comp...that and dozens of other things,

There is a Maj in the Ottawa area who lost both of his legs during an IED attack, every year he must prove to the government his legs have not grown back , so he can continue to receive some of his benefits....

.Lots of stories with the same type of outcome you could fill a book on just these alone...

It’s like the Defence Minister, PM et all have never heard of “morale”.

TBH I know that Trudeau personally doesn’t give a shit about Canadian soldiers. To him they’re just a backdrop for a sweet selfie 1 day a year. I just don’t get why everyone else that we elect treats you like hot garbage.

Thanks for your service Army Guy. The majority of Canadians support you, and far more than we support our government.
